  1. WCS is paired spectrum though. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  2. Changing 4G LTE logos will not make software updates longer. It is so simple to modify the 4G LTE icons. All you need to do is edit the SystemUI.apk and choose the .png files that you want for your logos and rename the 4G icon png file you like to the name that Sprint is calling out. See the thread below if you are interested. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3074-change-4g-symbol-on-android-devices/?p=195233
  3. I am getting the white one not because it would hide fingerprints (not going to matter anyways since I will have a case) although it is a plus but because I have always had dark phones (blue or black). I just wanted a change and I actually think the white LG G2 looks very nice.
  4. LOL probably. Although its nice to be able to view stuff and have some protection for the screen, I just wouldn't be able to stand the constant flipping of the case and having to hold the front face of the case constantly with my hand when I use my phone.
  5. No idea but I am going to get the Spigen Slim Armor case. Its got the word slim in it...so its got to be. Amirite?
  6. So far I have read the tech reviews who think the HTC One max is mehh but I don't really think it matters all that much. Remember that the tech blogs all care about specs and small features that they expect so if it not mind blowing they are not impressed. I am still impressed with the small things that they did: moving the power button to the side, adding microSD slot, experimenting with fingerprint scanner, etc. People who have been waiting for a phablet like screen, triband LTE, great battery and microSD card slot will still get the HTC One max regardless of the Snapdragon 600 or lack of OIS in the camera because the processor is still plenty fast for what it can do. I also don't think the lack of a stylus is a deterrent away from getting the HTC One max since most of the Galaxy Note uses don't use the S-pen that much anyways. At the end of the day we are all here on S4GRU because of the LTE network bands and finally we have a phablet that supports all 3 LTE bands for 2013. If we didn't care about the LTE network bands then a lot of us probably would have gotten the Galaxy Note 3. I know for me personally I decided to sacrifice my want for a phablet phone just because of the lack of triband LTE network support.
  7. Its got the same 4G LTE logo as the Note 3. I don't like the arrows that sit out on the side to show the traffic. I much prefer the old orange and green colored arrows underneath the 4G icon.
  8. According to the video review around the 1:10 mark on the Verge, the US carriers will be getting the 32 GB model while the international models will be getting the 16 GB model. So it looks like you are in luck. The question is what the price will be on and off contract. Hopefully it is the $600 off contract price that you are hoping for. http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/14/4836286/htc-one-max-review
  9. You have to check the SID for the 1x section at that moment. If the SID starts in the 22XXX range, then you truly have 1x800 voice.
  10. Now if only the US govt can get their !#@$ straight and come to an agreement so that they can open up the FCC database once again so we can take a look at the RF performance specs of this phone.
  11. The Snapdragon 600 chip will not be dead in 6 months. It will only appear to be "dead" in 6 months because there will always be something better. You say right now that the Snapdragon 800 chip is the best thing since sliced bread but come 6 months from now in May 2014 when the GS5 and HTC Two comes out with the latest Qualcomm chip they announce at CES 2014 you will say the Snapdragon 800 is obsolete. Qualcomm would have come out with a chip that does what the Snapdragon 800 does but even more power efficient or the chip itself can pack more features. There is no point in trying to keep up with the latest and greatest in technology because the duration you hold onto the phone device will never be long enough to outlast the next best thing. Also please don't judge the HTC One max until you have tried it at the store because you don't know how it truly feels until you have played with it in person. You are making a lot of assumptions about what people will think.
  12. So the Nexus 5 will be sold at Sprint stores I take it? I do hope the Sprint version will also be sold on Google Play store. It would be a bummer if it wasn't. The question for those that are thinking of getting the Nexus 5....if the Nexus 5 is only going to be sold at Sprint stores and not on the Google Play Store for $149 or $199 with 2 year contract, would you still get it? Also even if the Nexus 5 is sold at Sprint stores, what is to stop you from buying the Nexus 5 online since it has LTE bands to support ATT, Tmobile and Sprint on the same device and taking it to a Sprint store to activate it? Could it possibly not have the MEIDs from the Nexus 5 devices bought from the Play store?
  13. Thank the front facing dual stereo speakers. Given that it is probably the best placement for speakers on a smartphone in most circumstances but then the trade off is making the device longer than it needs to be. Personally I would rather have dual speakers on the bottom and reduce the height of the phone but given the shape of the way the HTC One was built that is not possible.
