On Thursday the CFO stated at a conference that the Magic Box will go into mass production mode and they expect to have "hundreds of thousands" of them.

The nice aspects of tapatalk are the ability to easily post photos without limits and notifications (but this has gotten fuzzy lately). The worst aspect is constant bugs.

The CFO of Sprint said on Thursday they will be making hundreds of thousands of Magic Boxes. That would take at least 25 hex primary GCI, so I would extend it to 0EF and then we will have to see what ranges they use after that. He noted that it costs them about the same as a smartphone and they may report MagicBox tonnage with the next quarterly report.

Not always. LTE could be from a former Clear site, 1xRTT site could be witbout LTE, or LTE and 1xRTT patterns could be different/range. Please use regular SCP thread for this type of question next time. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

No problem with v20. It remains to be seen with v30. Much higher odds than Note 8 since Galaxy 8 does not. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

Unless it is a great deal, my next phone will need to have 4CA support (or an existing phone breaks). Must also support SCP showing EARFCNs unrooted. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

Looking for Note 8 SCP reports to see if EARFCN works. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

I woyld just send them. Then Mike can look at them, which is often late at night. Otherwise much time will be wasted. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

I occasionally have issues with turning off logging or changing site notes when not intended. If their was a confirmation prompt or a special setting to prevent this that would be great. I know it occurs with others as well. Thanks

It bumps firmware to ZV8, July 1 2017 Android security patch level. Other aspects seem the same. SCP earfcn API still works, same with starting a call using WiFi calling and dropping the WiFi link and still being able to use data while in the call. It had no release notes or comments. Calling plus not yet supported.

Got a new system update. Installing it now

I am concerned that this will reduce the apps main feature, it's ability to track. I don't mind one (preferably the best signal or average signal) per location, but I do like to have all locations.
-
Latest does work on Android 5.0.2 (rooted) with freedompop, although I had to delete the data folder else it never made it displaying the map. I do get the earfcn.

Calling Plus (VoLTE "Lite")
dkyeager replied to burnout8488's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
There is no doubt that much work remains for VoLTE. For those who are desperate for data access with voice beyond Wi-Fi, Sprint has done a favor by releasing Calling Plus. This gives Sprint data to improve the network for VoLTE. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk -
I have seen nTelos airaves in Jackson Ohio, so I would expect they will have them.
-
Sprint does alter the transfer thresholds so I would occasionally check on it or complain with the Sprint app. I personally set my priorities to b41 then b25 the b26. Of course at many sites/locations the network will choose but it helps at others. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

More likely that they are lighting up other sites. They often turn surrounding sites/ sectors off for a few days. Possible it is also on but not public, also for testing. It takes a long time to fully tune b26 LTE 800, so your best experience will be around the holidays. Generally b26 coverage starts small and umbrellas outward. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

Eci equals decimal form of gci, commonly seen on apple devices. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

Are all designed to go that route eventually? With gci change? Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

Network signal guru, an app designed for carrier use. Extra features were $50 per month. Requires root, prefers king root (gasp), only works with some phones. Allows band locking as default feature plus carrier aggregation. Note the the gci starts with fe rather than 018. Shentel is changing some sites to their gci. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

Rumor is it was a fiber cable cut that affected a number of carriers. Downdetector.com had Sprint with the most complaints closely followed by AT&T. Verizon also some compliants in similar areas. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

In other markets there is another way to increase your odds. Load your phone with a 1x800 prl which will then look to b26 LTE 800 for LTE. Update prl when done testing. This assumes a market has 1x800 before b26 LTE 800. With VoLTE beginning, they could choose not to do 1x800 in West Washington. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk

A few phones allow you to disable b25 with the MSL and ##data# but for most it disables all LTE. Network Signal Guru will allow you to disable B25, but it requires root and seems to favor king root (gasp). It also does not work on all phones or all firmware versions.
