  1. I hate the grammar cops, but that one letter made it a completely different statement. And yes, all fines are to be made payable to: "s4gru."
  2. That was a statement that really required the use of "than."
  3. http://m.gsmarena.com/htc_one_m8_prime_to_have_a_ceramic_body-news-8561.php A ceramic body, and LTE speeds up to 300mbps. Carrier aggregation? Edit: just found this article: http://m.androidcentral.com/htc-one-m8-prime-rumored-exotic-material-composition-faster-lte Cat 6 LTE. Sweet. Sent from my Nexus 5
  4. The release on the 23rd was a mysterious source rumor, and the retraction is a rumor. There's still no concrete evidence about the update. All we have are the hopes and dreams of s4gru members. Well that, and the countless "click bait" articles that show up every few hours. Sent from my Nexus 5
  5. It's low. The site was either being hammered by other triband users, or the site hasn't had it's backhaul upgraded. Sent from my Nexus 5
  6. He said it switched over to b26 before the test finished. And under optimal conditions, I would think 5 miles is possible. Sent from my Nexus 5

In the video posted above, you'll see the guy messing with the contacts on the battery cover. I didn't touch those at all. Where those contacts meet the phone, that's what I messed with. They are incredibly small, fragile contacts. Use something really thin and sharp to bend them upwards. A razor blade will work. There are 6 of them around the edge of the phone. When I say they're fragile, I mean it. Be careful. My nexus 5 has phenomenal GPS, and now my g2 is the same way.

So I decided to try the "bending the contacts on the board" approach to fixing my GPS. For the moment, it seems that it worked. There were 6 total contacts, and I accidentally broke 1 off. Doesn't seem to matter. Thanks for the advice, guys. Edit: I forgot to mention, this was indoors
  9. Pardon my ignorance, but why does dish network own wireless spectrum? What is it used for?
  10. There was an update to the page last time shortly after the failed release mid-April. I think they just changed some source code or something which in turn, changed the "updated" date at the top.
  11. Hopefully, this is the week n5 owners have been waiting for. I've only been an owner for about a month, but I know many of you have been waiting since what, November? Bring it. Tomorrow would be cool. The rumored release of Friday seems strange. A Monday would make more sense, right?
  12. Just download "file manager" from the play store. Most phones also come with some variant of a file manager, though. If not, just download one.
  13. Once they're exported from within the app, you'll find a folder called "signalcheck" on your local storage. There will be two files within that folder.

Not from the phone, you need a computer with the lg drivers, and basic flasher. No root needed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521276
  15. Excellent. I'll be there in September. Hopefully, coverage on the strip improves. I was there 9/2012 and had excellent WiMAX on my virgin mobile hotspot in my room at Paris.
  16. A faster speed doesn't mean more data is used. You get your requested data faster, but it doesn't actually consume more data, contrary to popular belief. Sent from my Nexus 5
  17. Holy smokes. Sent from my Nexus 5
  18. In the engineering screen, you should see download/upload as 8315, and 26315 for the second carrier.

That seems kind of thick. Did the cover go back on ok?
  20. If you're still in the area, keep checking. Maybe do a few airplane toggles. The network will decide what carrier to put you on, but you might get lucky. Also, in signal check, you should enable the logging feature and check it at the end of the day to see the gci of sites you've connected to throughout the day. You'll be looking for the numbers I posted above.
  21. Around here, band 26 gci will end in 0F/10/11, band 25 will be 00/01/02, second band 25 pcs carrier will be 03/04/05
  22. That's a very odd screenshot. You have the frequency for the second carrier, but have a gci like you're on band 26. This might break all thought we had of the second carrier being 03/04/05. Maybe you caught signal check floating between the second carrier and band 26.

I've never dropped either of my g2's. Strange.

I tried that fix a few weeks ago. I put little folded squares of a post-it note behind the contacts on the battery cover. Maybe it wasn't thick enough to make a solid contact (that's what she said). I haven't tried bending the actual contacts on the board of the phone. I shouldn't have to rig brass contacts to get gps to work. That seems like such a massive production fail. When I got my replacement unit, the gps was working great for a day, now nothing. Maybe it's software related. The guy at Sprint told me it's in their system that kitkat broke the gps on the g2. He also blamed an incomplete spark network for my location issues. I'll try bending the board contacts when I get home. I really want to daily drive this phone because of band 41, but it's amazing how you realize how much you need location services working when you're out and about on the weekend, and not having them is bad.
