  1. If a person is so concerned with battery drain they can buy either a spare battery or extended battery. I use my phone a ton throughout the day and battery drain is imminent. I would only get 4 to 10 hours out of the OEM battery on a full charge in the Galaxy S5. But once I got the extended battery from Zerolemon I get about a day and a half of strait use out of the phone. But Ihave had the phone in standby or rather in minimal use for up to 8 days without a charge! So I think worst case battery drain could always result in you shelling out a little extra and getting an extended battery But to each their own. I have known guys to get 2 days out of a single charge on the OEM battery in the GS5. But not sure how they do it. Kevin
  2. yep the government does the same thing. They only upgrade phones when absolutely needed.
  3. I just use a 12 volt inverter that has plug ins on it and i plug the GS5 charger into it and it charges great!
  4. Anybody here in Southern Illinois? I am trying to find something out? specifically around Marion/Mount Vernon area? Kevin
  5. By the way, just curious about what the capabilities of a C.O.W. is? Are they able to achieve the same speeds as a fixed tower? or is it quite different considering they use Sattelite? Kevin
  6. Apparently they have cows in istanbul... http://www.celltowerphotos.com/displayimage.php?album=28&pid=2122#top_display_media
  7. My 2 year old son is afraid of cows... they make him nervous...
  8. Facepalm... yeah I did some googling to see if you were just joking with me. alas you are serious...
  9. you know I almost didnt get this when first looking at it. lol. but all joking aside do they bring in temp. towers/antennas for certain events? I.E. state fairs, concerts, etc?
  10. very good point Robert. What about in Colorado? do they as well there? or eat the digital brownies made from 1's and 0's? lol.
  11. So all this talk about temporary sites. Last year at the Washington State Fair I noticed at least 5 temporary looking towers? They were on wheels. They had LTE antennas on them and my signal was great. Data... not so much, which i can understand due to the vast amout of people congesting the cell sites there. Do they bring in temporary antennas during things like this? I do not know if they were sprint antennas or not, as at this time I really didnt know very much about the subject. Perhaps I was just seeing things. Idk. Kevin
  12. Hi. Glad to have you here. Great to see that there are people here from other countries. So I was wondering what the cost of these plans is in your country? Obviously it must be different than here in the states. Just out of curiosity. Thanks. Have a great day! Kevin
  13. Ah ok. never mind then. What are you using to create the map? I would like to make one of my own.
  14. Hey guys just curious what app or software do you guys use to do the colored pins on the map? or rather to embed them into Google Maps? I have my spreadsheet pretty much complete. Just need to get a few more things together.
  15. Hey guys so I am trying to figure out where a certain tac is located at. i know its not my local area. Well kinda. Anyone in here from Seattle, WA? If so anyone in here directly across from BainBridge Island? I found an LTE tower that showed up on my phone for about 2 minutes and then disappeared soon after. I did manage to get the TAC from it. Signal was very weak. I think its from Seattle though because its TAC is different from any others over here on the Kitsap side. The tac is 23323 Western Washington Market. I will be listing my TAC's that I've found here later tonight. Thanks for the help.
  16. I have several different tags for the same areas. I'll look at mine and wife's phones tonight and see what I can get together Also do you want B 41 clear TAC-
  17. Perhaps they made other improvements? or just upped them to triband?
  18. The FCC is corrupt and we all know it... just saying...
  19. didnt sprint convert the wimax antennas into clear b41 antennas? Because I get very good speeds at a spot that was converted. I am well aware that these will be gone in 2015 and will eventually become sprint B41 antennas, but Ill take what I can get at the moment. So its not completely dead yet. still have a wee bit of life left. Like Robert explained its like a grandpa on its last life. I dont remember his exact words, but it was something similar to that. lol.
  20. as stated above, its the LTE models from what was previously mentioned, apparently LTE will not work on the phone, but it will register with the sprint network on 1x and 3g.
  21. I can confirm that EVDO roaming in Western Washington is still alive and I would say well, but its quite slow as you probably already guessed. But better than nothing when I'm in a non sprint area... Though I have seen 1x roaming in a few areas up here in washington.
  22. nevermind disregard my last Robert. I forgot that you are not in a sprint market. lol.
  23. Im curious to. how is this phone on band 5? or is this not a sprint phone?
