  1. I can say the same about NYC. But they are saying select area of NYC(Bronx and Brooklyn) so can't complain. But NYC has Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island and Westchester(?). That's a HUGE hole.
  2. I'm all for it. Don't know how many times I wished I can make a call to say the trains are delayed and will be late. Edit: At least make it data only so I can text or email it at least.
  3. I didn't say coverage is bad. Other then Brooklyn and Bronx and upper manhattan, coverage isn't pretty decent. In queens, I don't have pretty decent coverage. LTE is limited and 3G is mediocre. And with such spots of LTE in queens, I switch from LTE to 3G too often to have reliable data coverage. I know it's expected and such but let's not say NYC has pretty decent coverage when that's not true. Only few parts of NYC has decent coverage.
  4. I have no idea what you mean by pretty decent coverage in NYC. I have no decent coverage. I have no LTE in my neighborhood and where I work. Yes sensorly makes it look like the whole city is covered but when you drill into the street level, it's not so covered and as Sprint fine tunes the panels angles, in places where Sensorly has purple, you no longer get LTE. Service is not pretty decent in NYC. Maybe Brooklyn and Bronx can claim pretty decent. Not Queens and Lower Manhattan. I'm still waiting for NV in Lower Manhattan and Sprint keeps telling me they are working on the towers and the ETR keeps getting pushed back a week after a week. On a side note, T-Mobile works well as I am testing them to see if i'll make the jump. So far it's looking like T-Mobile will be my next carrier. I hope Sprint does finish the upgrades and can compete. As long as Sprint has good plans (Not the new plans), I will reconsider later.
  5. Just saw -118db of LTE at my work. Downtown Manhattan. They have been working on one of the towers near me since Nov of last year. I think I might finally get LTE here. But LTE lasted all of 5 secs and now I see "o". But LTE nonetheless.
  6. The last I heard from Sprint, they told me that the towers in downtown Manhattan are waiting for local telephone companies to fix the towers. That I assume means backhaul. However I'm fed up with the 8 months of issues from Sandy. Probably will terminate my contract and go check out t-mobile and see how it works out. If they don't work for me, then I'm stuck and don't know what to do but wait.
  7. That's my 3G speeds here in downtown Manhattan!!! lol I hope you are just passing through the hospital and not sick.
  8. Having multiple variation of LTE, is that cost effective? Wouldn't it make sense to either go TD-LTE or just LTE for all spectrum Sprint/Clearwire hold? Shouldn't Sprint make a decision as to which one will be the last one standing? Or maybe LTE Advance is what will be the last one standing phasing out TD-LTE/LTE?
  9. So all PCS and AWS are either ranges of frequencies or a particular frequency?
  10. So now that Nextel is shutdown and NV is going on all over the country... When do you think we will see the finished product? End of 2013 or 2014 or 2015?
  11. Don't want to sound like I am complaining although I might be complaining... but it's been like this since last week. I know there isn't LTE here where I am working so I don't even bother having LTE on. But the 3G has been on and off. I don't care about fast speed since I know 3G is poor in places without NV but I just want it to stay connected so I don't have to see it not sent and have to airplane mode to get my connection back. Sorry to all of you following this tread and having to deal with my rantings.
  12. Sorry if this is a dumb question and sorry if there was a post somewhere with this very question... but can someone explain to me what PCS, AWS means? Pros/Cons for each of them? I kind of know that lower band frequencies are better for building penetration and distance and the higher frequencies are for short distance and better in regards to speed(?). If there was a post, a link would be great so i can read up on it. Thanks.
  13. My 3G has been problematic here in downtown Manhattan again... I'm starting to get fed up with this and are at a point to cancel and pay the ETF... in places where there is LTE, I am fine but just simple messaging apps are having hard time sending messages here because internet connection is on and off.
  14. I have that prob too. Not in that area but i have to put my phone on CDMA only to get any working data when not on LTE.
  15. I am thinking iPhone isn't the best phone to use on a CDMA network now. Having used it on both Verizon and Sprint, I get more 3G issues on it compared to android phones. GSM networks seem to have better connections. When in a place with LTE, iphones are fine, but when it goes to 3G, i get a lot of "o" and moving back and forth. First i thought it was network issues and do ##update# and so on but that doesn't help. When on LTE, it doesn't cycle as much as when on the 3G network. This is really disappointing.
  16. Staten Island might end up being the last to have started to the first boro to have all sites LTE.
  17. Now that this is most like a done deal, what now? How fast can Sprint work to expand clearwire spectrum to be used for LTE?
