  1. I noticed recently that my M8 stops connecting to LTE and stays on 3G/1x after I ride the elevator or visit a place with low connectivity. I need to redo self-activation to fix it. This seems to have have regressed with the Lollipop upgrade, but I'm wondering if that's the same issue affecting the M9. If that happens to you, go to Settings -> Activate Device -> Reset Cellular Data. After the phone reboots a couple times, let me know if the issue is fixed.
  2. The big switch was flipped around December and now SF is an official Spark market. Night and day difference compared 2014.
  3. I'm digging the new user submitted Themes. Have you tried the new Dot Case?
  4. New report out on SF: http://www.rootmetrics.com/us/rsr/san-francisco-ca/2015/1H The fun stats: This marks the eighth time we’ve tested the San Francisco market. Our previous round of testing occurred in August 2014. AT&T and Verizon shared the Overall RootScore Award. During our testing in August, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile shared this award. Since our testing in August, Sprint’s median download speed increased from 4.0 Mbps to 9.1 Mbps, and Sprint’s median upload speed increased from 2.1 Mbps to 4.3 Mbps. T-Mobile’s median download speed increased from 15.1 Mbps to 18.5 Mbps since August, and T-Mobile’s median upload speed increased from 12.8 Mbps to 19.4 Mbps. Verizon’s median download speed increased from 11.2 Mbps to 16.9 Mbps, and Verizon’s median upload speed increased from 8.4 Mbps to 11.0 Mbps.
  5. For me, the big downside of GV is no HD Voice.
  6. Oh wow. Almost looking forward to riding BART. Is the DAS shared in Muni subway under Market?
  7. Well, I lose LTE for the 10 second ride in the elevator, so 3G isn't going to save me. But then I wouldn't be stuck on EVDO or 1x four minutes after getting off the elevator.
  8. Do you think it's time for a device like M9 to have an option where I can disable 2G and 3G data? When I'm at home or commuting, it's rare that I leave LTE area, but when my phone drops off LTE, it takes a while for it to come back. Voice, of course, would remain on 3G. Is this something ROOTed phones already allow?
  9. My point was that if you have never read any review on M9, then walked into a Sprint Store that had M9 on display, describing a screen "inferior" is not something you'd notice.
  10. But your eyes always adjust. You can't fight nature. You're not running Photoshop on the phone, and I find it silly to worry about a screen that few people could declare inferior if they were just pick up the phone in a store.
  11. After a few mins, your eyes will adjust. Bigger issue is with polarization when wearing polarized sunglasses. M8 has to be held horizontally to be visible. Curios how battery tests will change after the update.
  12. I was at a Shark's hockey game on Saturday at Levi's stadium in Santa Clara. Here are my observations: * No one knew the Wi-Fi password or Wi-Fi was off. I saw some tweets of people complaining about WiFi speeds, so I'm assuming they attended a game at the stadium before and Wi-Fi password was the same. * Fastest speed test I got was .5 Mbit down on B41 * On many occasions, my phone would toggle between no-service and LTE every few seconds without ever getting a usable connection. If DAS was on, it was clearly overloaded. If DAS was off, then towers were overloaded. Either way, Sprint has a lot of work to do for next year.
  13. Ugh. I saw a friend's nexus 5 doing that too last week. Does it take as long as it usually takes after a real upgrade? I might hold off doing the same.
  14. You can switch the view back to tiled.
  15. I hear ya. On the other hand, it's the network that decides which band you're parked on, so it's not out of the question that Sprint could have phones parked on b26 when idle.
  16. Another workaround is to use the HTC Dot View case which has its own lock screen.
  17. You can now keep Wi-Fi Calling enabled AND dismiss the constant notification.
  18. For whatever reason, my account is always in the last batch of phones marked for upgrade.
  19. There are three possibilities for bad battery life:1. File system fragmented and/or apps and is not upgrading cleanly. 2. Battery going bad. 3. Flash memory going bad and using more CPU and battery for each read and write. I'm hoping it's just #1 that's the problem. No easy way to tell if it's #2. An app might be able to test #3.
  20. I plan on re-imaging and doing a factory reset on my M8 one Lollipop comes out.
  21. With the latest update, how is this "cloud gallery" feature supposed to work on One M8 (not HK)? I keep seeing a message that Cloud Gallery has removed duplicates, but it's unclear which photos got uploaded (which is concerning in itself).
  22. Can you post a screen shot of ItsOn's battery usage when it does its thing? My battery life has been down to about 8 hours tops lately, so I'll reset and reinstall things as soon as Lollipop comes out. I don't think it's anything in particular draining the battery, as everything is just slower. Keyboard might take a second or two to pop out now instead of it being nearly instantaneous. I really wish battery usage was reported and normalized to mAH, instead of just a percentage. I bet my Gmail uses 2 to 3 times as much battery for same amount of email add before.
  23. BTW. I haven't noticed many browser issues, but that might be because I use LinkBubble most of the time. (Shameless plug)
