  1. I thought they did. The site has to be tied in to the rest of Sprint's network for voice and text. Sent from my LG-LS980
  2. Definitely a lack of csfb on that site. The .15 radio on the nexus will connect to it, ignoring csfb issues where your spark enabled g2 will not connect to maintain a proper network connection. Sent from my LG-LS980

    LG G2 Users Thread!

That "bending the contacts" trick worked for my first g2, then stopped working. Got a replacement g2, GPS didn't work, did that fix, GPS worked for few days, then stopped again. Something isn't right, and I'm thinking it's on a software and hardware level. I need reliable location services at work, so I bought an m8 online last night. It's a shame because I love the g2. The battery is amazing. Sent from my LG-LS980
  4. Yes. Also, are the tower id's that we use here the same that Sprint would use? Might be easier for reference. Sent from my LG-LS980
  5. I've found a dead sector on one of my daily towers. It's becoming quite annoying. It's the "02" (g-block pcs/gamma sector). Now that this particular tower is broadcasting 3 5x5 LTE carriers, I think the techs messed something up. Been like this for over a week. Anyone know of a good way to report this? Maybe Dan@Sprint? I wouldn't dare call tech support with this. They'll probably have me do a prl update. Sent from my LG-LS980
  6. Sprint doesn't turn on any LTE unless the site has upgraded backhaul. If it's on-and-off, then it could be in testing. Sent from my LG-LS980

    LG G3

I've seen posts like this floating around this forum, and they're wrong. 8t8r is a term for the antennas that Sprint is implementing on nv sites. Every triband phone can connect to these sites the same way you would connect to a Clear band 41 site. I connect to several of these nv 2.0 sites with 8t8r radios every day in Chicago. Maybe you mean carrier aggregation? If that's the case, then yes, the phone needs compatibility with cat 6 LTE, and those should start being released in the fall. Sent from my LG-LS980
  8. I have a few sites here in Chicago that act the same way. You'll get it after an airplane toggle because of your phone's scan priority, but then the network deems that you shouldn't be there because 25 is probably ok. If 25 is shot to hell, network prioritization isn't in place yet, and will probably be activated soon. Sent from my LG-LS980

  10. Second band 25 pcs carrier in Chicago market (former uscc spectrum) Sent from my LG-LS980
  11. Over the long weekend, just about every tower I connected to had the second pcs carrier broadcasting. This is from willowbrook, to oak brook, Carol stream, down to Orland/tinley, evergreen park/Beverly, to other parts of the far south side of Chicago. Crazy. I wish I could correlate 26 with that second carrier, but that's not always the case. While I did find some 26 in new areas, I think they're firing up the second carrier first because that truly benefits every LTE device, then coming back around and turning on 26 and filling in the holes.
  12. 6mbps is hardly at capacity. Sent from my Nexus 5
  13. There could have been other people on band 26, also. Sent from my Nexus 5
  14. You must be rooted with a recovery installed, such as twrp: -download flashify from the play store. -download the radio zip files from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/modem-nexus-5-flashable-modems-efs-t2514095 -open flashify and select flash then zip file. Find the appropriate modem on your local storage, then just follow the prompts. It will boot into recovery, flash the modern, then boot as normal. The whole process takes about 1 minute. Sent from my Nexus 5
  15. It does increase your signal, so you might fallback to 26 less based on coverage, but if the tower thinks you need 26 for capacity, it should switch over. Sent from my Nexus 5
  16. Simple: put down the phone and enjoy the rides. I'd actually leave my phone in the car. Nothing worse than having a $600 device fall out of your pocket, have the screen smashed while being jarred around, or submerged on a water ride. Sent from my LG-LS980
  17. Maybe a teaser "yes or no" regarding any pending band 26 map updates when you get back? Sent from my LG-LS980
  18. I've heard 15 and 17. I guess that's where my confusion comes from. Sent from my LG-LS980
  19. I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but you guys have band 26 lighting up like crazy, and seemingly have a ton of nexus 5 users. Which radio is working best for connecting to it? I can't seem to get a straight answer. Thanks. Sent from my LG-LS980
  20. Did they have a Wi-Fi system in place? Sent from my LG-LS980
  21. A lot can change in a year, especially with network vision. Towers in the area may have not been upgraded to LTE yet, and now there's certainty that the towers are LTE with a potential for band 26 and the second pcs carrier. Please report back on how it was and what network connections you encounter. Sent from my LG-LS980
  22. I wouldn't mess with these American providers and their add-on plans and such. Just bring your empty n5. There will surely be some kind of shop at the airport there selling sims, or maybe at the hotel. Thousands of American tourists are looking for SIM cards there everyday, and you can almost be positive they'll be readily available everywhere. Sent from my LG-LS980
  23. Hold "location" and choose "battery saving." It's not as precise as GPS, but with your Wi-Fi antenna on, and network triangulation, you should be fine for most apps. Sent from my LG-LS980
  24. Do we know what it means if towers have 3 upgrades? 2 data, 1 voice. I've never noticed that before.
  25. Does anyone know what to look for while connected to 1x800/RTT or ehrpd to determine if I'm on any uscc spectrum for voice or data? Sent from my LG-LS980
