  1. We also have to look for the specs too. If all it is doing is just replacing the original GS4 specs with triband LTE then I would pass on the GS4. No point of getting the Snapdragon 600 chip, 2600 maH battery, and 13 MP cam with Digital Image stabilization. But then again you would be able to get a removable battery and SD card slot so that is the pros of this. So it really depends on what you want. Also nothing is official until Sprint puts a release date or confirmation of when they will start selling this revised GS4 version. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 has been announced on Sprint for at least 1.5 months with no release date in sight.
  2. The MSL reader apps are pretty outdated and work for only specific devices or older Android versions. I have been trying to find an most up to date way of getting your MSL but so far I haven't found it yet. There are very few MSL reader apps out there and they are all outdated by at least a year to 2.
  3. Just call Sprint or ask in Sprint chat like I advised you to. The Sprint CSRs have access to the information to tell you your MSL code.
  4. Same here. Although I doubt it given that they just started selling the Note 3. At least the original GS4 was sold 6 months ago.
  5. Thanks for the article but at this point, I am committed to the LG G2. The reviews have convinced me to stay with the LG G2. I am pretty sure this GS4 version will have the same exact specs like the original GS4 like the Snapdragon 600, 2 GB RAM, etc, 13 MP cam with Digital Image Stabilization, same 2600 maH battery, etc.
  6. MSL = Master Subsidy Lock. The MSL 6 digit code allows you to make changes to various engineering settings that are on your phone and one of the options is LTE Band settings. The MSL code has been in use for a long time and is specific to each device. You can't use another person's MSL code to unlock the settings on your phone. There are various ways to get your MSL code such as through Sprint chat/phone or Android apps that can read the MSL code in your device. For my Photon 4G, I used a program called CDMA workshop to be able to extract your MSL code that is specific to your device. I hear the easiest way to get your MSL code nowadays is to call into Sprint and tell them that you are a developer and you need the MSL code to modify some changes to your phone.
  7. The big question is when is Sprint going to start making CSIM cards the default SIM card of choice for all LTE phones. So far we hear of the iPhone 5S/5C using this system but the Note 3 and LG G2 appear to still use USIM. I expect the HTC One max to use USIM as well. I just hope by the time the HTC Two and GS5 come rolling around in April 2014 that they start using CSIM cards.
  8. If you have your MSL code, you can manually enable LTE bands 26 and 41 and this was confirmed to be true in the XDA thread below. However we still need confirmation once people have devices activated on the Sprint network if manually enabling LTE bands 26 and 41 truly allow you to use those LTE networks or whether we truly need a firmware update to enable LTE bands 26 and 41. Check out the XDA thread below and see the screenshot as proof. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46351750&postcount=26
  9. Right the specs on their website and app say that but the FCC docs and AJ's G2 article show that wireless ac support is available. Again its just one of those mistakes that the LG staff and Sprint on their info page made.
  10. Sprint LG G2 is 32 GB. LG even has it posted in their specs on their website. http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-LS980-White-g2
  11. Well Tmobile is in 4th place so they have to shake things up to try to attract customers. One of the biggest pet peeves of consumers is the 2 year service contracts and having to wait every 2 years to upgrade your phone device. Tmobile noticed this and provided a solution but I am sure Tmobile USA's inspiration comes from the European model of cell phone service where people are not tied to cell phone contracts and pay for their cell phones. I don't really understand what you expect Sprint to do to revolutionize cell phone service. They are still stuck on the 2 year model contract and the only way I see Sprint breaking out of that is that a huge rush of Verizon, ATT, and Tmobile customers start flocking to Tmobile because that is the cell phone service model that most Americans prefer.
  12. Yeah I brought up this app last week in the post below about confirmation of triband being disabled at launch. I didn't have a chance to take a screenshot and post it but thanks for doing that. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4099-lg-g2-the-first-sprint-tri-band-lte-handset-was-lg-optimus-g2/?p=222411
  13. I agree with you. I much rather have 4 national carriers than a 3 national carriers. I like that Tmobile is out there to challenge the big 2 and Sprint to change the way the wireless industry does things. Look at what Tmobile has accomplished this year being the uncarrier. 1. They have forced the 3 other major wireless carriers come up with a "JUMP" like program for early upgrades. 2. They are quickly building out their LTE network in the urban areas in the major markets. 3. They have offered free global roaming of data and texting in over 100 countries (granted it is 2G capped at 128 Kbps...which is still better than nothing). 4. They have offered nice simply choice plans which a family of 4 can get 4 smartphones with 500 MB of fast 4G data for only $100 ($180 after phone subsidy). As a result of all this Tmobile has been gaining customers who are tired of the BS that Verizon and AT&T has put up. Tmobile is a good thing for the wireless industry and I would hate to see it gobbled up by Sprint. I am very curious to see what else Tmobile has up their sleeve to try to play catch up.
  14. Should have known not to get the Note 3 which is single band LTE. The Note 3 thread in this forum was all over it. That is the single reason why I didn't get the Note 3 because I couldn't stand for the next 2 years to have a phone that is only single band LTE especially since I live in an area where LTE of all 3 frequencies should be launching soon.
  15. Do you mean to say end of 2014 for nationwide LTE because that is the earliest I can see that happening given the progress of NV and all the delays that are occurring. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  16. I don't know if this helps but it was hinted for awhile in the link below. See the pic below at the bottom and in the link (for a better close up picture) where it says on 10/11/13, the Everything Data and Simply Everything plans were expiring. Sure enough on 10/11/13, the plans did officially expire. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4664-sprint-one-up-programbreaking-news-response-to-jumpedgenext/?p=205342
  17. Sprint and tmobile both have the mic on top and are the same thing. AT&T is just slightly different with the back mic. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  18. Well the thing is I have the SERO Plan so I couldn't upgrade through 3rd parties like Best Buy like you could. Believe me if I could upgrade and preorder the G2 through Best Buy I would have done a long time ago around the same time you did just to ensure I got the $50 Best Buy gift card. It sucks that I have to pay the normal price of $199 but its the sacrifice you make to keep your plan.
  19. AHHHHHH!!!!! I gave in and couldn't wait any longer. I preordered through Sprint Telesales. I have officially joined the LG G2 club. I ordered in white.
  20. Wrong. It doesn't have a mic on the back. These are pics from Best Buy of a Sprint LG G2 white floor model that was working. As you can see the 2nd picture confirms the model number LS980 and the first picture confirms the mic is on the top part. The guy who "claimed" he had the Sprint model has the AT&T model. Also take a look at the pics from Best Buy. The back picture doesn't show a mic. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/g2-mobile-phone/1710032.p?id=1219061251692&skuId=1710032&st=gift-card-with-lg-g2-112307/category_facet=2|cat00000|abcat0800000|pcmcat209400050001&cp=1&lp=2&contract_desc=#tab=overview
  21. You can preorder the G2 at sprint store for $99? Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  22. Haha..yeah your post is confusing since you talked about an AT&T Note 3 yesterday so I assume you are on AT&T. If so then why would triband even be an issue in the first place.
