  1. Re-read the phrase "android 4.4 stock". This does not mean nexus 4.4 stock. This just means the baseline of the htc rom needs to be based off of the android 4.4 stock baseline. Apparently you havent heard when people refer to wanting the stock rom to be android 4.x.x they really mean just the andrioid code base of the rom with the ui skin. Of course non nexus phones cant be 100% stock. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  2. That is true. What HTC needs to do is take some of the things they did right and wrong with the HTC One and HTC One Max and add/remove them for the HTC Two. Stuff that needs to be included in the HTC Two - Keep OIS in the camera. Do not take it out like with the HTC One Max. Smartphone cameras are one of the most important smartphone features nowadays. - Not sure how I feel about UltraPixel. Either way if HTC sticks with Ultrapixel they need to up it to at least 8 Ultrapixel camera or ditch it for at least a 13 MP camera. - 5 to 5.2 inch screen - 3 GB RAM - Keep front facing Boom speakers. - Add minimum Snapdragon 800 chip if not the latest and greatest chip announced at CES from Qualcomm in 2014. - Give it a beefier battery than 2300 maH. If they want to play with the big boys, they should try to match LG G2 and put at least a 3000 maH battery for a 5 to 5.2 inch screen. - Add SD card slot by making the back removable like they did with HTC One Max. - Keep the Pogo pins like the HTC One Max for accessibility to other accessories. - A ROM that is based off of Android 4.4
  3. I hope HTC doesn't use the S800 processor for their 2014 flagship phone. Qualcomm always announces 1 or 2 new chipsets at CES for that year. I really hope HTC uses the latest Qualcomm chip in Jan 2014 just like they did this year in 2013 by using the S600 chip announced in Jan 2013 vs. the S4 Pro announced in 2012. I have a feeling the GS5 will be using the latest Qualcomm chip announced at CES 2014. HTC needs to keep up with the pack.
  4. I figured that you would say this and thanks for confirming my suspicions. The pattern seemed to be pretty clear and I was just taking a shot in the dark and assumed the 3FF and 4FF meant the sim card size.
  5. Welcome first of all to S4GRU. I think you'll find that being a sponsor has its rewards and I am glad to hear that you are interested in taking the step to become a sponsor. This is a common question that every new member asks of how much. The answer is....there is no set amount you need to donate to become a sponsor. You should give what you can and just keep in mind what this site provides for you. The proceeds from all donations go to support this website since it is non-profit. As you get more familiar with the type of information you get from this site you'll learn more about Network Vision and appreciate all the hard work that the mods, contributing authors and Robert do for this community and the community is very friendly in trying to answer questions that new members like yourself may have about Network Vision.
  6. After hearing your story, I am kinda glad I didn't preorder from Best Buy even if I could. Seems like that $50 gift card just isn't worth it.
  7. I guess that is the risk you take when you want that extra $50 gift card. I guess it just depends if it is worth it to you. Sprint preorders seem to be on schedule for tomorrow as far as I have heard. At least you aren't paying $199 with 2 year contract for the G2 like I am.
  8. My goodness your Evo 3D is in such bad shape. I don't know why you didn't buy a replacement battery like 6-12 months ago.
  9. I am sure Best Buy is just doing website maintenance at night. The orders should show back up in the morning. I wouldn't worry about your preorders missing.
  10. I take it back now. I remember reading that the Motorola X and iPhone/iPads use nano SIM cards size which according to the chart seems to be traced to CZ2104LWR Worldwide 4FF removable LTE + GSM My guess now is that the LG G2 like the Note 3, GS4, HTC One and Nexus 5 is going to use the CZ2102LWR Worldwide 3FF removable LTE + GSM sim card since that seems to be traced to a micro SIM card size. So if you are going to update the chart to say assumed, change it to CZ2102LWR Worldwide 3FF removable LTE + GSM.
  11. I think it depends on your needs but the LG G2 and Nexus 5 seem to be great choices if you are looking for smartphones in the GS4/HTC One size. If you need a phablet size phone then consider the HTC One Max or Galaxy Mega 6.3. Either way make sure you are getting one of the triband LTE "Sprint Spark" phones so that you are future proof.
  12. What do you mean "its gone"? I am confused.
  13. OMG!!! I knew mashing my F5 key would eventually pay off. I just got an email by Sprint 5 minutes ago saying my preorder is being shipped. It is still too early for UPS to provide the estimated arrival date but it looks like it will be coming Friday, 11/8 based on it saying UPS 2nd Day Air. I will update later when UPS officially posts more details on the arrival date. FYI...I preordered on 10/19 from Sprint. It looks like Sprint might be working all night today and tomorrow boys on getting these LG G2's shipped out for the 11/8 release. EDIT: I have it confirmed that it will be coming Friday, 11/8.
  14. Thanks. It looks like the APNs consist of a lot of the world cell phone providers. Can't pinpoint the specific Sprint sections.
  15. i hope to see a massive amount of phones get shipped out tomorrow on preorders.
  16. Can someone post their Nexus 5 APN file? I want to compare it to the LG G2.
  17. Contact Sprint and just ask them for it. Why are people so afraid to ask?
  18. The G2 != Nexus 5. The G2 seems to have known APN setting issues with LTE even when folks didn't unlock the B26 and B41 ever and were having B25 LTE issues. Therefore enabling B26 and B41 for these folks has no relevance. I have a strong feeling that on launch day (Nov 8) or very shortly after, Sprint is going to push an OTA fix to update the LG G2 with updated APN settings to fix B25 LTE connectivity. However the Nexus 5 seems to be a different animal where B25 LTE has been working great and some folks have already confirmed that enabling other LTE bands like B26 and/or B41 has no effect on B25 LTE connectivity. I mean its really up to you but I am just laying out the facts that you had thought of the LG G2.
  19. Just curious if this is just affecting all Chicago users on any Sprint LTE phone or just the GS3. Not saying this is just a GS3 thing but just trying to get more info.
  20. So you can manually enable B41 and can confirm that you can receive B41 LTE at known B41 LTE tower?
  21. My guess is that the LG G2 sim card will be theCZ2104LWR Worldwide 4FF removable LTE + GSM
  22. For those that have already received the Sprint LG G2, does the box include that "G" sim card eject tool?
  23. I agree with this statement. It definitely makes sense that the policy is within 14 days of activation because it doesn't make any sense that the clock starts as soon as you preorder it especially when Sprint knew internally that the LG G2 wasn't going to be released until a month later. I wouldn't worry about it and I certainly wouldn't cancel your preorder in fear of this. Remember that the information was gathered from a regular joe schmo Sprint rep so that has to tell you something about their credibility. We know at S4GRU that Sprint phone and chat CSRs are not the most reliable sources of information.
  24. Thanks. I tried this out on my OG Photon and it works great. Looking forward to doing the same when I get my LG G2.
