  1. Other than NV panels, you can look for crews working, or look for signs of a freshly trenched ground for the fiber or the orange conduit coming out of the ground. NV panels are all part of the main installation. They cover 1900 voice and LTE/800 voice and LTE. Once those are up, your tower is "In Progress."
  2. There is no difference in quality between the two frequencies. It's just some kind of placebo effect where you just think it's better. Yes, 1x800 has better coverage, but to say the voice quality is better is just nonsense. This is digital technology we're talking about. There's little degradation. You either have a working signal or you don't.
  3. It's hard to say. But if the trend continues, the body will change to something new for the next iteration. Probably a little bigger. I don't want a bigger phone. This phone is the perfect size. All I want is band 41 implementation. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. IMO, the iPhone 5s is pretty perfect. I don't understand this fascination with massive android phones. I also own a g2, and after trying to use it for 10 minutes with one hand, I get a cramp. The only android device that feels pretty good in the hand to me is the nexus 5. It's a good size, and has a rubber feel for a good grip.
  4. I have a framily of 10 people. And yes, 25+20+11. Edit: I meant that my bill is 56. I originally stated it was 46.

Glass protectors are the best you can buy. They tend to be more expensive (obviously) but make your phone feel natural; like there's nothing even on it. Check out spigen.com. They're known for some of the best glass shields, and sell one for your nexus 5. I find that the tR (rounded edges) are the best. They're also so much easier to install than the plastic ones.
  6. It's fantastic. Coverage for voice and data in Chicago have been excellent for a year or so. I always have a great signal wherever I go. I've never had a call not go through, or have people tell me it's going straight to voicemail ever since network vision 1.0 basically completed here. Dropped calls were never an issue for me until last week when I suddenly began dropping several calls per day in different areas on the south side. Not sure if that was some weird fluke, or if some kind of network tuning was going on at the time. There's so much potential from Sprint, especially here in Chicago. They just need to get the ball rolling a little faster on things. Patience will pay off. Not to mention, with Framily I've been able to knock my line down to $46/mo with insurance. No carrier can beat that price for unlimited everything.
  7. You probably don't need 1x800 wherever you are. People feel this need to always have to be on 1x800. It's no different, other than propagation. If it's present, and your phone needs it, you'll connect to it, and only be able to see the connection during a call on triband devices. You'll always be idling on 1xRTT.
  8. I actually enjoy the different sprint advertisements around town.
  9. Maybe you guys can answer a few questions: 1) can this be purchased outright without a contract/service plan? 2) if I bought it outright, can I just use it with my cable modem, and possibly just add a data plan on the fly if the cable ever goes down?
  10. Oh we can only hope. I've been waiting for around 2 years for the full triband experience around here. Someone (I think) caught a whiff of the USCC spectrum the day after the shutdown. I don't think anything has happened since, and it's definitely not market-wide. Things should be rolling here shortly. 41 is still pretty awesome in the city, and 26 will be welcomed with open arms. IMHO, 26 is way more important than 41. I want the coverage fill in/building coverage more than 60mbps. Nobody needs that. Although, it is fantastic for capacity. Give me a solid 5mbps everywhere I go, and I'm a happy Sprint customer. You can do almost anything on a phone with those speeds.
  11. That's a good theory about releasing it with the next ota. They're probably thinking, "this update only applies to sprint customers. All the other (average) customers will be calling/emailing/tweeting support staff wondering what it does."
  12. It's not just the lack of fiber that can hold up sites. Permit issues are usually the other cause. Not every tower sits in the middle of a field. Towers on privately owned buildings, water towers, high tension power structures, etc. Plus, it's usually easier to get fiber to the middle of that field than it is to an inner-city area.

Hopefully, it fixes the bad call quality, tinny ear piece, Bluetooth crackling, and gps problems.

    LG G2 Users Thread!

Since this is my first android, when a new operating system becomes available, does it upgrade your phone, or wipe it completely clean? Will I lose everything when upgrading?
  16. Ups my choice is awesome. Any shipment coming to my house shows up in the app automatically without having to dig for the tracking number. And, it emails me the information.
  17. Just got my first, real framily bill. My discounts were only $5/line instead of $30/line. The csr quickly fixed the problem, and credited my account. Pretty painless.
  18. Spigen has their cases for the S5 out now. http://www.spigen.com/brands/samsung/galaxy/galaxy-s5.html
  19. What is this? I'm at work and can't search sites. Please tell us, wise one.
  20. I usually just live by the philosophy of: if there are drunks around or water, phone stays in pocket.
  21. Looks like mostly metro areas. Hopefully, something went haywire while getting ready to turn on 26
  22. AppleCare is nice, just don't lose your phone. That's the only reason I don't have it.
  23. He said it during the keynote. "Now, you can download that 1gb movie in 30 seconds, even before your popcorn is finished popping." Who does this?
  24. It's doubtful that Sprint would have baked-in band selection on this new "whatever it's called" feature. It will most likely just be whatever band you're on will become part of combo.
  25. When I heard this combined wifi+LTE during the keynote, I cringed. AJ is right. Why do people need to be on both, hogging mobile resources? This is a huge mistake from a flagship device. Millions will be buying this phone, and those millions will never be completely off the mobile network.
