  1. You also have to consider that it's not just wind and destruction. A simple rainy day can cause delays. And I Isaac brought a ton of rain inland, and moved extremely slowly. So work in the Kansas market, and part of the Texas markets could have been affected by that as well. Not that Ericsson was moving all that quickly anyway...
  2. Haha. She's likely causing a stop in progress in Florida today, and could cause a huge headache for the Northeast this weekend and next week. Maybe they could see into the future delays?
  3. Physical. Tilting them once, and then going back and changing them again would be a lot of work. That would probably slow down the progress. I'm sure it was something they considered, but doing it this way is more efficient. And they need to be as efficient as they can be.
  4. Those don't look like Sprint panels to me. It's possible they were on the other building, just concealed within something on the roof.
  5. Have you gotten Sensorly to run? Not seeing anything show up in that area. You're hitting "Map Trip"?
  6. eHRPD doesn't take much to install, it's just a software update, and whole clusters or even markets are done all at once, so it's not likely that that was the reason for tower troubles. eHRPD also doesn't result in faster speeds. Robert has written a large article detailing exactly what eHRPD is. I would not attribute the change is speeds you posted to NV, rather just normal network fluctuation. If you start to get speeds of 2-2.5+Mbps on 3G, then we might be talking NV.
  7. National Weather Service predicting high winds as well. I have no idea how well the towers hold up in weather like that, but I would imagine there shouldn't be too much damage since it's not a direct strike from the hurricane. I would think the biggest impact is that crews will not be able to work tomorrow.
  8. AT&T covers a much wider area per cell. That's why their signal seems to be stronger further away from the tower. Because of the signal type, Sprint has to place their towers closer together, and in densely populated areas, they put a severe downtilt on the cells so that they can maximize capacity, but it limits coverage. Some cells only cover a couple of blocks. However, this will work in Sprint's favor, as it will help to keep them from getting overloaded as quickly at AT&T or Verizon will/have already since Sprint has denser coverage.
  9. Some sites have up to 4 per panel, so three is not out of the ordinary.
  10. Perhaps they were confident enough in the NV equipment that they already deinstalled the legacy equipment?
  11. I would have to agree with the weather channel on this, winds could gust to 60mph on the Atlantic coast overnight and Friday. Then it's the Northeast's turn.
  12. Behind? The only thing they're behind on is coverage. I doubt AT&T will be able to maintain those speeds for too much longer. Sprint on the other hand, with this plan, will have plenty of room for growth, with LTE on 800, and Clear's LTE hotspots in major metros.
  13. Big cities are a priority.... LA, NYC, Chicago, Boston, DC, San Francisco, Miami, Nashville, Memphis.... all will have decent LTE coverage by the end of the year. Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Baltimore, Kansas City and San Antonio already have it. Sprint is just doing entire markets... which are state wide is some cases. That's why it seems like they are focusing on small cities. They just happen to fall in the markets were upgrades are occurring.
  14. The only thing that is good for is showing off. 4Mbps if more than enough for just about anything you'll do on your phone. If you're doing anything that needs more than that.... you should probably not be using your phone for it. Just sayin
  15. Hopes may have to put on hold here.... unfortunately. Hurricane Sandy looks like she wants to side-swipe Florida in the next several days. I would expect crews to be pulled out of the area sometime tomorrow if the track holds true. I'm just guessing, but I would assume that they don't want their crews to be working in 35-50mph winds.
  16. But they are connecting, because it is mapping on Sensorly. Just because you can see equipment on towers does not mean that they are completed. It can sometimes be weeks after the equipment shows up that the tower is completed and accepted and then released to the public. There are a number of towers across the NYC market that ARE broadcasting LTE. Sprint is blocking fewer and fewer towers now. If you become a sponsor, you can see what sites have been accepted by Sprint. I can tell you that people are connecting at all the sites that have been accepted, because there are tracks on Sensorly.
  17. That's not quite true. Over the last three weeks, a huge number of LTE sites have been added in Chicago proper. And Chicago was moved out of pre-launch mode this week with just over 60% completed. LA IS in pre-launch mode now, with completed sites being made discoverable. At the rate of completion right now, I would not be surprised to see Sprint announce LA as an LTE market sometime in late November. If you become a sponsor, you can have access to the maps of completed sites in active markets, and see the current rate of production. It would seem that Sprint is allowing connections to pretty much any completed tower now. So I would almost say that the pre-launch notion is no longer relevant as every market that has LTE complete towers are now allowing connections. I have no idea when NYC will be ready to be announced, but I do think that any completed towers will be released to the public, effectively putting it into pre-launch.
  18. LTE coverage is not the same as WiMax. It is not even close, not only is the signal different, but WiMax is located in many cases on completely different towers than LTE. Sprints towers are not supporting "both spectrum's of service" as you say. They are only broadcasting 3G and LTE. These maps show LTE coverage. WiMax coverage has not, and will not change until it is turned off sometime in or after 2015. Clear is no longer deploying WiMax cells, so what you have is what you get. Your phones utilize Clearwire's WiMax signal for 4G. They are not capable of using Sprint's LTE signal. In order to use the improved LTE coverage, you will need a different phone.
  19. Perhaps I'm missing something, but how does this coverage map pertain to your phones? Neither of them are capable of LTE.
  20. Dkoellerwx

    Huh? Clear ?

Of course there is. That's Sprint LTE there, but Clear could develop one that supports Clear's WiMax and LTE. However, I don't know if they will, have not heard anything about it. I do not know if they are even going to be offering their LTE service to the regular consumer outside of wholesale agreements with Sprint and any other company they make an agreement with.
  21. So far, none that we know of. Everything people have tried does not work.
  22. eHRPD is simply a software upgrade, and has no bearing on the roll out of actual NV equipment.
