  1. How do you add the Debug and Testing shortcuts?
  2. Anything coming from the OG Photon and Wimax phone is a huge improvement. For me the LG G2 would be almost double the battery size of the OG Photon.
  3. Just shoot down the ATT, Verizon and Tmobile towers. While you are at it...help out Sprint and shoot down the Nextel iDEN junk.
  4. At this point I read mixed reviews on the Nexus 5 battery life. Some tech reviewers say the battery is mediocre and some say it is alright. I haven't read a tech review that said the battery is great though. Some people in forums like XDA say it has been great and some say its just meh. I don't know who to believe any more. I guess if it turns out the battery is just meh on the Nexus 5 then you have to ask yourself what is most important, the battery life or pure stock Android. To me battery life is more important coming from the Photon 4G which had horrible battery life. So for me I got the LG G2 since its got high end specs and with community dev support for the G2, they should have CM, AOSP, other custom ROMs if I really want that vanilla flavor of Android. Sure it will take a bit longer to get the latest version of Android than a Nexus device but I am not always in a rush to get the latest and greatest since Android versions tend to have bugs in the first iteration of the software, hence the 4.1.x, 4.2.x, 4.3.x versions of Jelly Bean. I have no doubts that KitKat will have Android version 4.4.x versions very soon to patch up some bugs that did not make it to final release of 4.4.
  5. I just hope the phones start shipping tomorrow so that we can have them by Nov 8th especially us out by the west coast.
  6. Not a big deal to me. I just find it funny that no one went back and did a review to ensure the spelling was correct. As long as I can change the LTE "proirity"...haha I dont care how they spell it.
  7. Well i guess they managed to mispell "priority" again just like they did with the g2. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  8. I think LG/Sprint is going to put out an OTA fix on launch day to fix the APN issue according to a Sprint rep.
  9. When do you guys think Sprint will start shipping LG G2 preorders? I hope it is not November 8th because I would like to get my phone by November 8th so I can activate it already.
  10. When you say the battery life is better on the Nexus 5, what do you mean by this? How long does it last for you on moderate to heavy use before hitting 15% left on battery.
  11. I am still not sure why Sprint hasn't switched all of its currents smartphones to the new CSIM system. I mean if the iPhone 5S/5C phones are using the CSIM system then why not the Android phones. There should be no excuse to continue using USIM cards.
  12. Any update on what model SIM card used in the LG G2?
  13. So according to XDA who is a Sprint rep and has the Sprint LG G2 who contacted LG, the LG rep told him that they plan to push an OTA fix on or shortly after launch date (Nov 8) to fix the B25 LTE connectivity issues. I hope this is true to push out an OTA fix for the weird APN issue with B25 LTE connectivity. We shall see on Friday if this is true. If this is true, you heard it first. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46840192&postcount=49
  14. Thanks for the additional confirmation. This just further confirms that it doesn't use a CSIM but still the USIM.
  15. Looks like I need to make a trip to the Sprint store this weekend to check out all these new triband LTE devices.
  16. Actually it is not. That is just the reality for the LG G2 and you have to accept it. Does it suck that the LG G2 and Nexus 5 have to wait until early 2014 for a firmware update?? Absolutely, why would anyone (especially here on S4GRU that know about existing B41 LTE around us) want to wait for a firmware update but there is not much you can do. Whining about it is not going to do anything. None of us work at senior leadership level at Sprint and certainly do not get visibility on the decisions as to why Samsung devices like the GS4 mini and Galaxy Mega 6.3 could be getting the "Spark" update first over the HTC, LG or Nexus devices. Perhaps it is because those 2 samsung phones are mid-range phones and they want to test out the "Spark" update and how it works on mid range devices before releasing it to high end flagship phones. Also the Sprint press release states that the Samsung devices will receive an update shortly after Nov 8th. This does NOT mean Nov 8th necessarily. If you don't like the way that the LG G2 is going then perhaps you should consider a GS4 mini or Galaxy Mega 6.3 if you want the "Spark" update that badly. It is just that simple.
  17. Not even the samsung devices will be triband lte out of the box in 11/8. Did u see the press release? The press rekease say for all devices that a future update will be available to bring triband lte. However i heard about samsung maybe getting the update sooner. Not sure why so much concern when u can just wait. I dont get the panic as if sprint is totally oblivious as to what is going on. The fact that preorders for the g2 havent gone out yet is a good sign. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  18. Sorry that is not how it works. Sprint releases one model of the phone and by default it has lte 1900 enabled. I am not sure what you are getting it but its clear that lte 1900 != lte 800 or lte 2600. Also what you are suggesting is asinine. Waiting until all the markets are lit with lte before enabling it is crazy. Even verizon or att does not do that or else verizon will still not have lte. Quit complaining. 19. Are u talking about the firmware to enable B26 and B41 LTE? And why sprint is holding it back. If so then the answer is simple. The B26 and B41 LTE networks are not ready. Dont take what u read from S4GRU and expect 99% of the sprint customers to understand that there is already at least B41 LTE broadcasting in some of the major markets as we speak. If sprint is going to put out a firmware update telling customers that with this firmware update you will be getting sprint spark..then customers are going to have high expectations at least in the major markets. So personally i dont think that sprint is just trying to be a d1ck here but rather they are waiting for an appropriate time when both the B26 and B41 LTE networks are a bit more mature. 20. You do know that the premium data charge went away with the new My Way plans. The premium data charge ia already baked in. Even with the Everything plus plans there shouldnt be any extra charge. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  21. Nickel is right. I am already set on the LG G2 and I wasn't too interested in the Moto X not just because it isn't triband LTE but also I don't like the size of the phone being 4.7 inch screen with (4.3 inch of "real" screen real estate). I wanted a big screen phone this time around and would have gotten the Note 3 if it wasn't because of the lack of triband LTE. Because of that I decided on the LG G2. I already preordered the G2 2 weeks ago. Just waiting for it to come in hopefully this week.
  22. Once sprint takes over the USCC pcs spectrum in feb 2014,i am sure sprint may think of deploying an additional 5x5 lte carrier at pcs. But then again it has the lte 2600 network up and running in different parts of chicago. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  23. I didnt see the gs4 triband listed as a triband phone available for sale. Maybe sprint didnt want to overwhelm the triband phone list for nov 8? Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  24. Everyone is entitled to their phone of choice. My point is that people shouldnt judge things based on what they hear instead of trying it for yourself. Think about a car you would purchase. You wouldnt just buy a car based on reviews you have read but instead would take it for a test drive to see what the critics say bother you. Had you had stated that you tried the lg g2 and the lg ui skin was just not for you then that would be the end of it. My original post all along simply was to say the lg bloatware that can be removed or turned off does not equate to an extra 700 mah. Also tech reviewers do have their biases...believe me. If they didnt they wouldnt always be comparing to what they like on other phones and how they wish those features were on this phone they are reviewing to make it the "perfect" phone. Back to the N5...who knows when this thing will come out. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
