  1. I think Tmobile is better off focusing on trying to obtain at least 20 MHz of 600 MHz spectrum.
  2. Now that some members are starting to get some B41 LTE testing going, is there anything at this point that we can help you with in gathering any info to help with B41 LTE detection to display on the app?
  3. They are going to be all triband LTE phones going forward. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5032-sprint-says-all-phones-next-year-will-be-triband-get-hd-voice/
  4. I work in the fullerton area so yes there is B41 LTE in northern OC. Sent from my LG-LS980
  5. You need your MSL and you can get your MSL here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5022-easy-method-to-obtain-your-msl-and-flash-a-prl/?p=237659 You can use this app to bypass the dialer code for the Nexus 5: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cellmapper.nexus5fieldtestmode You do not need root to do this and all you need to do is just open up the app from above and just enable B41 LTE band. You might want to also set the Band Priority for B41 to 1 and B25 to 0 and then reboot your phone. Also about the OC market. There definitely is B41 LTE live in the OC although not as much as I would have liked but there is. In fact I tested another B41 LTE site on my G2 early this morning this time in the OC market vs. LA market. I almost hit speeds of 60 Mbps. I'll post screenshots later. EDIT: I was wrong
  6. You mean one chunk as in just Massachusetts and New Hampshire? Hardly enough but I guess.
  7. Welcome to the club now check out the Clearwire LTE thread and find the towers near you to do some testing.
  8. I am curious which 2 specific sites you think you were trying to connect to in Columbus, Ohio
  9. Are you sure it was a confirmed B41 LTE site? I am very surprised that not more premier sponsors at S4GRU with the Nexus 5 have been testing out B41 LTE especially after it was confirmed by me and Ascertion on the G2 that you can connect to B41 LTE right now.
  10. There are many ways to get your MSL and this is just one of the few other methods. Either way congrats and you got what you needed.
  11. Are you sure you installed the USB drivers?
  12. You can read all questions about sponsorship here. To be a Premier Sponsor immediately you have to donate $100. It doesn't have to be all at once but once you have donated a total of $100 your account will be upgraded to be Premier Sponsor. You can always start off by being a Sponsor which there isn't a minimum to donate and you can get access to the NV complete maps so you can see which sites in your area have been upgraded with LTE. It is just that Premier Sponsors get even more access to information such as a map of all the Clearwire sites in the US and which Clearwire sites have been upgraded to TD LTE so far. That is the information I used to do my TD LTE testing. Just keep in mind that S4GRU is a non profit website so all donations go towards maintenance costs for this website. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Also to make a donation click on the Donate button on the upper right side of the page here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/index
  13. You can select USB charge mode on your phone when you connect it to your PC. It should be in your notification window and entry to tap to change USB mode between USB charge, Mass storage, etc.
  14. I guess if Sprint does end up bidding on the rest of the 700 MHz A block licenses from Verizon, according to the spectrum license map they could try to buy off pieces from Tmobile for the Massachusetts area and from Leap/AT&T for the Chicago area. Then they could work with US Cellular on 700 MHz A block LTE collaboration in the Midwest and work with regional carriers on a 700 MHz A block LTE sharing agreement for the gaps. The 4 major wireless Sprint, Verizon, Tmobile and AT&T should not be allowed to hang on to 1 or 2 markets of spectrum in a LTE band that can be used for actual LTE deployment so it can't be wasted such as Tmobile and Leap/AT&T in the 700 MHz A block. At the same time Sprint should be trying to sell its WCS spectrum licenses in the southeast part of the US to AT&T so that the spectrum is not wasted since AT&T plans to deploy LTE on WCS spectrum.
  15. In another article from Fiercewireless it was saying that Verizon still has to sell off the remaining 700 MHz A block licenses as part of the compromise to allow them to get the SpectrumCo AWS licenses. Verizon doesn't hold that many 700 MHz A block licenses left. I mean they do have some nice markets that they have 700 MHz A block spectrum for in California, New York, Texas, Florida, etc but I don't know if this would be enough to entice Sprint to bid on the rest of the 700 MHz A block licenses. However I also did hear that as part of the 600 MHz band configuration they might lump the 700 MHz A block spectrum together so that would be interesting. But take a look at the spectrum license map below for the 700 MHz A block licenses that Verizon still holds. It seems that most of the 700 MHz A block licenses are being held by many regional wireless carriers. http://specmap.sequence-omega.net/
  16. Yes. B41 LTE testing is very finicky and kinda frustrating. You can test it with B25 and B41 enabled but if you have B25 LTE nearby it is always going to prefer B25 LTE. What I had to do last night was just set it to B41 band enabled only and disabled B25 completely. Even with B41 LTE enabled, it still drops in and out but at least you don't have B25 interfering and trying to connect. What I have to do is have the Speedtest app Begin Test screen ready and sit and wait as B41 reconnects/disconnects and as soon as it reconnects, I hit the speedtest start button and as long as the speedtest is going, it doesn't drop the B41 LTE connection. Then I try to follow up with the LTE engineering screenshots but it drops out pretty quickly if the B41 LTE connection sits idle for like 5 seconds so I have to wait until B41 reconnects/disconnects to take my screenshots. EDIT: I learned that even though you disable B25, I guess the phone ignores it and tries to connect to B25. However in my case, enabling B41 only helped me get a more stable B41 LTE connection.
  17. Just use this app on the Nexus 5 to bypass the dialer code. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cellmapper.nexus5fieldtestmode You can use this method to get your MSL: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5022-easy-method-to-obtain-your-msl-and-flash-a-prl/?p=237659
  18. Absolutely. I disabled B25 and B26 and just enabled B41 earlier tonight and did some B41 testing. You can see my results below. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4886-lg-g2-users-thread/?p=237898
  19. You should be able to do this with the N5 since it is a triband LTE device after all. I don't have a N5 unfortunately to test this it out on that phone at the same tower. No I did not have to change APNs. If you know you have B41 LTE around you...you will need to enable the B41 LTE band. To do this, do the following on your Nexus 5: 1. On the dialer, type *#*#DATA#*#* (*#*#3282#*#*) 2. Select "LTE" and select "Edit" 3. Enter your MSL for Service Code. 4. Select "Band41 Enable/Disable" and select "Enable" 5. Select "Band 41 Priority" and choose "1" 6. Select "Band 25 Priority" and choose "0" 7. Reboot your phone (it should automatically do it for you if you exit out of the menu). 8. Find a B41 LTE tower 9. Take speedtests and LTE engineering menu screenshots 10. Profit and brag about it on S4GRU forums. The issue with some folks not being able to connect to LTE is explained here and has nothing to do with any faulty APNs: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-357-nexus-5-and-lg-g2-experience-temporary-sprint-lte-connectivity-issues-due-to-circuit-switched-fallback-technology/
  20. 21. Anyone interested in seeing B41 LTE results in Los Angeles go to the links below. Results were taken with the G2. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4886-lg-g2-users-thread/?p=237898
  22. According to Engadget the Sprint version of the HTC One Max is going to be released at Best Buy on 11/15 which is this Friday. I wonder how much truth there is to this. http://www.engadget.com/2013/11/13/best-buy-htc-one-max-sprint/
  23. Verified the EARFCN of 40978 to be 2628.8 MHz for Band 41 with the frequency calculator in the link below. http://www.cellmapper.net/arfcn?net=LTE&ARFCN=40978&MNC=302
  24. I can't tell you the specific tower since that is Premier Sponsor information only. Maybe now this will encourage you to become a Premier Sponsor.
