  1. I still remember those damn size limits on my EVO. Limit was 2MB for MMS, but god forbid my photo ends up 2100KB, it'll get shrunk by the app down to 20KB. I ended up retaking photos at slightly lower res to get things through. On my Pixel, i actually switched to using Facebook for SMS. This at least cuts down the number of messaging apps I need to use, plus it's easy to send bigger videos via FB rather than MMS. Next question is whether FB Messenger supports RCS too?
  2. Looks like the those using the stock Google Messenger app for SMS on Pixel now get RCS support on Sprint: http://www.androidauthority.com/google-messenger-rcs-726627/ Has anyone played with this on their Pixel?
  3. Is iPhone 7 the only Sprint phone with 2x CA Uplink? I thought that starting with iPhone and Pixel, all new phones would have it.
  4. I just got my Pixel XL and upgraded from Nexus 6P reusing the old SIM. Sprint online activation was fast and smooth. It's a shame it's taken this long, but glad not have to chat with international support. I chose not to copy settings from the 6P, since I suspect some settings might be responsible for miserable battery life that I have. Plus, i wanted to re-evaluate the decision on all the apps. However, does anyone know if I can selectively copy the Wi-Fi networks from the old phone?
  5. Has anyone gotten an estimated ship date earlier than Oct 26-28 for Pixel XL 128GB?
  6. Second B25 channel is already up all around San Francisco. Can CA be turned on without further tower visits?
  7. I'd suggest getting the sim at best buy. I had better luck there on first try than at multiple sprint stores.
  8. Any chance he confused B25 / B26? Latest set of phones does B25-B25 CA, and his answer makes sense in that context.
  9. Hey guys.... I made this little table comparing the supported LTE bands for the latest set of unlocked phones including iPhone 6S, 7, HTC 10, Nexus 7P and Pixel XL. You can see how Pixel XL picks up bands from Nexus 6P and HTC 10. iPhones are still king by supporting 6 more bands. I've also highlighted bands used by US carriers (as I was showing this to a friend).
  10. Anyone here switch from Sprint to Google-Fi? Does Google Voice with Fi behave the same way as it does with Sprint/GV integration? Can you still use the old Google Voice app instead of Hangouts?
  11. Order Pixel XL with 128GB. ETA is Oct 26... Also got the free Google-Fi SIM card for "testing"...
  12. Power Adapter last year was 15W that did 3A @ 5V. This one is 18W, so it might have support for QuickCharge, or does USB Power delivery of 2 A @ 9V. Also means that my Nexus 6P chargers are all outdated...
  13. Does iOS 10 support WiFi calling without removing Google Voice?
  14. If you're talking about phones you can order from Sprint AND take to any carrier without any network compromises, then your only option is: * iPhone 6S * iPhone 7 You will still get "some" compromises with 6S since that model likely doesn't have all the CA modes supported (even on Sprint). If you don't want any network compromises AND are willing to get the phone elsewhere, then your options grow significantly with the following: * Google Nexus 5X * Google Nexus 7P Other phones listed in comment #8 will work, but likely won't have access to all LTE bands on all US carriers.
  15. Would really like there to be a cellular option.... I have another 7" tablet that even fits in some of my pants pockets. If this one has a 7" screen with a slightly thinner bezel, it'll likely fit even better...
  16. Fi roaming is capped at 256Kbit, so you won't be pushing LTE much. In fact, might be better to force 3G to reduce battery drain further.
  17. Countries are largely the same, but roaming speeds differ as follows: Fi = 256 kbit TM = 128 kbit Sprint = 64 kbit
  18. I was at the mall earlier today and checked out these headphones with my Nexus 6p: https://www.bose.com/products/headphones/earphones/soundtrue-ultra-in-ear-headphones-samsung-devices.html#v=soundtrue_ultra_samsung_charcoal Guess what... the volume control worked! Now, I'm not going to recommend these if you want good value in sound, BUT if you want a set of headphones with volume control that works on your Nexus 6p, here's one option for you! I'm gonna see if I can get this on my wishlist in time for Christmas. Happy Holidays!!
  19. They fix Bluetooth issues that prevented Tile from working correctly. I kept getting constant notifications of BT errors before the update.
  20. I've noticed that as well. I toggled "Mobile Data" and phone went back to LTE. Seems our day of having phone hang onto LTE with fast rescan times are over.
  21. Yea. I'll agree that they're overpriced. They are better than average, but what really caught my eye is the volume control. I just don't understand how no one on android world noticed that iPhones all come with headphones with inline volume controls. Is it just a lack of standardization? Anyway, are there any headphones with volume control for the 6p that anyone has found?
  22. Casting a wide net, but was wondering if the volume control in these Bose headphones works with the 6p: https://www.bose.com/products/headphones/earphones/soundtrue-ultra-in-ear-headphones-samsung-devices.html The volume control is supposed to work with some Samsung devices, but the compatibility of that is unclear.
  23. I got an email from sprint that included this nugget: Has anyone tried seeing if their plan now has 3GB of hotspot or how to add it?
