  1. I personally didn't find the iPhone 5 very impressive. If I were you I'd stick with the Evo LTE. Just use that $100 dollar iTunes giftcard and put it towards movies and music on your Evo. Just download what every you want on iTunes and move it over... easy a that. Got to love the flexibility of Android. I used to be an iPhone admirer for a long time, but Android has really been catching my eye as the better devices.
  2. Flash works fine on my Asus Transformer tf300 with Jelly Bean. Agree with Pyroscott though.
  3. I travel up there frequently so I feel your pain. Sprint is the epitome of awful in that area (one of the few areas I can say I've been dissatisfied with Sprint in). Last time I was there my phone was completely unusable around downtown, USC, and the surrounding areas. Glad to hear they have improved a little since then though! It's going to be a long process, but I'm excited for what's to come with Sprint.
  4. I've had that issue when I had T-Mobile as well. I had always assumed it was because the phone was GSM too because Sprint's and Verizon's frequency's (1900mhz & 800mhz) never caused that kind of interference. If I had to take a guess I'd say it's happening to you again because LTE is similar to GSM, but who knows? Personally, I enjoyed it when I T-Mobile phone because I could put my phone on silent and the speakers would just make that noise whenever I got a text message. No one else where I worked had no idea that I was texting lol. Also for client meetings we have over head projectors with speakers on them. Well I would always know when someone wasn't paying attention because the speakers would freak out all meeting long.
  5. I think I'm going to wait for the next HTC phone. Mostly just so it'll have 800 & 2500mhz LTE.
  6. You know when Apple blatantly ripped off Android's notification and OTA system in iOS 5 I can't seem to remember any fanboys crying foul. Always a second standard when your the biggest company on the block.
  7. By the precedence set forth from this trial, if Henry Ford had patented a chassis that has four rounded wheels then we would drive no other brand of car. As far as Samsung's icons looking similar... the doors on my Chevy look similar to the doors on my friends Nissan. The steering wheel was also an amazingly successful feature that started on one car. Point is we are getting very vague with what we are calling copying. The simple truth is that a Galaxy S and iPhone function as two completely different phones. Honestly though Apple fanboys should be thrilled about Android. If Android hadn't hit the market then Apple probably never would've made all the improvements that went into the iPhone 4. Competition fuels innovation.
  8. If I'm correct, I believe that both the HTC Evo LTE and Samsung GS III can do SVDO 3G & 4G. So perhaps he has upgraded his phone, but not on his S4GRU profile.
  9. Samsung phones certainly are not easily confused with Apple phones like they say. I think that it is completely absurd that Apple has been able to patent a "rectangular device with rounded corners". Definitely a huge misjustice to both Samsung and the consumers worldwide. It's very ironic, but Apple has become the monopolistic tyrant that they used to fight against. A long time has passed since they passed something off as truly innovative.
  10. Thanks! Yeah I'd say for the most part that would be it, but I'm not sure I could get around without 4G at the moment.
  11. THANK YOUUUUUU. I was just wondering what I was going to eat tonight, saw this, and now and heading out to pick up my pizza lol.
  12. Anyone know if anyone has made a fully functional Sense 4.0 ROM yet?
  13. Awesome upload speeds. Makes me wonder how much up WiMax could've handled had it not been capped at 1.5mbps up.
  14. This may be a little off topic.... but, I think that all phones need to take the Motorola Razr Maxx approach. So much more functionality with being able to use your phone how you want without fear of it dying, at the cost of a few millimeters
  15. AT&T is certainly the tyrant of the mobile phone industry. Probably the only provider I wouldn't consider. It's a shame too because I'd like to have a phone on a large GSM network.
  16. I thought that as part of the 1900mhz rebranding that some of their edge areas would finally receive 3G/4G?
  17. This development definitely makes things interesting. Gotta love competition though. This could only be good for us as consumers after all.
  18. Well that's not too far off, but at least for the meantime I'll try not to get too excited whenever I see people working near the cell towers lol. Thanks Robert!
  19. Robert, do you have any idea when the first tower will be up in the area? We are all getting extremely anxious for it now lol.
  20. Really hoping we get some NV love soon. This is what my data looks like with a good signal. It's almost unusable without 4G. At this same location this time last year I was pulling 2.0mbps down.
  21. Would be very excited to hear about the upgrades getting under way in the Tampa/St. Pete area!
  22. Very impressive. The fastest I've ever hit was 2.55mbps. Dang I miss those speeds...
  23. Quite understandable. When they added the extra carriers near me, my situation only got worse. Used to have 2.0-2.5mbps down and now I'm well under 1mbps. I have high hopes for NV thought so I can't wait to see what it has in store for us.
  24. That is an excellent speed. What's odd for me is that I used to get speeds like that before they added an extra carrier to the closest tower next to me. Now I'm lucky to get 1mbps. No idea if the extra carrier was the "cause" of my poor speeds but I stopped getting those speeds around that time
  25. Anyone seen any active yet in the area? I'm itching for these towers to start going live.
