  1. OK, which one of you guys is taking a ride to map the new site down at Channelside or so I need to do it myself lol?
  2. I give everyone permission to take the rest of the night off and go watch the most excellent show on TV

  5. Well there could be 3-4 tower guys working to install panels.. When I used to install Nextel panels there was one or two Nextel reps there, knowing what I know now these were the guys connecting radios we had just ran the coax down the tower for. I also remember a another guy who I thought did testing with a laptop and driving. As far as Ericsson I'm not sure. I have seen the cabinets they install and they are not that big so I would say maybe 2 at the most. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  6. I have only been here a short time but I have to say this community is something else. I was watching over the last 2 days or so the LA market explode on Sensorly because of the members here. Its amazing the effort that all of you put out to make this crazy thing that we love worthwhile. I hope once everyone gets LTE that we don't start to slip and stop checking in on the site or stop coming around period. This place really is great
  7. Just a question Robert if you're around. Could the schedule change based on a major event in the area. As an example like the Superbowl or World Serie. In the case of the Superbowl thats usually set in advance but lets say Detroit gets to the world series could we see a 4G COW pop up there real quick?
  8. I use CDMA field test to see what tower I am connected to if I want to know. I'm not sure how accurate it is but for me it seems to tell me the right tower when I cross check with Roberts map info on LTE sites. I think that when LTE is here though it will change because I think you can actually be connected to two different towers at the same time.

  10. The only reason I brought it up is because since I have joined this site I was under the impression that NV/LTE was requiring that each current sector was going to be brought down as well as the coax, then new panels would be installed on every sector replacing the older ones. I couldn't understand the aggressive number that was being thrown out there of 12000 sites I thought that was crazy. Now that crazy number makes more sense really, especially when you start to factor in rooftop sites. I'm speaking from the view of the tower guys installing the panels and RRUs that's not a hard job as opposed to my scenario. I would imagine 2-3 sites a day that could get done. A company could run 4-5 crews likely working 6 days a week.. So about 50 sites a week then.. That's on the low end of course and that's just one tower company. That's a lot of work for Ericsson and Sprint to run around and play catch up. I still think that we are going to see some big numbers accepted by Sprint, but during this deployment catch up by Sprint is going to essential I'm just not sure Sprint has enough techs to keep up with acceptance. 11. Just so I'm clear then. The tower crews are ONLY putting up a total of 3 panels and 3 RDUs per sector and running fiber to each panel they install? All existing panels are staying in place until later. If all that is true then and this comes from a former tower climber the issues with these sites being completed must be falling on Sprint not being able to keep up with tower guys or the Ericsson techs. I say this only because the tower part sounds like the easiest part of the equation Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  12. I feel the same way.. Love the phone but this toggle thing is ridiculous Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  13. But what about the Viper and iPhone 5 are they having issues? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  14. I think you would have a nice argument to trade in for SG3 if you wanted to. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  15. Confusing my phone is classic. This thread is a million times better than I thought it would be. I can't even read it at work because I just start laughing for no reason. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  16. I really wonder, how many people bought that EVO based on a faster network they never saw..I honestly feel bad for anyone that did
  17. It does have the letters L, T, and E though so its gotta be around the corner
  18. I have a question and I hope this doesn't turn into flame bait but i really would like to see how people feel. Back in 2010 when Wimax was rolling out, I was one of those people that was at Sprint buying a EVO, today though I was thinking that Sprint really screwed people when they never finished the roll out..again no flaming of Sprint but I was one of the lucky one that got Wimax in Tampa market but how did you guys feel that didn't get it? do you feel Sprint should have made it right somehow.. a free LTE device of thier choosing maybe? Was Sprints intention to really have a nationwide rollout of Wimax? This is just a discussion and I would rather Robert not shut this thread down. I'm really curious what you guys were thinking. I'm thinking I would have been on fire though.
  19. Sprint just announced that 22 more cites are being worked in right now and I live within 100 miles of one of them.. LTE is right around the corner!! (please let this one be true lol)
  20. Can anyone answer the second part of my question as far as coverage with one panel as opposed to 2 or 3 panels
  21. Sprint has made some mjor gains in the last couple of years. Customer Service has been 100% better than previously and I think the marketing has been spot on in the last year or so. I remember waiting for Wimax to come but never felt that I needed it right that min because the 3G from Sprint was pretty decent back in June of 2010. Now though I think LTE/NV is needed right now and I'm likely one of the impatient ones. I'm not jumping up and down and complaining like some I see on other sites but I'm getting like a kid at Christmas as my market gets closer..
  22. I'm sorry I thought that said massaged at first..I laughed hard
  23. Talked to a Sprint rep and they said techs are working on MY tower LTE must be coming Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  24. Maybe Robert cam post a sticky about the Sensorly App and how important it is. Not sure how anyone on this site isn't using it for mapping LTE Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
