  1. Just saw a purple blip pop up on Sensorly in the Nashville area!
  2. The iPhone Sensorly app does not allow for data collection due to restrictions by Apple. iPhone users will not be able to map LTE.
  3. Looks like one. Is that a Sprint tower location? If so, then I'd say yes for sure.
  4. All of Sprints towers are being upgraded. (Minus about 100, but none in PR as far as I know)
  5. It'll depend on where you are in the scan schedule how quickly your phone will flip on over to LTE. If you are patient enough, and have a good enough signal, it will switch on it's own. If you have a very marginal signal, or just entered an area with signal and want LTE right now, you may have to toggle. Especially in a market with extremely spotty coverage like LA right now, I would expect there are many areas like this. As more towers are turned on/upgraded, it won't be an issue. Though, as some have stated elsewhere, the EVO does have issues connecting, but seeing as more people have GS3's than EVO's, it probably won't be as noticeable.
  6. No NV panels on that tower yet. I'm not familiar with the cabinets, so can't answer that question. Watch the top rack for new equipment NV hits.
  7. I figured as much, just haven't seen any. Probably haven't been in areas that need that much capacity.
  8. Pre-NV Sprint always has two panels per side, and, at least around here, they're rounded panels instead of flat. That's what I go off of, usually works. I can always pick out AT&T because they have a short-tall-short pattern to the panels.
  9. AT&T is the top one, that's for sure. Sprint is the next one. I don't know about the bottom two.
  10. Most of the time, a PRL update is not necessary You just need to have the radio turn off and on so that your phone scans for LTE. The simplest way to do that is to turn airplane mode on and off. The only time you would need a PRL update is if you are running anything other than the default PRL, which I doubt is the case.
  11. I'm also not saying there aren't any problems with it. For the first month after the launch in KC, it was very frustrating! It was difficult to connect to LTE in areas where I should have just been connected. A month later, after the build-out had progressed, and the update had come out, the issues went away. Now, it's entirely possible I was just in ideal conditions for the EVO. I was never deep inside of a building, and lived within 1 mile of two upgraded towers, and within 2 miles of 4. So my area was very saturated. And I didn't spend to much time away from that general area. So my experience has not been bad. However, again, I have not been able to compare side-by-side with the GS3. So my experience is not entirely complete either. Now that I'm no longer in an LTE market, it is still a great phone. Even if it turns out that there is an irreversible problem with the EVO LTE, I probably won't be switching to a different phone. It works well enough for me, and I really prefer Sense over other skins, or a Nexus, as well as the screen and camera.
  12. Denial? Did I say a problem doesn't exist? No. I said I haven't had a problem. Could it work even better? Probably. But I didn't have any noticeable issues after the major late August update. But I was also in an area that was very saturated with LTE. In areas that aren't as saturated, sure, it probably doesn't work as well.
  13. I didn't have any problems like that in my area of Kansas City. In the LTE covered areas, never lost the signal.
  14. There likely are connectivity issues with the EVO LTE, but I never personally witnessed them once the late August update was pushed to my phone. Now, I never got to compare side-by-side with a GS3 and travel around looking for LTE like Robert did, but after the August update, my phone connected to LTE where I would expect it to, and held the signal for all reasonable conditions as far as I could tell. Now, if you want your phone to connect to LTE the instant you have an LTE signal, it may not be the best phone. The scan time does seem to be a little high, which could make it seem like it's not finding the signal, it just takes a little extra time. For me, that's not big deal. It's also working as great as it was the day I got it. Not seeing any buggy issues, such as the Sense loading screen that others have complained about, or any other issues. However, I have had generally good luck with phones. My opinion is that it is still a great phone. The issue comes in when the market you are located in is still being built out with LTE. In that phase, it may be rather frustrating. In the Johnson County suburbs of Kansas City, the build-out is nearly complete, and I had LTE coverage pretty much everywhere I went with my EVO. However, now that I'm no longer in an LTE market, it doesn't matter. I still have a great phone, just on wifi most of the time. So it's a great phone for a non-LTE market, a great phone for a finished LTE market, it's the in-between that could be a bit iffy.
  15. Those data speed upgrades are not NV upgrades. The Sprint Network site only tracks the Network Maintanence patches (band aides if you will) that are being pushed out to hold over the network until NV arrives. Completely unrelated to NV.
  16. Another photo from one of Robert's posts. Middle panel. You can see some of the RRUs behind the panels.
  17. The panel in the middle on this tower is a Sprint NV panel. That is what you should look for in the coming days on your tower. Typically the RRUs (boxes) are mounted behind the panel instead of under it. [images borrowed from this page]
  18. There is no NV on that tower. I'm looking for a photo to show what they look like.
  19. Perhaps replacing the cabinets at the base of the tower. I can see that there are several carriers there, it's a little difficult to distinguish which one is Sprint. Clear is at the bottom, I think Sprint is one of the top two. When NV goes up, it will be very clear which one it is.
  20. Any chance you could get a shot a little further out from under the tower? Hard to distinguish what's what from that angle. I don't see any NV panels yet. From your other pictures, I would expect that Sprint is one of the top two racks there. Can you tell which one they are working on?
  21. If you have a moment, kindly download and run the Sensorly app and add your connection to the coverage maps!
  22. Well here we go! Guess that counts. http://s4gru.com/ind...dpost__p__53949
