  1. Thought I would share my pre and post network vision signal strengths using the SignalCheck Pro app, site is about three quarters of a mile to a mile from my home. Site has been 3G accepted still no LTE as of yet, and I don't seem to be picking up the rouge LTE signal from a few sites down now. I guess the 3G signal from this site is now dominating and my device has no use to hand-off to another site now and re-scan for LTE. I'm afraid if they turn on 1x 800 it may melt the shutters off my house. Pre-Network Vision Upgrades: Post Network Vision Upgrades:
  2. Looks like there are two sites located on that hill, is it me or does the smaller one look like Clear's WiMax lol Monopole site looks like Verizon...
  3. eHRPD is just a software for a seemless handoff from LTE to 3G, essentially eHRPD is EVDO. You will get the same speeds on 3G EVDO as if you were on eHRPD. Why would you turn off LTE if it is available in your area?
  4. T-Mobile LTE where are they deploying it, because its not around here. Only the big three have LTE service here, T-Mobile only has EDGE and I believe they MAY have 3G in Kingsport, TN but I'm not 100% sure. T-Mobile has ignored this area when it comes to network upgrades. I don't see how they can sell smartphones in this area when they are still on a redundant 2G EDGE network. Maybe one day they will get to this area, but I won't be leaving Sprint not with all the time, effort, and resources they have put in to their new network.
  5. SignalCheck crashes at least twice a week on my stock Galaxy S3, I've noticed that it crashes when switching from 3G to LTE or back from LTE or 3G, especially when your on the edge of an LTE signal when it keeps flip flopping back and forth. 99.9% of the time I know its going to crash because the signal data in the notification bar hangs up and the app is displaying totally different signal data.....oops I talked about crashes But hey, SignalCheck is still the best app for hunting LTE and keeping your eye on your signal, its a must have app!
  6. With Sprint having spectrum in the 800, 1900, and 2500MHz they are in a excellent position for the fastest 4G LTE network. A contractor I spoke to that was very familiar with the Network Vision upgrades said this time next year Sprint's network will be blowing the socks off of Verizon and ATT's network. I'm sure once Sprint migrates most of the voice traffic onto 800 they would be able to deploy 10x10 in various markets once the new network matures. Plus T-Mobile's LTE offerings are far, few, and in between, where I live T-Mobile is still on 2G service...
  7. This "Framily Plan" sounds just like what Sprint employees can get "Friends and Family." Have a few friends that work for Sprint and they only pay 25.00 a month and anyone they add whether a friend or family member is an additional 25.00, I don't know exactly the data allotment they are allowed or how many minutes each line gets but they all have iPhone 5's.
  8. Hmm...wonder why it was skipped. The WiMax site is co-located with Sprint's 1x and 3G EVDO equipment, curious if they would NV this site and add 1900 LTE tor wait until contractors install Spark equipment. One thing I notice about Ericsson around here anyway, they seem to avoid the sites that cover downtown districts. If you look at the Nashville market map, preferably Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol you can see where sites are missing from the NV sites completed. Have you seen this down your way, since Ericsson is your vendor as well?
  9. I know I am posting this in the New Orleans market...but...maybe you guys can answer a question I have. I was reading back in your posts about WiMax and it got me thinking. Where I live there is one protection site that was added which sits in the middle of town and has been avoided with NV upgrades, is this because it has the WiMax equipment? And will the Sprint Spark sites get 1900 LTE as well?
  10. As some processors come in a combo with the board, you still have to make sure you have the chip in the correct place on the socket...every one knows the golden little arrow
  11. One, the bandwidth is shared, so your speeds are going to vary throughout the day. Second, Sprint is targeting LTE to be in the 5-8Mbps range which is more than enough for a smartphone. Have your tried the Signalcheck app on your phone to see what your signal levels are when you are testing the LTE speed? You seeing 3-7Mbps means you could *long shot* have LTE signal levels in the -102 to -110dB range. You are seeing 12-16Mbps because a site doesn't have much data traffic on it and you were closer to a Sprint site. There was a few Sprint sites that I was pulling 30Mbps off of when LTE was first rolled out back in the summer, now those sites are hovering in the 9-15Mbps range. You being a premier sponsor, have you looked at the maps to compare towers that have been completed with LTE to the ones that are still lacking? Just because Sprint has officially launched LTE doesn't mean your area is 100% complete. Where I live they officially launched LTE back in the summer here, but there are a few sites that have yet to be lit up with LTE.
  12. Tigerdirect.com is another great place to purchase computer parts. Thats whats so great about building your own machine, you can set the price, what you like, what you don't like.
  13. I need to inventory all the computer parts I have and build you a nice mid range PC that can be easily upgradeable in the future
  14. Or the upcoming game Titanfall
  15. Virgin and Boost Mobile merging makes since, I figured they would have done this months ago, but doesn't Sprint have a their own pre-paid service called Sprint As You Go? Why would you have Sprint As You Go and Sprint Freedom when essentially they are both the same service. I'd assume they would dump Sprint As You Go and fold everyone into Sprint Freedom just as the Virgin and Boost Mobile customers, time will tell.
  16. If there's any fire needing to be lit, it needs to be lit on the backhaul side of things. NV 1.0 isn't completed and a lot of sites are left with new equipment but lacking new backhaul. If Sprint can't get fiber from these bigger ISPs they need to start looking at smaller municipal owned ISPs.
  17. Custom built is the only way to go, I operate a small computer repair business out of my home (during the weekends only). Who would ever buy a pre-built system, of course I always get clients that ask if the computers they are selling at Wal-Mart are a good deal ......uhhhh...no.
  18. It would sound better using "Clear Business Solutions" for their fixed 4G data solutions, why use Nextel? Nextel was killed off, it left that bad iDEN chirp ringing in everyone's ears. And everyone remembers when Sprint Nextel starting sponsoring NASCAR, almost every diehard race fan had a dang annoying chirping phone....believe me I know, I live about a mile from the "World's Fastest Half Mile," Bristol Motor Speedway. The first thing people are going to think is..."Is Sprint bringing back those annoying chirping phones?"
  19. You won't be able to see LTE if your still rolling with the iPhone 4, secondly only LTE has been rolled out in Knoxville, 3G enhancements will come at a later time.
