  1. Nah, I'm marrying a lady, but I'm cool with it. It's like a football kind of butt smack. "Good signal penetration out there today, bro."
  2. This is one of the funniest s4gru conversations ever.
  3. How do you know? Was b26 in the gym locker room with you?
  4. Magenta loses signal in a car. I'd be afraid to try in this cinder block room
  5. I think the news said over a million people were there. It's doubtful any cellular network was functioning during the parade.
  6. If band 26 was a person, I'd give her a hug, and a small pat on the rear. I'm in a supply room at my fiance's work in Oakbrook. 4 cinder block walls where she used to get Sprint 1x/Verizon roaming data. Now it's -108dBm b26 with 8mbps speeds.
  7. Second carrier, too. Excellent. Glad to see it spreading north.
  8. But not $100 in one shot. It's a total of at least that much.
  9. I reported band 26 in a few spots in nw Indiana a few weeks ago over in our premier thread. It's definitely live in some places. Some remote places, too.

    LG G3

I absolutely loved my g2. If it didn't have serious GPS issues and a weak radio, I would have kept it. That battery was so great. I can't wait to try this phone in a store even though I'm loving this m8 at the moment. I, too, am a self-proclaimed phone whore, and it's a problem.
  11. There seems to be some kind of LTE outage in the south suburbs. Started around 0330. Anyone else having an issue? Connecting to LTE isn't the issue, it seems the connection is just dead everywhere. 3G works.
  12. What annoys me is when you get a notification about a like, it doesn't take you to the post that was liked upon clicking the notification
  13. But shouldn't the tower automatically switch me? Or would that disrupt the data stream, so it doesn't switch me.
  14. Does anyone have a problem where if you're using data while driving, you're attached to band 26, and you're traveling through a known band 41 area, but the phone refuses to leave band 26? I found it will only connect to 41 after the data session stops. I drive while using tunein (broken truck radio) and this phone clamps down on band 26 like a hungry pit bull, completely bypassing all the band 41 sites.
  15. Maybe there was just a heavier load on the sector today than there normally is. There are so many wireless quality of service variables out there that a lower speedtest, or 2-3dBm loss can hardly ever be blamed on an updated radio.
  16. My friend from NIU is home for summer break and has a g2. I tried showing him how to check bands, but he couldn't care less. He did say service has recently improved around campus, though.
  17. This seems to be a common complaint in these forums and elsewhere. You just can't have thousands of people in one area trying to use a limited resource. Especially on a 5x5 configuration. Band 41 would have helped there. I'm sure the other providers are suffering, too.
  18. Yeah. I've found 26 at least once in most of the south/west/southwest burbs. I live in Willowbrook and travel around Darien, Downers Grove, Oakbrook, etc., almost daily and all I can say is, it's in fact out there. Edit: it's quite impressive what has happened around here in the last 2 months. The second carrier is pretty widespread, as well as 26. As Tommy has mentioned above, I have posted numerous locations in our premier thread where I've found things. I'm a local truck driver, and the perfect candidate for searching for all things network vision.
  19. Any 26 sightings in downtown chicago? We don't have many members reporting the actual city. Just the outlying areas.
  20. It's definitely improving on a daily basis. If you have a triband device, or at least an iPhone 5s/5c you should be fine. Band 41 is quite prevalent in the Chicagoland area, and new band 26 and the second pcs carrier are coming online daily.
  21. It's so desolate out there that they didn't even bother naming the road?
  22. Quick question: does this m8 suffer from the same problem that the spark nexus 5 suffers from where if you're next handoff doesn't have a CSFB patch, it will drop to 3G? The reason I ask is because near my house, I have unbelievably fast, reliable service. Band 26 just hit the second furthest tower from me, and while traveling close to home on 26, it dropped to 3G on my street--which has never happened before. Any thoughts? I wonder if they turned on 26 on my home tower, and it hasn't been patched yet.
