  1. Do it through Sprint.com, not the usage history on the phone, unless you are always on a Verizon PRL. Although that's probably obvious, you never know.
  2. That's awesome! I have an almost okay signal at my house, and I'm hoping for an upgrade to LTE any day now, seeing as I can get it a couple hundred feet away. Stick, NV has been great to me, I can actually stream things now if I'm connected to the right tower. Sent from a mobile toaster
  3. We'll see what happens this month, as I'm probably going to go over the 300mb. Sent from a mobile toaster
  4. Just picked up some LTE right outside of tune in, I'll post speed tests later Sent from a mobile toaster
  5. View finder Sent from a mobile toaster
  6. Typing this with SwiftKey Flow, and seems pretty good so far, but I really liked the hovering word with the new 4.2 keyboard, so I may switch back to that soon. Sent from a mobile toaster

  8. I'll try as best I can, but I am definitely one of the less knowledgable people here. Here goes nothing. 3G and 4G are overarching terms for third generation (3G) and fourth generation (4G) wireless data transmission technologies. There are certain speed and latency standards that must be met for something to qualify as "4G." CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) and GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) are two different branches of cellular access. I don't know how they actually work and differ, sorry, but Sprint and Verizon use CDMA and AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM. LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the real 4G, and is the only 4G technology truly certified as such. However.... WiMax came along and it was so much faster than regular old CDMA that Sprint decided to call it "4G." However, this sort of ruined everything in terms of naming schemes. WiMax was technically not 4G, but Sprint called it that, so whatever. HSPA and HSPA+ (Evolved High Speed Packet Access) are 3G technologies citation needed, however they are significantly faster than regular old 3G, so AT&T decided to call it 4G just as Sprint had with WiMax. When LTE came along with Verizon, there was a conflict between Faux-G (Punny, eh?) and real 4G, LTE. So now we have 4G LTE, 4G, and 3G. It's not pretty. eHRPD (enhanced High Rate Packet Data) is just a handoff between 3G and LTE. The speeds go from LTE>>>HSPA+>>CDMA/GSM All of this information is in the FAQ: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1704-frequently-asked-questions/ Hopefully my explanation of these things makes some sort of sense, and the FAQ is almost definitely more helpful and knowledgeable.
  9. Got a hit in Takoma Park, right next to New Hampshire avenue! I couldn't really figure out which tower was broadcasting it, as the best signal I got was about -105 dbm. Best speeds were close to 10 down and 6 up, although most were about 4-5/2-3. Still awesome though. I also mapped it on Sensorly, but it doesn't seem to be showing up. I'll try again tomorrow.
  10. I may be over the line here, but have you tried using a VZW PRL? This would probably give you better speeds for when you really need it. Sorry if I'm not allowed to discuss this here. Sent from a mobile toaster
  11. Yeah, I'm constantly hoping for that little 4G to pop up. Good to know that it's expanding in this manner. This weekend, I should be around DC again so hopefully I can check how far the 4G extends. Where in SS were you going?
  12. That's good to hear. Does it specify in sponsor maps whether a site is broadcasting 800? Sent from a mobile toaster
  13. Sorry guys, there might be LTE there, my phone was in CDMA only mode. Found this out when I wasn't picking up even eHRPD in DC or on my home tower. Sent from a mobile toaster
  14. Yeah, that's what I saw too. Sorta sucks, because ideally I would walk/bike around with it in my pocket mapping 4G. Also, I unwillingly set my phone to CDMA-only, so I was in an LTE area not mapping 4G for a good couple hours today
  15. Does the sensorly app have to keep the screen on to work? Or can I disable that? Sent from a mobile toaster
  16. Well, I was at the REI in college park for the attic sale today and I didn't see any 4G pop up. I forgot to map with sensorly, but I doubt I would've seen anything. I'm going into DC later, so I'll map and speedtest that trip. Although my phone is still reading the 3G upload speeds wrong.
  17. I was just all up and down rockville pike and around there running errands, nothing. I'll be in College Park tomorrow, so I'm hoping for some good LTE vibes.
  18. The weird thing is that it has continued, with varying speeds. So I'm hoping that speedtest is bugged out because of upgrades....wishful thinking Down at the bottom you could see more normal tests.
  19. Guise, Network Vision is incredible!!!11!!!!1 Anyone know what's up here?
  20. I will try to check that tower in Langley Park, if someone could go give me the coordinates, I might be able to go check it out tomorrow (hopefully). Also, I'll be around downtown Silver Spring and Rockville tomorrow, and DC the next day, so I'll map Sensorly on those trips and hopefully pick up something! Glad to see this thread is off to a good start too!
  21. Wow. That's all I can say to those speeds, especially on an "unsupported" device Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
  22. Well, I'm definitely feeling the NV upgrades, as I was able to stream Netflix on my phone while in the car, and I've been getting extremely consistent 1.5/1.0 speed tests. I'll be in the heart of DC on thanksgiving, so I might just have to talk a little sensorly walkabout hunting for LTE.
  23. This is actually exactly how I feel about the S3. It was testing the same, but felt so much better. Sent from a Toaster SIII
  24. Picked up LTE on a 14th and U, great speeds. Sent from a Toaster SIII
