  1. Jeebus, what's next, DQ offers a $30 Billion offer(mostly in stock/bonds & Blizzards)? I believe that Sprint should proceed with Son's offer, not do to Charlie's antics, but due to more cash & less debt.
  2. Still a bit surprising that its FCC filing didn't even mention GSM support. Maybe some here on the forums can try putting in a GSM SIM and see what happens. It would be nice if Sprint starts selling their GSM capable phones with the SIM slots fully unlocked, like VZW did with the Droid DNA.
  3. Seriously considering moving to KC, but only if I can get that Ethernet-to-Micro USB cable.
  4. Happy Birthday Robert! And yes, Fried Chicken > Ham (in my humble opinion)
  5. Well, off-topic discussion is allowed in this part of the site. Nonetheless, cost w/o the discount just got too expensive for him/her. I would recommend removing TEP(if you have it & don't feel like you need it). It does help cost a little but. Otherwise, I think prepaid might be a good idea for you. Depending on service quality in your area and your month voice usage, T-Mobile $30 100 min/5GB/Unltd text might be something you can work with.
  6. I would never...I love food too much. There's always fiber if you want an dedicated home internet connect(Google, FiOS and the likes).
  7. In store repairs doesn't always work out though. Once upon a time, I had a EVO 4G(this was about 2 years ago). One day the LCD panel just...died. Fortunately, there was a Sprint store near my old HS. I went in to the store, gave them the phone(I had TEP at the time), and came back an hour later to pick it up. I picked-up my phone and everything seemed to be great & didn't have to pay out-of-pocket to Asurion to get it replaced. They did, however, notate on the account that the phone was rooted(according to the rep, they did me a "favor" by repairing the phone). I was unable to flash the phone back beforehand to a stock ROM since I couldn't see what's on the screen. Anyway, I thanked the rep and went home. Soon after arriving home, I realized that the entire lower right of the touch panel is unresponsive. Thus, I went back to the Sprint store the following day and asked them to switch out the assembly. Unfortunately, the LCD/Touch screen assembly was the only 'functioning' one they had. I asked if they can give me an replacement EVO, they declined. The only other official Sprint repair center was pretty far away(and had no means to get there, at least via mass transit). Thus, I was stuck with a partially-function EVO(but at least I could get back on a stock ROM, so there's that). After a few days, I remembered reading about Sprint's Advanced Exchange program about a year back. Unfortunately, by the time I remembered, Advanced Exchange's web portal was discontinued due to abuse. However, the program is still available via calling CS directly. Thus I did, and 24 hours later, a working, refurb EVO arrived at my doorstep & the defective EVO was sent back to Sprint. It didn't cost me a dime(but I do believe I had to pay a security deposit, which was refunded when they received the phone). What surprises me is that the rep never mentioned this program to me, only offering the Asurion option. It was probably due to the fact that they didn't know of it, but if I didn't remember reading about Advance Exchange, I probably would've went to Asurion and paid for a refurb. In the end, bad TEP experiences do happen, they're just not common.
  8. What exactly would be an viable solution to that other than outright banning or limiting the amount of time those type of services can be used? It's not the hugest problem in the forefront of wireless telecommunications(compared to...idk, torrenting the first two season's of Breaking Bad in HD over EvDO at 3pm on a Friday afternoon), but there isn't really a solution to that other than what I already mentioned, or make the data cap so low that these type of services over 3G/4G will decrease significantly(a la Netflix). I guess you were getting more at technological limitations of current networks & it's management, but I can be wrong...
  9. If that's the case, I'm a little surprised that they didn't go along the lines of what they did on Virgin, in which they would just on an extra gig to the total data allotment(pre-throttle) and let you use the combined data between the phone and the hotspot app.
  10. I think that just made my night. I have a feeling Michael saw this coming...somehow... Still, current limited data plans are just to...limiting. [media]
  11. Well, if we accept it, it will happen & will become the status-quo in this industry. If we become resistant to this change(which looks not to be the case after seeing ATT & VZW YoY subscriber gains), then the tides can change. By any chance, does anyone have a link to that market subscriber percentages thread/post(s)?
  12. Well, as long as unlimited data is sustainable with our 'human nature', let it stay. If not, take action.
  13. I welcome this type of plan structure, but unlimited data should continue to be an option for those who need(or want) it. That's if this eventually comes to the consumer-side of things. If necessary, raise the price of unlimited data, but if so, separate data allotments from the rest of the plan(Voice/Text) and make data plans optional on smartphones. Also, separate the separate the device subsidy from the plan(a la T-Mobile).
  14. Happy to see LTE devices available on the SPG brands. Personally, I'll probably wait until either high-end phones hit Virgin or until CDMA/LTE-provisioned SIMs happen on Virgin. No roaming and some throttling is already expected from prepaid brands. With that in mind, I don't see why the extra $35 a month for SAYG is worth it(outside of repair services and improved CS, which is debatable since I don't know how SPGs CS is like).
  15. These LTE speeds make me want to dip my feet back into the Sprint pool, especially that test from East New York
  16. Ran the intersection through AntennaSearch, got nothing in terms of towers at that location. As for sites, only Clearwire & Sprint/Nextel is currently listed. It could be possible that Sprint doesn't own this tower.
  17. Maybe a standard Lightsquared-like deal can still be perused and made. No need for anyone to get their over-inflated egos in the way. Money changes people...
  18. VX is pretty damn great at what it offers...except at making money. With Frontier getting spinned-off, maybe a F9/VX merge can be in the cards? Only problem is that they offer different products in terms of service/rewards/etc.
  19. Com'on guys, does those eyes really look like those of satan?
  20. Dish could still go in on their own(dealing with tower companies, vendors, etc) if they want. Sent from my Nokia Lumia 920 using Board Express
