  1. Those old brick buildings don't help anything either. The last time I was at Dukes I had an usable signal however. Tommy, did they ever move that temporary site back to the water tower?
  2. 500 pounds each? Yikes! We're they trying to put only one antenna per sector?
  3. Oops. My bad. You are 100 percent right.
  4. Every now and again I run across one that is a gmo. I wasn't sure if that was the case with these. Probably 99 percent are built. Be careful when saying all the sites are built. At 62 and Roselle there was a gmo site (not a power line site) until two weeks ago.
  5. Usually the delay is with the specialized crews authorized to work on power lines, or getting the power company to approve the extra weight that will be added. They encourage using right of ways for fiber or copper communication. It's essentially free money for them. Are the full builds complete?
  6. You would see an evdo or 1xRTT outside of the 3xx or 7xx channels when on the pcs band. The engineering screen is the only way I have found that indicates for sure. I ran across old uscc channels in Schaumburg today on the tower at the Motorola solution's campus.
  7. What a mess that would be to work on.
  8. 100 percent done with sites that were supposed to be full builds. I think some gmo sites remain. I work next to one. It was a former synergy site. It is the site right by Algonquin and Roselle Rd.
  9. The majority of towers left likely need more than just backhaul. They likely have more fundamental issues like lease problems or tower engineering problems. Most of them are gmo only at this point. Robert mentioned about half a year ago that sprint had started asking for bids to convert the gmo towers to full bid. If that happened and bids were excepted we should start to see those happen soon, possibly with NV 2.0 upgrades.
  10. I'm not sure we have seen it enough to know if the gci method works, but the times I have received LTE on old uscc spectrum the last two gci digits were 03 04 or 05. I imagine it could go even higher if other carriers on different bands were added.
  11. I believe mikejeep found a way to get that information on HTC phones only.
  12. This second carrier add should move through the area fairly quickly. There isn't a lot of work to be done. Carrier card at most. When I was using data in the area it was 20mbps or over. I don't like speedtest and find the Internet Speed Meter app, that monitors and reports bandwidth while I do other things like browsing or other data tasks, gives me a much better idea about what speeds I am experiencing.
  13. Just in Hoffman Estates, likely just the tower on Huntington. Speed have always flown there so I didn't notice much difference. My phone handed off from g block to B and if I hadn't been staring at signalcheck I would have never known.
  14. When did these channels get used? I'm hitting a tower in North Hoffman Estates on my HTC one m7
  15. You asked for the data export. The "test" entries were added for your test. Even though it the entry is in the csv, it never showed up in the app when entered. https://www.dropbox.com/s/hse85zu4brbpf3h/20140416-154343_lte-sites.csv '> https://www.dropbox.com/s/hse85zu4brbpf3h/20140416-154343_lte-sites.csv
  16. Contrary to my profile (I think it lists an Evo LTE) I am using a heavily modified HTC One (M7). If it doesn't appear to be happening on every HTC phone its likely the rom I am running (sense 6). Do you need me to try a stock rom or have you heard this from all HTC owners?
  17. I filed a diagnostic report for the issue I am experiencing with the LTE note field not changing when a different site comes up. The only way I have found to bring the correct label up is to exit and reenter the app. Here is an example : See how the gci changed but the note did not? I do not have note entries for either of those LTE GCIs but it doesn't seem to matter. Let me know if you need me to try anything or if I am doing something wrong. I did clear all the site log data. The 1x notes work as expected although I am not really using them.
  18. I have the same thing. It only changes if I exit and load it up again. I need to wait until I drive again tomorrow to capture the issue and send a report if necessary. This is an awesome update! Thank you mikejeep
  19. I did something similar except the five year old left the phone out for the two year old to get it who promptly dialed 911... Now the 5 year old plays with my old IDEN BlackBerry. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  20. I think we are starting to see lots of optimization happening. Hopefully this will help some of the areas that were experiencing extremely low SNR readings. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk

Yes, it's not horrible but replace the digitizer and lcd as a pre-assembled assembly. You will never separate them without breaking it. There are also a couple YouTube videos that show how it comes apart.
  22. I find it interesting that the PRL still scans the old USCellular channels in Chicago. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  23. Ultimately what I want is a pocket sized spectrum analyzer with a CDMA2000 and LTE field test kit plus phone patching capability. Maybe a nice lcd screen too. Is that too much to ask for? Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  24. Would it make more sense for signal bars to not only use RSRP or RSSI but also EC/IO or SNR to give a better overall picture. In the stock signal bar I believe it takes those into account as well and gives you a better overall picture of your signal quality you can't get from the RSSI or RSRP numbers. 25. That is really strange. Do you have another phone you can try? Like you I can't remember the last time I had a dropped call... Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
