  1. HAHA. I guess Yoshi-san is paying attention to that XDA thread as well. Your welcome for me engaging in that conversation. At least that is some good news and he has all B25, B26 and B41 LTE bands enabled.
  2. So are you saying that prior to enabling B26 and B41 on your phone, you had perfect B25 LTE connection. So now that perhaps enabling B26 and B41 bands has permanently screwed up the firmware for B25 LTE even if you disable B26 and B41 LTE bands? I mean I get that perhaps enabling B26 and B41 could cause issues at the moment which is why it was disabled by default. What I don't understand is why after you re-disable B26 and B41 bands you are still having B25 LTE issues if that was truly the culprit. Its makes it appear as if manually enabling B26 and B41 has permanently damaged something that prevents B25 from working again. This seems really strange.
  3. Could it be possible that Sprint is not authorizing any LG G2's SKUs to authenticate to LTE at this moment? I do remember seeing earlier today that people were observing that their LG G2 was not registered in the system.
  4. It is sounding more like an LTE authentication issue with the SIM card. Hopefully a quick call to Sprint can help straighten this out. If not I suppose you can't activate a new SIM and try it out?
  5. Why do people think the Nexus 5 is being delayed? Google probably had an internal date they had all along and in their eyes it is not delayed. Just because there were rumors about an Oct 15th announcement doesn't mean that every day after Oct 15th means it is delayed. Those rumors were just baseless speculation and the fact that tech blogs didn't get invites to a Google event at least a week before Oct 15th was enough of a clue that nothing was to be expected on Oct 15th. Besides there was talk about an Amazon reviewer that said he had a NDA which said he can't talk about the Nexus 5 until Oct 25th which tells me that the phone has always meant to be announced after Oct 25th. I am guessing we will hear something about the Nexus 5 within the next 2 weeks.
  6. Sounds like this issue needs to be reported to Sprint. Perhaps there is a firmware update in the works to help with LTE connectivity issues and maybe available on launch day or shortly after. It seems like too big of an issue to let it slip like that.
  7. Is there anything you need from the future LG G2 users that can help you get to this point?
  8. Great post. I never thought about that. Perhaps it is probably not a good idea to enable B26 and B41 by default especially if you are not in an area where B26 and/or B41 LTE network exists. It could explain the reason why Sprint had B26 and B41 LTE bands disabled by default since they knew it had different LTE threshold behaviors and didn't plan on enabling these 2 LTE bands until they felt that there was enough B26 and B41 LTE in the US. I would like to see those who have the LG G2 already do some more testing with disabling B26 and B41 LTE bands and see if it improves B25 LTE performance/reception in the same exact location. Maybe we can get to the bottom of these observations. If it turns out that disabling B26 and B41 LTE bands improves B25 LTE reception it will make me think twice of enabling both LTE bands at this time. Since I know in the area where I live there is some B41 LTE, I might just enable B41 and leave B26 disabled until there is some confirmation that B26 LTE exists in my area.
  9. The HTC Thunderbolt was only an abomination due to the very poor battery life. That has nothing to do with RF performance. RF performance seemed to be fine on the HTC Thunderbolt. Because it was a first generation LTE chipset that had consumed a lot of power it resulted in being a huge battery drainer and skewing the tech review results which ultimately didn't recommend the device because of the very poor battery life. I am failing to see the connection between the HTC Thunderbolt and the LG G2 in terms of RF performance though.
  10. I think your hypothesis that has yet to be proven yet. Since none of the sample sizes we have thus far are in LTE B41 areas to verify this, we don't know how the phone reacts when it is connected to B41 and then hands off to B25 or vice versa to see how LTE reception is like at that moment. Since B41 has completely separate antennas than B25 and B26, I don't see how that has anything to do with it.
  11. No. None of the triband LTE devices such as the LG G2, Galaxy Mega 6.3, Nexus 5, GS4 triband and GS4 mini have SVLTE support.
  12. Thanks for the clarification. I agree that if the issue can be rectified by modifying the Band 25 thresholds and then push out an update hopefully that should fix the Band 25 LTE issues.
