  1. How do you get to this screen on iPhone 6? -Martin
  2. I haven't found much b41 in south bay, but at least b25 is almost everywhere.
  3. I start in SF, but that's largely my commute. How much b26 is there along 237? I saw they finally accepted the last 3g only tower along 237, but it wasn't broadcasting LTE yet last week.
  4. Does anyone have trouble with the GPS? When traveling, I rely on Waze and Google Navigation, but after 2-3 uses, GPS stops working. In the nav apps, it means that my app location doesn't update making them useless. Rebooting the phone fixes the problem, but not always. Has that happened to anyone else? Any other suggestions on how to restore the GPS functionality? Martin
  5. Sprint unlocked my wife's iPhone 5S, so no reason to think why that policy would get stricter. I only wish that 6/6+ were sold already unlocked like VZ models.
  6. I feel these were existing LTE purple sites and only 1x800 got activated. Any way to tell?
  7. Was driving to Monterey on Saturday, and I saw workers on tower -----------near exit 5 on Hwy 17 South before Santa Cruz.
  8. I'd give it one more month. What is your commute?
  9. Actually, I think SF upgrades are much smoother than in other places where B25 towers go up one by one. In those markets (like San Jose area), a B25 tower goes up and LTE signal would cover area typically spanned by 4-5 surrounding towers - leaving little LTE bandwidth in the end for a device that locks onto it. It would actually make 3G service much better as all the LTE devices in that area would battle for a sliver of 5x5 LTE freeing up 3G. Today, in SF, there are many B41 towers. B41 is VERY capable of providing bandwidth equivalent of 4-5 B25 LTE towers. Looking at LTE Discovery app (which I'm liking much more than SCP), there's something near 3rd & I-80 in SOMA that's blanketing area as far as 7th & Townsend with useful speeds. With eCSFB up, it's a better experience than what SF has suffered with for the last two years where single LTE towers would struggle with the load.
  10. I'd imagine this also depends on what the other guys use for voice. I was in China last year with an iPad air, and we never saw LTE, despite supposedly being on networks with compatible bands. I chalked it up as some other compatibility issue or lack of widespread deployment. IPad is also a more worldly device than the Sprint specific M8, hence my skepticism.
  11. From the first PDF you linked, I found some juicy bits relevant to Sprint. On page 12, when talking about DAS upgrade at AT&T Park earlier this year Feb-March, the say: "Part of this year’s DAS renovations include a new room specifically being built for Sprint’s DAS equipment, a sort of re-arrange-the-house construction project that saw the ballpark wall off half its painting services workshop to make space for Sprint’s gear. During our visit we saw workers putting up the racks that will hold the Sprint head end gear, as thick fiber cables snaked in the doorway" Let's hope some Spark is coming or will come with that upgrade!!
  12. Don't see any DAS in the stadium on our map. Maybe Sprint was too busy with the upgrades to participate in the DAS?
  13. If you have time to have someone send you a working SIM, do it.
  14. There's a good article describing in detail the efforts made to allow all 68K fans access to video and internet over wifi. http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2013/03/the-49ers-plan-to-build-the-greatest-stadium-wi-fi-network-of-all-time/ Most of it is about Wi-Fi, but here are a few cool details: * 680 access points (1 for every 100 fans), mostly on 802.11ac 5GHz 20MHz channels * No bridging of access points, so all IP traffic is effeciently routed * 40-GBit fiber backbone * 1700 Bluetooth "beacons", unclear if it's limited to Apple's iBeacon technology * Order food/drinks via app, have runners deliver it to your seat The relevant part to our group is this snippet: "Besides building its own Wi-Fi network, the team will build a carrier-neutral distributed antenna system to boost cellular signals within the stadium." I don't know anyone involved with that stadium, but would be interesting to learn what Sprint and other carriers have deployed there.
  15. eCSFB was working fine this morning, but all that happened is I picked up a very distant B41 tower with slow speeds. South San Jose launch is a joke. Maybe if they had B26 there, it wouldn't be as bad. I bet 3G works great there with all the phones fighting over scraps of LTE.
  16. Seems like everywhere I go, it's still just 3G. The density of LTE towers is low, so when I do get it, it's maybe 2Mbit with towers overloaded. We made progress, but need another 6 months of work.
  17. Reckless, but apparently necessary. Expect that to last about 2 weeks if process is same as in other markets. Then it's back to normal with no LTE like the quiet before the storm. Then LTE about 2 weeks later.
  18. Last night testing = nothing at 4th and King. Couldn't get any data to hail a Lyft or Uber. Had to take a taxi.
  19. One thing about the camera, if you know how to use the camera, there aren't as problems with it as others make it out to be. You can take daytime pictures and have them come out just fine. It takes the right amount of effort in composing the shot our using hdr as needed. In exchange, you'll be taking night photos that no amount of fiddling can get you.
  20. I have this issue with hangouts. Haven't tried to see if messages app also has mms problems with Wi-Fi calling enabled.
  21. I don't understated why mms is an issue. With Wi-Fi on, mms notification comes over like sms, but gets downloaded via Wi-Fi.
  22. I had this problem when I first tried it. Have up, and randomly tried it a few days later. This time it worked. Only issue is that mms won't download when that mode is enabled.
  23. Same here. Texts send and receive just fine. Mms are waiting to download
