  1. Yup! saw they signed a big deal with Ericsson for deployment. It all seems "legit" but I think it's mostly posturing and once again meeting minimum requirements.
  2. I agree that Dish really needs to stay away from any real wireless discussions. I still do not get how they have effectively duped the government into letting them horde all that spectrum.
  3. Here comes the anti merger coalition.. https://www.4competition.org/about/ C spire is probably the only one who has legitimate concerns (and probably quite a few other regional carriers) about decreased competition leading to increased roaming rates.
  4. I do not believe so, he was super vague about it, and stopped himself before going into any further details.
  5. I think it's a matter of picking up whats a finite resource at this point. Besides Dish hoarding a sh*t ton of spectrum, there is very little to be had at the midband or lowband range, so its not unwise to go for what's out there. I'm still meh about 600mhz, from what i've seen so far, it's no different from 700mhz and gets easily congested especially at 5x5, which is most of what Tmobile has deployed (assuming they are saving some unused spectrum for 5G)
  6. Don't know if people are aware, and surprised no one has mentioned, it looks like Sprint participated in the millimeter wave auctions, what looks to be under a different name according to the CFO. This could work both ways whether they go at it alone or together with TMobile, who does indeed need to expand on their own mwave portfolio.
  7. You need to give it a few days to optimize.
  8. Holy smokes! https://twitter.com/SprintCTO/status/1073232266808184834
  9. MB3 already has the hardware and software that basically make it most of the way there. Hopefully the software makes it eventually.
  10. You can make that argument on a nationwide scale, but in cities like NYC/Chicago/LA where the carriers have way more customer parity, that disparity is not really an issue. So that argument is somewhat invalid. Where ATT and V win out, is in more rural and suburban areas.
  11. The other user your calling has no bearing as to whether your call will be routed through VoLTE or not. If the setting is enabled on your device and your in a supported area you will be able to use data and voice simultaneously.
  12. This is Verizon's home town, not only that, they had politicians in their pockets here until very recently with the whole FIOS fiasco. Here is some insight on that.. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/13/nyregion/ny-sues-verizon-fios.html Despite that, they have had the easy road deploying fiber with massive state subsidies.
  13. Not in my city, Sprint is currently the fastest! Especially after LTE-A was pushed out a couple of weeks ago! https://twitter.com/SprintCTO/status/1068227212233633792
  14. Im hoping they never merge, and in fact, I will enjoy their separation for as long as possible.
  15. I swap 10-15 times a year between 5 lines. That would mean an additional $300 just to do something Sprint customers do for free. Not just that, Sprint is launching eSim support now to make things even more straight forward. No thanks!
  16. Remind me again why people want this merger to happen?! https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/12/03/metro-by-t-mobile-now-charges-a-15-fee-every-time-you-swap-phones/
  17. This seems like a huge deal for Sprint! No more fumbling for sim cards! Pixel 3 will be first to support it. https://www.blog.google/products/project-fi/bringing-esim-more-networks-around-world/
  18. Nice! We're you connected to the MB while on the call?
  19. Reminder that Sprint site density in NYC is pretty insane.. This is just small cells!
  20. V30+ just got its VoLTE update!! Nice to see the list finally growing!
