    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I'm seeing some reports that Google Wallet is back up for us Evo users. I'm still getting the error. Is it back up for anyone else?
  2. That's a great deal. Does anyone have any experience with Team branded SD cards? I've never heard of them and from what I've read over the years the brand of SD card can make a big difference in performance.

    Jelly Bean

I have the OG Evo and I don't seem to remember any problems following Gingerbread. I was mainly running custom ROMs at that time so perhaps that's why I didn't see any issues, but there was certainly nothing that I noticed that I would call terrible.
  4. It's only for new contract customers and not upgrades, but still that's a heck of a price point to get a device like this. If this was running before I did my upgrade I would have considered adding a line to my current plan and then dropping the off-contract number.
  5. Is a price drop like this so soon after launch indicative of anything? http://wireless.amazon.com/HTC-EVO-Android-Phone-Sprint/dp/B007ZUN6GS/ref=sh_br_ph_1?ie=UTF8&transaction=INDIVIDUAL_NEW&sr=1-1-entd&qid=1340895553122

    Evo LTE staying awake

I'm seeing an immediate benefit. It's been so long since I've seen any plateaus in my batter graph. All I've seen for awhile has been a steady downward slope. My idle time plateaus are back! Woot! Mods, you can lock this topic as my question has been answered.
  8. Yeah, I remember reading once that either FedEx or UPS had set up their drivers routing to minimize left turns in order to save time. They had found that waiting to cross traffic to make a left was costing each driver xx minutes per shift and that even though they may have to go a few blocks out of the way they would save time in the end. Not sure how the drivers liked it but I thought it was interesting.
  9. I can tell you one thing I haven't missed about the PTT decline and that's hearing the other half of conversations through the phone speaker that's been cranked up to 10. I really don't care to hear that Joey is having trouble getting 3/4 inch poly concomitant coax cable down from the 12th floor or that dispatch needs you to go to Capital Hill before you head over to K street. PTT users seem to feel like the need to talk as loud as possible so the other party can hear them over the ancient walkie talkie network.

    Evo LTE staying awake

My man! I remember back when I was having issues with my Wifi connectivity I went and checked that box hoping it would help. That likely caused this new issue. When I first got my Evo the idle battery life was great even when I was on Wifi. I knew something had changed and I deleted some apps and changed some synch setting and nothing worked. Thank you my friend!
  12. Off-topic but I am always impressed by the breadth of knowledge that members here have. From wireless technologies to cell tower specs to shipping systems. It's great around here!
  13. I have been noticing that my battery life has been decreasing lately and I couldn't figure out what it was. It was still pretty decent but I noticed that my idle life wasn't as good as my first few days with the device. I noticed that the phone was staying awake a lot more often. I downloaded an app to help diagnose the problem but it never pointed me directly to the process that was keeping the device awake. Based on the screenshots below do any of you have an idea of what the problem could be? As you can see, of the 9hrs 46mins the device was on battery it was awake for almost 9hrs. My total screen on time for that period was about 1 hour. What do guys think? I also left my phone off the charger last night and finally experienced the SmartSync phenomenon. The battery savings were tremendous as the device used almost no battery once SmartSync kicked in.
  14. You might want to watch your wording there Roberto. You know the LTE hungry masses will read that as "Robert said that the OTA to fix the LTE issue is coming in the next week or so!"
  15. It's been stated that even if 4G is live at a site Sprint is blocking device access for the time being. It may be related to possible connectivity issues with the EvoLTE.
  16. You have the EvoLTE right? I was thinking about trying to setup my Airave/Airvana again but if you think it's borking the data on the EvoLTE then I'll pass. The voice signal benefits aren't worth the possibility of messing up my phone. There's the text message issue that others are reporting as well. I think I'll stick with the landline at home and if you call me on my cell just be prepared to leave a voicemail.
  17. What he said! I have an Airave sitting in the box now because it never set up correctly just plugging it in or following the instructions at the quoted link.
  18. I've never noticed that. I always have my phone on charge at night so that may be why it doesn't happen to me but from the screenshot below you can see that the only time my wifi was off was a short time during the day when I put it on Airplane mode. I also haven't noticed any unusual power management going on and I've let my phone get down below 5% a couple times and didn't really notice anything different. I'll try leaving my phone off the charger tonight to see if anything changes.
  19. I don't understand this. Are you saying that your EvoLTE is turning off your radios every night? Sent from my EVO LTE using Forum Runner
  20. I wondered to myself whether AJ uses the word concomitant in real life speaking. Myself answered and said; "Yes. Yes he does."
  21. I take it you mean while the screen is on but at the lock screen as I tried to change the volume while the phone was locked and screen off and I couldn't. I can see plenty of instances where I would want to turn the ringer volume down without having to unlock the device to do so. If I am going into a meeting or into someone's office and I want to turn the volume down quickly I can do it from the lock screen without having to go into the device. In less time than it takes to pull the unlock ring, enter my pin code and THEN turn the volume down I can adjust the volume and have the device back in my pocket. As for no controls from the lock screen, then we would be unable to do like themuffinman says and restart the phone if the OS has locked up and you can't get the lockscreen to respond. This happened to me once when my phone overheated and I was getting no response from the touchscreen. I had to hold the power button until the device shut off. Not to discount the OP's experience but I can't imagine that accidentally turning down the volume while at the lockscreen and being unaware of it is a widespread occurrence. There are visible and audible indicators that you are adjusting the volume, and if you hold the down rocker long enough the device will vibrate briefly once it goes all the way down.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I accidentally discovered another way to take screen shots. Power button +volume down takes screen shots. You hear the camera shutter sound and a notification msg appears confirming the shot. I was trying to turn the phone off with one hand and my finger was on the down volume button. This may be old news to some of you but it was new to me. Sent from my EVO LTE using Forum Runner

  25. This! If my dissatisfaction about a service I was paying for was so great that it caused me daily stress and made me curse and shake my fist to the heavens online regularly, then no amount of money would be too great for me to unload said service and move on. I would gladly pay an ETF and move to something that serves me better. The cost would be paid back multi-fold in reduced stress, lowered blood pressure, more time to google pictures of figure athletes. Just think of the amount of keystrokes alone that would be saved by not having to rant about my service on multiple online sites. My kids would no longer have to tell their friends they can't come over because dad's on sprintusers again. All the disgruntled and dissatisfied Sprint customers, do yourselves and your families a favor (do us a favor too...please) and find something better. Life's too short to spend it on a carrier you hate. Not a sermon, just a thought.