  13. I wouldn't overreact to the situation yet. Remember we have just 1 or 2 sample sizes here and its a bit pre mature to assume the LG G2 is a dud. Remember that in AJ's article, his analysis shows that the LG G2 has pretty good B25 LTE output. I am sure if there are any issues that Sprint will release a firmware update shortly. We still don't know if these LTE connectivity issues are in strong LTE areas like -75 to -80 dBm RSRP and/or near cell edges like -115 to -120 dBm RSRP. If the issues is just isolated to near cell edge signal strengths then perhaps the issue is the threshold is not set high enough than what we are used to and that can be changed via firmware settings.
  14. Yes that is true. This was a known issue though (no pun intended). This seems to be the way going forward for triband LTE devices. The Verizon one is different since it is not triband.
  15. Can you elaborate on what you mean by this? Are you having B25 connection issues maintaining even a strong LTE signal OR just a cell edge LTE signal? What is your signal reading when you are experiencing these connection issues? I would be very worried if the device is having B25 connection issues if it the area is reading a -80 RSRP for LTE. Remember that we don't know what the thresholds are set for the maximum weakest signal for B25 LTE. Perhaps this is what is leading to the issues.
  16. Interesting findings thus far. It kinda contradicts AJ's findings in his LG G2 article where he analyzed the FCC results where he says that B25 LTE looks to be pretty good. Hopefully this is just the first few days of the device and any issues can be resolved with a firmware update.
  17. Any new info on this device? Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  18. Oh yeah I remember you, you were worried about Sprint getting rid of the $100 port in credit on Oct 10th and ported over your lines over before the credit expired. The whole point of Sprint putting an end date is a marketing tactic to persuade customers that you don't have forever to decide. Well the $100 port in credit for new customers got renewed just like I said it would and is now through Dec 31st. After that it will be renewed again and again. Sprint needs customers and I don't see Sprint ending this promotion anytime soon. The good thing for you about signing up before Oct 10th is that you got grandfathered into the Everything Data plans which will be good for you when you upgrade 2 years from now.
  19. HAHAH I would if I had the stinkin device.
  20. Mines is still stuck at the warehouse but then again I just preordered on the 19th so ill be getting it later than you guys. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  21. I don't like to look at past history as a basis to whether future smartphones will be able to get CM support. The LG OG didn't get as much love as it should have had in the US simply because it was only sold on Sprint and AT&T. Selling on AT&T is useless since there are too many iPhone users on that carrier. The LG OG wasn't even announced in the US but in Korea and it was only later on that we found out that the US was getting it. It was LG's first major high end flagship smartphone so I expected a lot of folks not to bite on the LG bandwagon despite the Nexus 4 being based off of it. I can't even remember what the reviews were on the LG OG either. I think the LG G2 is a completely different device and it was clearly marketed to all the major carriers in the US hence the NYC event in August. With its great specs and great tech reviews overall, it sure has generated a lot of buzz and certainly there are lot of folks picking up the LG G2 device as seen in the LG G2 XDA thread. Heck I see the LG G2 advertised on football games on Sunday. With the Verizon and International variants getting CM 10.2 support today, I have a strong feeling that the AT&T and Tmobile will follow suit soon. When the Sprint version is released, I am sure there will be some devs that will development ROMs for it. The Sprint, Tmobile and AT&T versions seem to be pretty close to each other so I don't expect a lot of major tweaks needed.
  22. Yeah but I don't know how long ago he got the GS4. If its back in May, then you can't get mad because at the time we didn't know if there was going to be a triband GS4 version.
  23. That is very good to hear. Although I hear the Verizon version, people are getting stuck in roaming...which is not good. I am sure it will be fixed soon. I just hope CM releases a ATT, Tmobile and Sprint version with the bugs fixed.
  24. Why are you not happy with this news? Its a triband GS4 for those that want a GS4.
  25. I assume you can't add information about the LG G2 yet to that UICC Compatibility Matrix?
