  1. I get it. Why not use it. I use it. Don't want to veer off topic again and I'm sure everyone has their own opinion on this and many many people discuss this to no end. Everyone will do what they feel comfortable doing and use services they pay for as they see fit. If one wants to use wifi everywhere like my gf who never uses more than 500 mbs, that's fine. If someone else wants to use 20gbs, that is fine too. As long as it's legal usage.
  2. I don't know... I honestly don't think using the cellular network on your smartphone will cause too much slowdown for others. If anything it would be the illegal tethering usage that would slow it down. I agree that wifi should be used more often but then again we are paying a premium to use our smartphones for $10 extra. Either don't charge the premium if i am using wifi more then cellular or charge it and let me use it as I see fit. It's the illegal tethering that's the problem. lol
  3. I'm in the same boat man... Slow agonizing speeds in Manhattan!!! I get LTE at home a weak signal but still LTE. I don't use it because i have wifi and when i step outside, I lose LTE. For all the places I spend my time, I don't have LTE. But i get by knowing I will have good speeds eventually within this year. You just have to be positive. If you spend a lot of your time thinking about this, you will go mad. Take a deep breath and think about how much you will love it when you get it eventually. And since you live on the border, i wouldn't be surprised if you get signal earlier then others in LI. You will be the lucky one amongst your friends. Stay positive!!!!
  4. Not sure yet but definitely in the strip somewhere. Need to find a place to stay for about a week. Recommendation?
  5. I wonder if there will ever be a roaming agreement using LTE between the two companies.
  6. Man... I hope LV gets LTE before my vacation in July. Keep posting updates... Thanks.
  7. Just so that Long Island folks know that they are not forgotten...
  8. LI is being upgraded as we speak right now. Just because your town isn't done doesn't mean LI is not being upgraded right now. Sprint has a schedule of rolling out NV. We might not understand it all but it is being done the way they feel is best for the company and their customers. Not only that, local laws make it hard to access some sites then others. There are a lot of factors. It helps when you don't visit this site too much during the day. lol It's painful to see everyone get LTE and you are still on old 3G. Sometimes it's just best to check once a week. Besides, when home, you have wifi so you should be fine. Other times I'm sure you are in NYC so you get to experience the LTE goodness that some of us get. Remember, not all of us get it as well in NYC yet.
  9. A lot of us are addicted!!! But yeah just running a couple is fine instead of running one after the other.
  10. Anyone here works on the towers in NYC market? I just have a question as to if getting backhaul is a problem in the financial district where Sandy hit pretty hard.
  11. Already used 1.5 gb of 4G. Still have a week left for this month. And this is mostly on speedtests. Including 3G over 2.5 gb. Once the LTE crazy becomes the norm, should be more reasonable.
  12. Man... someone needs to map that out... not many mapping happy people in queens... haha
  13. That's definitely near the 2 data speed upgrade. Nice!!! Just need it to move up to where LaGuardia is located. I think I used 1GB running speed tests in LTE area through this month. Thank goodness for unlimited.
  14. It seems like they are all in Brooklyn now with a few in Queens.
  15. Looks like Ozone Park has been turned on for LTE.
  16. Did you try to reset your network and restart your phone? That's the first thing I would try. If that doesn't help, dial ##873283#. If all of that doesn't work, then you should take it to Apple. and do a factory reset before hand to rule that out.
  17. Does anyone know what Sprint means when they say data capacity is increased? Does that mean more panels or something else? Looking at some towers that are located, some are only facing one side of the building and some buildings have 360 degrees coverage. Would more panels on the side of building help coverage on that side compared to just a few panels? Does this all make sense?
  18. I'm glad there is no cell service in the subways. One last place to put our cell phones away for a bit. I thought the exact same thing few weeks ago when I tested LTE and it was slow. But two days ago, I was in Flushing on Bowne St and Roosevelt Ave, I got 25mbps dl and 4.3mbps upload. With only three towers nearby on LTE, that is awesome speed. Yes, not 50-60 like some people from AT&T or Verizon, but they aren't that fast in NYC either. Those speeds are from people who live in small towns in middle of no where. I'm satisfied with Sprint and what they have done. now just need the towers in wall street to light up...
  19. Wall Street area. Way way downtown. Seems to be back up and running now. Don't know what happened though.
  20. Anyone else having problems with 3G in downtown Manhattan today?
  21. Today I have lost all data functions even though the phone says 3G. Anyone else have this issue? Sprint is saying that it could be a known issue soon because they had multiple people call today about that. It could be an iPhone only issue.
  22. Even try to shut down and reboot. Hope you don't pass the area before you get connected.
