  1. There seems to be so many wifi calling threads I can't keep track of them all, I posted about this in another one but I'll say it here too. All afternoon I was more frequently then not getting the fast busy reorder tone as well, while on wifi calling and cellular, incoming and outgoing. Actually disabling the feature corrected it. Spoke with support whom kept trying to make excuses and then finally put a ticket in for it. the problem seems to subside at night, which makes me think it's some kind of capacity issue in the backend or something. Figures this would get off to a rocky start, as everything new at Sprint does. Edit: Another thing I forgot to mention is ever since activating the wifi calling my call logs on the sprint site are showing calls to random 504-406-xxxx numbers which is New Orleans.
  2. I just disabled mine too. The wifi calling has been nothing but garbage since I got it yesterday, caused nothing but problems. Most of my outgoing calls failed with a fast busy until I disabled it and now alls fine again.
  3. I had a few fast busies while test calling myself, then later on I was getting fast busy trying to call any number on both wifi and cellular. Haven't had any problem today so far. Guessing maybe yesterday there was a mass influx of new wifi calling users on sprint and that threw their system off kilter. (Though the cynical side of me says otherwise...)
  4. I just added this onto both of our lines. Between the wifi calling and this, I'll be set when I go to Mexico sometime within a year or so!
  5. My iPhone 6 wifi calling hasn't been so great today. There's been choppy voice on and off, some incoming test calls from a landline to myself failed, and the last call I made to a T-Mo customer (who is also on wifi calling) ended up with one way audio after awhile. (Never had a single problem with them from cellular or landline)
  6. The other thing is "iPhone cellular calls" doesn't work with WiFi calling enabled. (that's the setting so your calls go to other iOS devices too) Not a huge deal for me as I didn't use it that much but was convenient. So far the WiFi calling has been on and off choppy, like a crappy SIP call. I've never experienced this with T-Mo wifi calling, not two years ago and not last week on a friends iPhone 6. Though not surprised that Sprint's is having trouble, because afterall, it is Sprint...
  7. I honestly don't know, but on an iPhone 6 I used last week it definitely didn't sound like G.711. It may have been one of the AMR codecs maybe? That's my suspicion based on how it sounded, and would make sense considering it's supposed to be able to handoff to cellular whereas sprint clearly said there's "would most likely fail" to handoff. (And I don't see how it would handoff from wifi to cellular since I thought T-Mo was doing the handoff from VoWiFi to VoLTE and not to the circuit switched network which is all sprint has.)
  8. I just updated today and wifi calling got off to a rocky start, first with choppy voice (my internet is fine I use our VoIP landline on it all the time with excellent results) and then another call dropped 15 minutes in. I noticed that SMS over wifi is not enabled. Also as far as voice codec goes it sounds like G.711 to my well trained ears, which is definitely not what T-Mo is using. (AFAICT)
  9. Oh ok, I don't think there was much mention of it so I wasn't certain. I don't get to enjoy HD voice very often because hardly anybody I know is on sprint anymore, so it still excites me when a call begins and I hear it jump to HD lol.
  10. I just had an HD voice call from here (Chicago area) to my sister in-law in the Bay Area in California. Last I heard anything they didn't have HD voice between markets working yet.
  11. Everything is back for me at the moment.
  12. Just an update. Posts on sprints FB seem to indicate this is a regional outage not just Chicago area. Outside of IL and IN people in Iowa, Wisconsin and Ohio are complaining.
  13. Bad time to have an outage. At least data works. And happy birthday!
  14. Is anybody experiencing a voice and SMS outage right now? I am in Northwest IN. LTE and EVDO are working fine.
  15. Did this change occur upon the release of 5.1? I just want my phone to be honest about what network it's actually on from a glance without having to go into the menus to check. Although this isn't really a big deal anymore like it was 3 years ago since I'm on LTE all the time anyway.
  16. IDK which update this happened in but I just upgraded to 5.1 and noticed that the 1X icon is gone and it's now showing 3G while on 1X... Grrrr.
  17. 2 iPhones on Everything Plus 1600 with the recent free upgrade to unlimited minutes. After taxes the bill is $145.
  18. Where are you? My worst calls are between Sprint and T-Mobile, it always sounds very muffled but calling T-Mo from other carriers and landline sounds excellent. But in general I only ever notice some short garbling.
  19. 22nd and Wentworth was 2 Mbps on B25 back on Tuesday with reasonably good signal. The mall is the worst. T-Mobile does great in the mall with LTE even indoors where Sprint can vary from weak 3G to nothing at all.
  20. Ooma is good, I actually have an Ooma box I'm trying to sell. They gave me a referral code so the new owner doesn't have to pay the 9.99 reactivation fee. We've had an Ooma around here for 3 years and can't remember a moment of downtime and the voice quality is great. I personally am more into the BYOD VoIP crowd, using an Obi100 and voip.ms for our landline.
  21. That's about how it was around Chinatown, 1-2mbps out of B25 and B26
  22. Chinatown is still one of the last places in Chicago you'd wanna be caught using Sprint, unfortunately I spent the whole evening there and nothing's changed. Either unusable 3G or slow B26 or B25. They should focus in on this area (and around 33rd and Halsted) and make something happen to improve things. I think I would've been happy if there were more B41 but I didn't pick much up tonight. Outside of tonight I've been enjoying my service everywhere else. (Though many of the sites within "Spark Turbo" areas still are being limited by backhaul/site configuration and not able to reach more then 30 Mbps)
  23. DND mode will do just as well if your phone has such a setting.
  24. Funny you should mention a fusion with a broken transmission and crappy sync, we had one of those. What model year was yours? Ours was a 2010. Never was more excited for a lease to be up then with that car, by the end it was leaking oil, the transmission was failing again after its 2nd rebuild and the A/C had gone out. Only had 46,000 miles. Will probably never buy an American sedan again, and especially not a Ford after the customer service hell I've been put through. Despite it all I do like to keep an open mind and am very intrigued by the 2015 Mustang and F150 (though nothing with an Ecoboost engine, that's another can of worms in its own!)
  25. AT&T hasn't been consistent around here since I was using a GSM-only Nokia flip phone. Even then, that went wonky around 2008. The only 10x10 I know of in Chicago is on B17, B4 is 5x5 and I think B2 is as well. Being dumped onto a loaded up 5x5 B4 carrier like that then going a block away and being on 10x10 B17 makes for a roller-coaster-ride experience. Now I think B17 is overloading in some places like where my friend lives, she complained of terrible lag so I talked her through the various engineering screens of her GS3 thinking she was stuck on weak B4 only to see that it was reasonably strong B17 with very low SNR. I then instructed her how to switch the phone down to "4G" and she hasn't complained since.
