    Pixel 4/4XL

Is it just my Pixel 4 XL that's still running with Oct 5, 2019 security level? I haven't gotten any updates since setting up the phone.
  2. I'm in a high-rise on 7th floor of a 40 story tower. There's another tower across the street though and I think I sometimes can pick up my MB from the sidewalk.
  3. Well, I've had the magic box working for a week now using WiFi, and I can actually get some usage stats. Take a look: Sprint ought to pay me for the service I provide since there's no way me and my wife use 10 GB per week. 😎
  4. I suspect that in addition to lack of 5 GHz support, there's some other compatibility issue that's holding you up. What Wi-Fi router do you have and what encryption is it running?
  5. Do you get symmetric speeds up and down on wired?
  6. I got the Pixel 4 XL activated via eSIM and RCS took a few hours longer to activate after LTE, 1x/3G, VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling were all working. Have you tried checking again recently?
  7. Well, 2.4 GHz WiFi setting on MB gives me 39.3 Mbit down and 7.98 Mbit up. Significantly better than 1-2 Mbit I'd get with LTE backhaul. There's certainly an upper limit here around 40Mbit / 8Bit Probably related to 5:1 TDD ratio setting on MB for B41, so I'm actually unconvinced going to 5GHz will give me that much more stability given that I get 1Gbit fiber running to the router, so using about 5% of the uplink. 40Mbit is still pretty good speed for LTE, so it'll be hard for me to push that to the limit. The wildcard is how many other people in my neighborhood have phones connecting to my Magic Box. MB doesn't seem to identify itself to my router as anything, so I"ll need to chase it down via MAC address.
  8. Yes, but only on 2.4 GHz. However, I just turned off WiFi and see that my phone isn't connecting to the MB, so I'll need to see if I'm out of range or it's simply just not as stable.
  9. I just changed the Network Settings on my MB Gold to use Wi-Fi. I've got two Google WiFi, so MB was showing me 4 networks. 2.4GHz and 5GHz from each one. To simplify setup, I unplugged the more distant one. However, I'm not able to get MBG to connect to the 5GHz SSID. Only the 2.4 GHz seems to work. Is MB Limited to 2.4 GHz or could there be something about my Google WiFi that's not quite compatible?

Ditto here. First time I've seen eSIM work! The process left some "enabling data" notification that went away after i rebooted since phone was working pretty quickly.

    What did you upgrade from?

Take a selfie with both in a dark room so maybe with just one light on. Use non-wide camera on Pixel 3. Let me know if scene renders brighter on Pixel 3 vs Pixel 4. Don't use night mode, but you can use the max HDR setting. I take lots of selfies at dark restaurants and bars, so liked that Pixel 3 front and rear cameras had nearly identical capabilities.

Yes, directly from Google. Did you order from Sprint? If so, curious which ships faster.

I got the "Your Google Store order has shipped" email this morning at 11:52am, and I preordered shortly after they enabled Pixel 3 XL as a trade-in. The Fedex tracking info says delivery estimate of Wednesday, but nothing aside from the label has been created yet.

From the Wi-Fi Calling FAQ regarding MMS: Can I send text messages over Wi-Fi? Android phones: SMS (text) is supported in Wi-Fi Calling mode. MMS (pictures and group texts) is supported on select devices in Wi-Fi Calling mode. Depending on the device manufacturer and messaging client, cellular coverage is required for MMS. For example, devices with the Android Messages client requires cellular coverage for MMS.

My LG has some screenshare ability, but I don't use it since got Chromecast. Let's hope eSIM works this time.
  18. Yep... on regular sprint plan. I tried it on my old phone which is no longer on my account, and I do get the login prompts. Tried it on my activated phone, but got an error. Let's hope Pixel 4 works with eSIM out of the box.

I need to investigate if 1x is required for MMS. I suspect it is....
  20. I never get to that step. Simply get an error. I'll take a video of doing that when pixel 4 comes out.
  21. I see that same option, but continually get an error upon selecting it and confirming a sprint dialog. Then I'm told to call a number for help. Starting to suspect it's something about my plan / account that's choking it.
  22. The answer is still a "no" on eSIM if you bought your phone from Google. After many attemps at the store, it just would not work, so back to physical SIM. 😖
  23. My old Pixel 3 XL had a broken USB-C Connector. It would only charge if cable is inserted in one direction - no longer reversible connector. I've got it all setup, so with a new IMEI, should I be able to get eSIM activated on it?
  24. Cool... Is there a way to tell that you have VoLTE in SignalCheck or anything else?

So here's a weird (or maybe expected from Sprint) observation about WiFi Calling and VoLTe: * On WiFi: Phone connects to BOTH - Wi-Fi and 1x * On VoLTE: Phone only connects to LTE Kinda partially defeats the purpose of WiFi Calling if phone is still gonna drain my battery by looking for 1x.
