  1. Ehh...i hate it when people reference what they heard about a certain UI skin as fact. To me if someone doesnt have the willingness to try the ui skin personally and form an opinion on their own, those comments are just useless to me. Like you i have read a TON of reviews about the lg ui skin calling it utter crap or worse than touchwiz and i was curious myself. All i do with tech reviews comments (positive or negative) is use them as things to look out for....NOT let them base my opinion off of someone else. I did try the lg g2 personally at att and verizon stores and with all honesty, it is not as bad as people make it out to be. IMO the lg ui skin is exactly like touchwiz except less colorful. Like i said if you dont believe, try it yourself and you will be very surprised at how lg has tried to implement their ui skin to be similar to touchwiz. To me i have no major issues with the lg ui skin but just some small minor ones....more like personal nuisances that maybe others would not care about. Now back to the extra gimmicky stuff that burn battery. First of all, gimmicks like smart video or scroll are not enabled by default extra net battery drain is zero. Also like i said in my other post most of this stuff can be removed or disabled. There are plenty of debloated stock roms available for flash that remove the unnecessary carrier and lg junk such as carrier iq that drain battery for att customers. Sure you need to be rooted to be able to flash these debloated roms but that is always the expectation with android phones and to open it up for customization. 2. You have no idea what you are talking about. The LG bloatware does not take up 700 maH of extra power. I would easily argue that the G2 is very customizable where you can remove/disable the LG bloatware as needed to claim back the "extra" power drain. Besides you would have to compare apples to apples anyways between a nexus 4.4 rom vs lg g2 4.4 rom to truly see the power usage difference. Anything different than that are not valid tests. 3. I would definitely look at getting a triband LTE device if you are going to lock yourself in for the next 2 years. The LG G2 is a nice phone.
  4. Interesting that all the LG G2 APN files that I downloaded are all the same. When I compare the LG G2 APN file with LG OG APN file, you guys are right, I see a bunch of "dummy" entries in the LG G2 APN file. I wonder what that is.
  5. What was this price? Also why no back cover?
  6. I have no doubt that the guy is legit. I am just saying so far all the folks who have the Sprint LG G2 in their hands already have all been affiliated with Sprint somehow either as a 3rd party reseller or as an employee of Sprint.
  7. Perhaps the HTC One Max, LG G2, Galaxy Mega 6.3, GS4 mini and maybe the GS4T will all be released on the Nov 8th. I don't expect any of these devices to cannibalize sales over the other since they all cater to different types of users. Folks who want a HTC One or GS4 size device will get the LG G2 or GS4T. Folks who want a smaller screen and want a good midrange phone will get the GS4 mini. Folks who want the very large screen will have their choice of the HTC One Max and Galaxy Mega 6.3 depending if they have any brand biases.
  8. I can bet you the one you are buying is one of those phone units that person won at the LG training raffle or is a sprint employee who was able to get first dibs on one. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  9. I would say its too early to report to Sprint about issues. Technically the phone is not suppose to be out in the market yet. The earliest people should begin reporting issues is Nov, 9th when you can actually say you have used the phone for at least a day. I know preorders will most likely get their LG G2 phones prior to Nov 8th but I would still heed to waiting until Nov 9th at the earliest to begin reporting issues.
  10. I think at this point, most of us are concerned about you getting consistent B25 LTE connection. So I think establishing that baseline first would be more productive. I wouldn't worry at all about setting B41 to first priority since I am sure Sprint has their reasons for not allowing B26 or B41 set as first priority at this point due to the network being so small compared to B25. If anything after establishing that your LG G2 is not defective and works fine with B25 LTE in a lot of areas in the city, you can try setting 25-41-26 if possible and find out an area where you know only B41 LTE exists and see if it will connect to B41 LTE. We know B26 is going to take a while before any sites get reported so no point of setting it as 2nd priority if not disabled. At least for now we know of B41 sites that are live and we are just curious if the current firmware will even allow you to connect to B41 LTE.
  11. This is just weird behavior because once some others have set the priority to "1", it fixed their LTE problem. Did you update profile and PRL? Can you provide screenshots of your "LTE Engineering" in the ##DEBUG# menu and screenshots of SignalCheck when you are trying to connect to LTE. Can you also provide screenshots like this below. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4886-lg-g2-users-thread/?p=224954
  12. It should except we dont know the situation around frcoonhounds phone. I am just going to attribute these early LTE issues with the Sprint system not yet ready to accept these LG sku numbers. I have read that some folks said that their phone had trouble registering in the system which tells me that it is probably still too early. For all we know these issues will all be solved by nov 8th. 13. Maybe the promo units they give away at these Sprint training sessions are duds and have issues. Just kidding.
  14. HAHA..only if its through Moneygram or Western Union.
  15. Yes you Nigerian scammer you!!!
  16. Any update on your LTE connection? Is it more stable now or is it fluctuating or dropping out? I hope its stable enough that you can say that you have held onto LTE for several hours without issue. It seems like every new person who gets the LG G2 is having some LTE authentication issues. Trying to figure out what the common problem is.
  17. Agreed. Unless the case is metallic, I doubt a TPU case is going to dramatically affect your signal strength.
  18. I assume your mobile data networks setting is set to "CDMA/LTE" mode instead of "Global". Also can you download the SignalCheck app and provide screenshots of the readings on the SignalCheck app as well as the "LTE Engineering" menu of dialer code ##DEBUG# (##33284#). Also did you update your Profile and PRL?
  19. That does look like a good deal and you get to keep your upgrade. Its like buying a Nexus 5.
  20. Can you provide screenshots in the ##DEBUG# menu under LTE Engineering to show what LTE band you are connected to when you go by a B41 LTE tower. If you are able to connect to B41 then that is good news.
  21. So with this setup it sounds like your LTE connection is fine now?
  22. Interesting so you had B25 set to "0" even though you had B26 and B41 disabled? That might explain it.
  23. I'll try to find out that information.
  24. No problem..we are all in the same boat. This will affect me too since I have preordered the LG G2 so I am trying to figure the DOs and DONTs of any anomalies that I should be aware about when I get my phone. Since we have such a small sample size, its hard to gauge if it is truly an issue or if for some reason our 2 lucky individuals here got some ZONK G2 phones that are screwy. The guy on XDA is a good start but we definitely need more data points from folks who have their hands on a Sprint LG G2.