  14. Maybe the guys would want the 6+ phones to carry around so that they can hear all the girls say ..."Thats huge!!" where ever they go.
  15. Thanks. I see it now. Yeah that has got to be an error on the US site for both Sprint and Verizon. Verizon is also missing the AWS LTE support on the US page that was already listed to be supported in the global and UK site. But then again the US site is also missing the AT&T model which is still up in the air.
  16. I wouldn't discount the LG Optimus G Pro being a failure just yet. The LG Optimus G Pro was only sold on the worst carrier possible, AT&T, which I am not trying to put them on a negative light but given that AT&T has the most iPhone customers of the 4 major carriers, I can see why sales of the LG Optimus G Pro were not as good as it could have been since most upgrades are going to be used on the iPhone. I think if it was sold on Verizon and/or Sprint the LG Optimus G Pro might have gained some traction especially since the phone was quickly discounted for $99 on 2 year contract. If LG can do its magic and make the LG Optimus G Pro 2 or LG G Pro 2 as good as how they made the LG G2 and make it available on all 4 major carriers then I think it can do well. It will have the latest Snapdragon chip in 2014 and to be honest the grip of the LG Optimus G Pro is more to my liking than the Galaxy Note. For some reason LG is able to make the width of the LG Optimus G Pro to be only 76 mm W vs. Galaxy Note 2 which was 80 mm W so it feels like I am not stretching my fingers to grip it. The Galaxy Note 3 made some strides to close the gap at 78 mm W but still wider than the LG Optimus G Pro. Also Sony is failing in the phablet game because their Xperia Z Ultra screen size is just too massive at 6.4 inches and not only that but at the same time its too paper thin. The dimensions of the phone are just too ridiculous to hold with one hand. It is way thinner than the iPhone 5S so people were saying its hard to get a good grip on the phone. These 6+ inch phablet phones need to fail so that no OEM tries attempts to make larger screens. The majority of customers do not want 6+ inch phones.
  17. Sprint press release that announces the HTC One Max. http://investors.sprint.com/file.aspx?iid=4057219&fid=20170040
  18. No it is not. You were relying on what you saw earlier. The US site shows Sprint version has triband LTE support. http://www.htc.com/www/smartphones/htc-one-max/#specs
  19. Interesting that the US HTC site doesn't list AT&T as a carrier. Again could be one of those weird small intricacies that were left out. I'll assume AT&T will get it as well. Also it said on the UK site that AT&T will have LTE 2600 band support. I wonder what that is all about. The question now becomes why was Tmobile left out of the picture assuming AT&T gets the HTC One Max as well?
  20. Not sure where u heard that LTE 2600 was a switch. It was very clear in the beginning that new rrus needed to be installed to support TD LTE Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  21. I am sure that Best Buy will want that gift card back if you cancel the order. I think this question always comes out in anything that has to do with getting a gift card for a purchase especially around black friday. Someone always asks if they can buy an item, get the gift card and return the original item and keep the gift card. I think in 99% of these cases this always fails and they end up having to return the gift card. I mean for gosh sakes the gift card is listed on the receipt... as an item.
  22. I wouldn't be worried about what HTC does in the future. What Palm and Blackberry shared in common was that they were both trying to support their own OS's that did not gain popularity which ultimately lead to their demise because of software. HTC on the other hand is 100% supporting Android and as long as HTC makes smartphones with Android in it they will do fine. I think their stint with making Windows phones are over due to the poor sales and the direction of Microsoft with Windows Phone OS. This way HTC can focus on making great devices and hopefully beefing up their marketing campaign for their Android phones. The HTC One and the HTC One Max will have good support. In fact the HTC One just recently got the Android 4.3 upgrade and I expect both the HTC One and HTC One Max to get the 4.4 Android update early 2014.
  23. Where did you read that AT&T was getting it as well? The HTC website only lists Sprint and Verizon.
  24. Not sure but you should try calling Sprint Care at 888-876-8381 OR go to a Sprint store and ask them. How often do you plan on swapping between plans?
  25. We have news on the specs and possible release date of the HTC One Max today. I guess that filled the quota for big smartphone news for today.
