  1. The only thing I can think of is checking to make sure all the prls are up to date. If they are not then phones can be right next to each other and be on different towers.
  2. you may have to bypass the s-beam functionality and set up the direct wifi on both devices.
  3. It would be next to impossible to limit the output to fit every customers residence. It would probably make more sense to mandate that nobody broadcast an unsecured signal.
  4. For a second I thought you had the LG phone that can open two apps on the screen at the same time.
  5. You really need to back up your postings with facts when said postings are challenged. That's the kind of site this is. Having said that, even if fiber was "cheap" Sprint would still have to run fiber to approx 40,000 towers. That by itself could make it cost prohibitive. I will say that IMO it would make sense to phase in your own backhaul especially in those areas where the backhaul providers have historically been problematic.
  6. I'm usually out and about at night so I generally dont run into any problems. I do know that data speeds are horrible in downtown Raleigh during the day. Hopefully it gets better here soon.
  7. ????? As far as I know text messages are not dpendent on data speed but rather voice connection. In other words if you have a signal you can send a text. If you had a signal and could not send a text then either there was a network issue(on going work or overloaded) or there is an issue with your phone.
  8. So far I'm very happy with the update. Seems to have solved my spontaneous rebooting issue. I have to say its strange that after all the complaining about having to wait for Jelley bean that nobody has mention that the EVO was the first HTC One device stateside to get the update. That should put to bed any doubts about Sprints commitment to the EVO line.
  9. I wonder if Raleigh Cary would indicate all of Wake County since those two make up about 75% of the county.
  10. I would think that Sprint would tie you directly into the backhaul. Might make sense to give you a free airave also.
  11. I have noticed that the GPS will auto enable at times. i assume that is a function of Google Now.
  12. Its much easier for me to do it since I had to hard reset this morning. Nothing there to lose now!
  13. Downloading now. I will let you guys know if the phone explodes
  14. So, I was excited to find out that the EVOLTE has been certified for Playstation Mobile. Great news right? Not really, you have to update to Android 4.1 first. Grrrrrr.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I restarted my phone yesterday and saw a message on my screen stating that a system update had been applied. I checked to make sure my software version was unchanged. Anybody else experience this?
  16. You have offered some great examples that actually bolster the argument for off-loading. Roads have a physical and monetary limit to how big they can get. Also, in some areas drivers HAVE been asked not to travel to a certain destination or have been motivated not to drive through the use of fees(tolls). The wirless infrasctructure also has a physical and monetary limit to how big it can get. Those of us who argue in favor of offloading are trying to avoid the situation where we no longer have unlimited data, where we are compelled to limit our use through higher fees.
  17. Hmm. I need to check that out. Getting closer to the house. Did you map it on sensorly?
  18. You should not need to do more than enable nfc on both phones and then follow the directions. One oddity that i did notice when trying to send an app from the GS3 to the EVOLTE is it wont transfer the app. but rather it will take you to the google play store where the app is located.
  19. Valid rumor? lol. Maybe I'm to much of an optimist but maybe they reported the rumor because they know so many evolte owners are waiting on Jellybean. I think if you read the posting thoroughly you might not be as critical as they do go into a brief history of past rumors. IMHO its also ridiculous that misinformation is being given out over a companies official social media channel. I also prefer good and evo over phandroid for the quality of the posts and responses. But that's just my 2 cents.
  20. If you mean that they should use that information to place this rumor in better perspective then yes I agree. But I'm not going to fault them for reporting it as a rumor. Now if they reported it as fact then bash away!
  21. In all fairness they did report it as a rumor stating that we have been down this road before.
