  1. This. I've added my dad and my sister to my plan this way. Added lines in NY, and mailed the phones to CA. They went into the store and had their numbers ported over on the new lines. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. LTE can already be deployed in as little as 1.4mhz channels, but no one does it. It can help, but not much.
  3. The cdma carrier in 800mhz won't free up much of anything for refarming to LTE when it gets shut down. They only have 14mhz.
  4. Neither Verizon or anyone else has completed their 4g roll out. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. They didn't even have the first LTE network, MetroPCS beat them to it in the US. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. I tried that in the past and it didn't work for me. I wouldn't recommend relying on that in case something happens. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. You can only add TEP within 30 days of activation or during any random open enrollment periods. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. It's not thread jacking. Food is relevant to every topic of discussion. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. Battery life would drop more than it already is if the screen kept lighting up with every notification. It's cool, but I don't see it working on Android without Motorola's implementation with active notifications on an amoled screen. Until manufacturers stop trying to make our phones into a razor blade and use a good sized battery many Android phones will be stuck with the notification light instead. 10. It's a toggle list for each permission. Keep in mind you will break some apps robbing them of permissions they need to function. This is the message you get when turning stuff off. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  11. You can buy from developers and side load it on Android. They don't do this because its easier to get paid listing apps on Google play. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. I can barely see the pixels on my nexus 5 screen holding it as close to my face as my eyes will focus. I can't see pixels on the newer Samsung displays at all. There is a lot more to a quality display than pixel density and resolution. At some point you are adding pixels just for the sake of adding pixels. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. It's not so much ios being smoother than Android. It's all the garbage Samsung packs on top of Android in touchwiz that slows it down. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  14. If you want a VR headset then buy one. The oculus should be available early next year and there are several others. You can even get the Samsung set up. I still don't see how that translates to needing 4k or uhd resolution on your phone. In case you didn't know, 4k is 4096x2160 and uhd is 3820x2160. Samsung managed to make it work with only 2560x1440. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  15. Once the network is where it should be, its going to take time to regain lost subscribers, fix brand image, return to profitability etc. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. Pretty much. I won't upgrade for a long time. It's never fun trying to explain the reason their TV looks bad is because cable TV can't keep up. Upscaling only goes so far. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  17. Best Buy sold the Nexus 5 for $400 vs Google Play's $350 price. My store price matched Google Play for me, but it's not hard to see the price being different.
  18. Devices may move up to that resolution but it doesn't mean its a good thing. You can have a beautiful display with 1080p resolution on a screen the size used in phones. TV's may keep following that path, but content needs to catch up. I deliver and install tv's and appliances and any time I set up one of the newer UHD tv's I have to sit there and explain why it looks like shit compared to what they saw in store.
  19. This happened to me when I bought my sisters m8. I ended up calling telesales and ordered that way since the website was showing the wrong tax amount. I don't know how or why, but I ended up paying less sales tax than was actually due. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  20. Doesn't iPhone WiFi calling still rely on the macro network for sms or mms? If that's the case he might be better off with the Airave until that is fixed.
  21. I'll run some speed tests the next time I'm back in that area, I didn't notice the second carrier anywhere other than at the mall. For reference if anyone wanted to know, the initial carrier was at channel 40978, the second is at channel 41176.
  22. I've never had an issue using GPS on my Nexus 5, maybe I was lucky though. I have been thinking of replacing the battery, where have all of you been buying oem batteries from?
  23. Typical b41 speeds, I don't have a carrier aggregation phone to test it with. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  24. Second band 41 carrier is live in Syracuse, I found this at destiny USA. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  25. Insurance is not a requirement. The rep doesn't want to lose their commission on adding tep. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
