  1. I'm not having any issues as of yet today. It was letting me resend as soon as it said message send failed. This was across all carriers. I've had double text issues on and off since I switched to them two years ago. It was real bad at the beginning.
  2. Been having lots of texts fail to send on my Nexus 5 today, when sending over LTE or 1x. Is it me or some kind of network issue?
  3. Didn't phase any cell providers at all here. Hell I had to run through the sideways rain for 10 seconds to my car and drive home in it. My car was being rocked by the strong wind gusts and the rain was so heavy you couldn't see. It was kinda fun actually. It really takes a natural disaster to screw up service, the only times we ever had service messed up was the tornado of August 2008, and the floods a month later that year screwed service up bad.
  4. Off current topic for a second. A little while back we were discussing T-Mobile voice quality and someone mentioned that Sprint to T-Mobile sounded horrible. I've just noticed the same thing this past week, looked at the engineering screen in a call and turns out whenever I receive a call from a T-Mo number my phone is using 4GV-NB, so the problem appears to be Sprint. If I call a T-Mo number it sets up in EVRC-NW like normal, and the call sounds fine, or calling from a landline it sounds like I'm talking to another landline.
  5. So I don't think it was the iPhones fault... I was falling back to 3G a lot today on my N5... In other news I walked in a building that is a Sprint dead spot and picked up B41 LTE instead of the usual weak 3G. This Is one of those cases where there was a nearby Clear site and no Sprint. I just thought it was amusing, it was quite usable too despite being weak itself.
  6. Went out to Orland Park today, these speed tests were taken at Orland Square mall, B41 and 3G. When I was there last B26 and second carrier B25 weren't live yet, and 3G was useless. There was no B26 signal in the center of the mall, but toward the outer edges of the building I picked up B41. Over at my aunt & uncles dead zone of a home, was weak but steady B26 outside, and would fade in and out inside. Much better then before.
  7. I just finally had my first HD voice call today! I've had an HD capable phone since April but nobody else I know did until now so its about time! It was between my Nexus 5 and a Boost Moto G. It garbled for a second then sprang to life, the difference was night and day. It seemed a little bright/tinny sounding though.
  8. I think the lack of B26 optimization wreaks havoc with it, causing it to fallback to 3G a lot. (In places my old 5 never did).
  9. It's hard to tell, my service has been excellent since I switched to my N5 from the 5S. Idk if it's coincidence or the iPhone sucks that much.
  10. Just as I thought, second carrier is on all over my area. I found myself on B26 more then I thought normal today too, but it doesn't look like optimization has started yet.
  11. So I'm finally getting the second carrier in my living room! This probably means it's finally on across Lake County, IN! This means I should blaze along everywhere I can get an LTE signal (congestion wasn't too bad with a single carrier)
  12. Data is back online for me.
  13. Currently experiencing no data in Northwest IN. Still connected to LTE and just received a call successfully from my mother to tell me her phone had no data too. So there's an outage happening as of about 15 minutes prior to this post.
  14. That would be amazing. I am seeing 8T8R panels pop up all over northern Lake County though. It'll be like Christmas when those go live! The one I picked up is just a Clearwire site in Munster
  15. I activated my Nexus 5 on my Sprint line for the first time and was pleasantly surprised to see this phone hangs onto band 25 and overall LTE signal much better then my 5S! Funny since my N5 acts like its allergic to LTE on the GSM side. Anyways with the N5 all those LTE deadspots I'd get with the iPhone (despite B26 being available) have vanished. I also picked up B41 for the first time ever! In Munster, IN.
  16. I don't even bother mentioning Sprint to others, everyone I know has att or Verizon and can't be bothered with anything less. They all see Sprint as a joke, the laughing stock. I quietly mutter to myself "just wait, before long Sprint will be number one"....That day can't come fast enough. A good friend of my mothers is a regional sales rep/trainer for Sprint and has a company car with the name on it and regularly gets shouted at and rocks, bricks etc thrown at her car. Same for her coworkers, it got so bad they took the markings off their vehicles. She chose to keep hers though. The people I know that have recently switched to Sprint have been very happy with it, the people I know that had it a long time hated it and eventually switched to att and Verizon and couldn't be happier.
  17. Yikes, that sounds like a big step back as far as roaming goes. I can see that blowing up in their face sometime down the road too. I like the idea of having it cut off at the limit and then give you the option to purchase a reasonably priced roaming data bucket.....and while I'm being idealistic, have that roaming bucket rollover until it's used up with say for example a 1 year expiration date.
  18. Hmmm interesting. I used almost all of my 300 MBs back when I was traveling in May. Glad I have the older plan with the higher alottment now that you get cut off at the limit. Does that mean your minutes get cut off at the 800 minute limit too?
  19. I checked at that moment and it wasn't! That's the beauty of load balancing! Actually where I was on the second carrier it was pretty slow.
  20. Blazing along in Grant Park. B25
  21. Were cruising along at State and Monroe - rush hour on the second carrier. Not as fast at Canal & Monroe on the second carrier. I've been running a lot of speedtests and this is about what I've been averaging just over 1 Mbps.
  22. Looks like I'm sticking to our 130 dollar 1600 minute EPRP plan. Not impressed with the new plans, and I'm not surprised that they aren't as good as they should be. I wonder if this is finally the end of unlimited.
  23. That's a superBULL not a cow!
  24. I wonder how the other three are doing. I'm guessing VZW is fine with it's 20x20 AWS, and at&t with it's super COW, and i'm not so sure about T-Mobile.
