  1. Did they give you the number? If they did you can call and get a status on when the tech is going to be dispatched and if they close or cancel the ticket and the problem still exists.
  2. Agreed. Although the company has lost money for quite a few years it still has 15 billion in revenue. Its "legacy" side may disappear and it may headquarter itself somewhere else other than France but there is no way it will be able to close up shop and liquidate. Its infrastructure cellular division has to be doing quite well.. The job cuts would really hurt, especially since the folks laid off from jobs on their legacy side likely will not be able to find work in that field anymore.
  3. I read this as more of an old fashioned warning to the unions and French government over the current job cuts.
  4. Interesting - I may have missed it, but what "standardization of the band" are they referring to and why is Dish driving it?
  5. After reading that blog I still have no idea why the s3 would be causing these issues. Am I not reading something right? If it is, that is crazy. Sent from my HTCONE
  6. One other thing you can do is send an email explaining the problems you have to dan@sprint.com. Although it's likely the people answering work in the same group as the people answering phones, they seem to have a lot more leeway to respond to concerns and dispatch field techs. I have sent a couple people to that address and all of them came back happy with the response. Sent from my HTCONE
  7. Did they put a network ticket in? Sent from my HTCONE
  8. SNR readings will be different values for evdo when compared to LTE. A 6 or a 7 SNR reading on Evdo is ok Sent from my HTCONE
  9. I wouldn't call about the SNR. Call about the slow data speeds. As long as your phone is unmodified stock they should be able to tell what site you are hitting for lte and should be able to fire off a network ticket. Are all you folks stating you have low SNR on the north side? Sent from my HTCONE
  10. If it is noise that is outside sprints control (likely) they really can't do anything about it other than get the FCC to investigate. That is impossible to do now with the government shutdown. I don't think the administration on s4gru will tolerate the unproductive ranting going on right now in this thread. The only option anyone here has is switch to evdo and call sprint and get a credit. Once the feds open up again this will be resolved. If it is a Sprint issue (not outside interference) than our options are still the same, call, complain, and get a credit. 11. I have not been able to find the documentation on that BDA that caused the interference in New York. That's probably because its probably berried in the FCC website which is down do to the fed shutdown. If the interference is caused by malfunctioning BDA or DAS system it is likely Sprint already knows who is doing it. However Sprint isn't really able to do anything other than ask the owner to turn it off. Only the FCC, backed by the US Marshals, has the ability to force people to shut off a device causing interference. Although this seems to be affecting Sprint, Verizon and AT&T face the same issues with these devices. Keep in mind I am just able to speculate what is going on. Other than hunting around with specialized equipment, or AJ, we can only guess. I do know that when the noise floor suddenly shoots up over a wide area it is likely not a capacity issue.
  12. I'm still trying to find a source of the incident but there was an incident in NYC a few years ago that took out a widespread part of the city and suburbs because of a bad in building install that started oscillating. What concerns me is the noise and data speed decreased suddenly and EVDO is still Ok. I think I should be able to dig the source up at work. Sent from my HTCONE now Free
  13. That's what it was starting to sound like to me. A poor man's das system not installed properly and spewing noise all over the place. Unfortunately with the Fed shutdown the FCC isn't able to do any enforcement. Edit: dealing with that type of interference would drive me crazy enough to where I would start to drive around and find the source. I would then destroy stuff. Sent from my HTCONE now Free
  14. Was everyone's speed Ok then just went bad two weeks ago? Sent from my HTCONE now Free
  15. Two things I was specifically looking at that tell me something is wrong in your area. Your Rsrp was around 85 which is a really strong signal, however with the SNR being 2 or so means that your lte radio is being overwhelmed with noise from other sources and those noise sources are very strong. 16. I am in the far NW suburbs. Your SNR tells the story. There is a lot of noise in the area either from other phones and devices or something else is up. I would definitely call them and get a credit of some type. Sent from my HTCONE now Free
  17. Sorry for the double post... Sent from my HTCONE now Free
  18. Well, seems like it is the network where you live. Its not an issue everywhere in the Chicago area though Sent from my HTCONE now Free

    HTC ONE vs EVO LTE

What LTE issues are you seeing with the ONE? It was a night and day difference for me when driving around. I'm not questioning your experience at all, just wondering if I am missing something. Sent from my HTCONE now Free
  20. Ok, that's very strange. Its been a long time since I have been downtown so perhaps the network has taken a turn for the worse. I would go to a sprint store or grab a friends phone and see if they have the same problem. If they do, since we are an announced market and may be worth a phone call to sprint. Those speeds are way to slow. Sent from my HTCONE now Free

    HTC ONE vs EVO LTE

I owned the EVO LTE since launch day, yesterday I traded it in for a One. If you liked the EVO you would love the one. Everything about it seems upgraded from the EVO. I can tell you that everyone on this board was right about the EVO rf performance. It worked well enough for me but you never know how much it impacts your experience until you try another device. It feels like I have lte everywhere now! Sent from my HTCONE now Free
  22. I'm not sure, but the lowest 4g speed I have seen is around 1mbps and it was still usable. What device do you have? One thing you may be able to do for free (I like free) is go into a sprint store and see how your speeds on lte compare to the demo models. Sent from my HTCONE now Free
  23. I have seen some slow 4g sites but that is crazy. How are you getting the signal strength? Have you seen a fast site anywhere recently? That would indicate a device issue. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk now Free
  24. With the way Sprint manages your area it seems like they don't think anyone lives there.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I saw that too, although with as much as the EVO LTE crowd was pestering the guy he may have said that to shut us up. Deck's 10.2 cm is outstanding. I have been using that for some time. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4
