  1. Did the other Crystal Lake sites have improved 3g speed now? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  2. I have done a lot of testing at my work (we deployed a lot of these) and if you have one airave within range of your phone everything is fine, if you have two within range the 1x and evdo carriers start interfering with each other. You can watch the ec/io skyrocket. This may be worth a call to airave tech support because they may be able to get yours broadcasting on a different channel. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  3. Good luck in the move Robert! Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  4. I have had a slight amount of exposure to DAS systems and getting the carriers involved with it. It is a real PITA. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  5. Fiber and copper are laid in the ground year round. I have done it. It is not an enjoyable experience at all, but doable. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  6. The article doesn't seem to talk about the upcoming sense 5/android 4.2.2 update. All signs point to that update still coming. The Evo will not be getting 4.3 and sense 5.5. Did I miss something? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  7. Service has really improved over the last year and I am very happy. Every cell service can vary significantly from one location to the other. Definitely try it out for 14 days and make sure it meets your expectations where ever you spend a lot of time. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  8. I agree with you although keep in mind there are a lot of towers broadcasting BC10 without being excepted. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  9. What type of phone? My experience with the evo lte is it will go back and forth from PCS to BC10 if it the band it is connected to gets weak. There isn't a reasonable way to force it onto a band. I connected fine earlier today and all weekend. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  10. You started replying to my post before I was able to edit it. My bad. It seems to all originate from the site between CL road and Rawson Bridge road. Bard rd. site shouldn't effect much: LO|3429913|||WQQH322||F|T|1|||8707 Bard Road|Crystal Lake|MCHENRY|IL||||279.4|42|13|20.5|N|88|21|59.6|W||||||||||||54.9|54.9|TANK||SiteID||||||||LO|3429913|||WQQH322||F|R|2||||||||||277.9|42|13|46.9|N|88|17|23.1|W||||||||||||||||CogCircleSite||||||||
  11. Here are the licenses - Site ID was removed and replaced with a discription since that is the rules! The FCC database lists them however. 12. All the licenses were approved on the same date. 14 and 31 had a ton of licenses associated with it, mostly because is seems like that site is the heart of the ring that Sprint is installing. The chain for all those Crystal Lake sites starts at the 4g/3g excepted tower between Rawson Bridge Rd and Crystal Lake Rd. Do you know how long that one has been 4g excepted? The Island Lake tower I think has only been 4g for at most a month. I'm not sure the exact date. It is served by the tower on 31 just south of McHenry. When I get around a computer I will post what is in the fcc database. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  13. Coming months. Blah Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  14. Lol! I can't believe autocorrect did that. Fixed. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  15. Does anyone know if the current PRL USC hands out to residential customers allows Evdo roaming on Sprint? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  16. I am starting to notice some MW fed sites that have languished for some time come online. For instance the one on the water tower in Island Lake is now up. I scoured the the fcc database and for some reason the licenses for the MW Backhaul were only granted in late December, and the builds were completed long before that. I am not sure what happened, but I really expect those sites to come online any day now. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  17. I agree to a point, although does that differentiate them from T-Mobile? After re-reading my original statement I really didn't do a good job writing it, my kids were breaking my train of thought way too much. Sprint and T-Mobile will still exist, and will not disappear. To dominate the other two they will need something that completely changes the cellular business. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  18. He is probably not wrong since he didn't really step out on a limb with any conclusions. I don't think there is capacity in the US market for more than the two big guys. They have built out over a good chunk of the nation and I have my doubts that if Sprint or T-Mobile expand beyond highways and cities that they will make that investment back. That doesn't mean I think Sprint and T-Mobile will go away, they will need to differentiate themselves from the big two in ways that no analyst will be able to predict. If they execute that strategy then they will be king. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  19. They couldn't get permits for a real structure but they could build that?
  20. Does AT&T own both A and B cellular bands in Bloomington? Where would their voice traffic go?
  21. Although I had heard it before, I never thought how much of spectrum disaster att has. It has to lead to very inconsistent experience for customers from market to market. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
  22. Evdo have so much noise your phone gives up? I was just out in Dekalb and it is horrible in spots, but even more horrid things will happen once NIU starts up. Sycamore has insane speeds. So close and yet so far... Actually, the second pic looks like evdo isn't even working from that location. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
