  1. The only issue there is he will have to write long emails and I don't know if touch would be the best for him because he will have to write lengthy emails which I can't even picture my dad doing that let alone using a touch screen. But tnx everyone for the replys it is much appreciated
  2. Okay one quick question how easy is video chat with hangouts on the chromebooks? Never used hangouts before and my step mom and dad use Skype right now and I've read that chromebooks can't get Skype so how is hangouts for video chat? That's the one thing that has me worried? And the Acer 720 is what I have been looking at is it still worth the buy for him with his very simole application he will use?
  3. I didn't know where to post this so delete or move it if you have to. I just kinda curious about people's experience with chromebooks, they are cheap and my dad is looking for a cheap laptop he can email, video calls, and get directions for use in his semi. So I'm just wondering for a simple user not needing much out of them if it would be a good replacement for Windows? Performance is kind of a big thing because my dad isn't tech savy and gets frustrated easily. So thoughts?
  4. Prenv even in my moms living room with a big bay window was hard to get txts on time. Now with 1x 800 I can talk in her basement which was impossible even upstairs before. And I now my last visit I got the surprise of b26 inside. Great surprise even though I don't need it there but her road needed it. Dead spot even shown on sprints coverage maps to this day is gone now. Think they'd update their maps because one thing I will say is 4g coverage is still mildly overstated. Even with b26
  5. That makes me wonder... How are ZTE phones nowadays? I had the warp on boost for a little while and God that thing was horrible.
  6. Well they only offered me like 23$ for my s3 in March... And it was just a little rough around the edges. But still worked just fine and the screen was fine. I just decided to keep it for backup. Ended up giving it to a friend so he could join my framily.
  7. "Spark" devices also include sprints 800mhz spectrum which is better for indoor coverage and depending on the "lay of the land" maybe give way better coverage outdoors as well. If you have signal check pro. Take note that every time you have evdo or ehnd that you should end up with lte in that location. With how the towers are tuned in my area I drop from band 25(1900mhz) to band 26 (800mhz) straight to 1x800. Completely skipping evdo all together. I hope that helps. Edit: but completely ignore this if your in the IBEZ. I can't remember how far from the Mexican border that goes. So best of luck with your choice.
  8. In Milwaukee for the weekend and Sprint has been treating me very nice. 10mbs in my hotel room thank god I don't have to deal with the crappy WiFi. My iPad won't even load a webpage. Pretty much the whole ride here no problems at all besides one dead spot on 39 That really needs some 800 or needs it turned up. Glad I could see the network progress so much in the past. Didn't have to drive for the first time in awhile.
  9. Well I know in my area I wouldn't be surprised if us cellular has 90% market share... So there has got to be some good paying customers somewhere.
  10. Yes I understand that but many people just naturally understand the difference. Before I could understand usually in instances where you were on 1x you were in a low signal area anyway so you would only get 1 bar of 1x anyway. But now with 1x 800, I get 3- full bars of 3g displaying on my phone so even before I came to this forum I would have thought would provide a descent browsing experience but then be presented with error messages.( I have never really experienced sprints "horrible" evdo everyone has talked about for the longest my long time with Sprint has actually always been enjoyable) That's just my view on that situation. But I guess that's why we have SCP eh? Lol
  11. Ya I hate that Sprint took away our 1x icon... Makes evdo look like shit sometimes. I could understand before with 1900 1x and evdo but now with 1x 800 I have voice in places never before and when you have a 3g icon and no data it just looks bad. Don't get me wrong I understand 1x is a 3g tech but still for the avg Joe just makes Sprint look bad.
  12. Ya it does seem like for the average user it is kinda complex.
  13. And I feel with my one max it's almost the opposite I almost feel like my earpiece can't be turned down enough... But I guess some people just have bigger mouths then others lol
  14. If you have b26 in your house I can tell you, you prolly have awesome reception on 1x 800 too. Lol
  15. My experience at six flags this year was great compared to last year! Last year no data all day calls took minutes to connect and failed texts. This year b26 everywhere (only spot I would lose it was bat man in the tunnel but still just a airplane toggle away). Calls and txts worked no problem. God what nv can do... Evdo was unusable still and b25 was faint but still useable at about 1mbs. And there were crazy amounts of people there today. Busiest I've seen it. 3 hrs to get on goliath. 2 and a half for raging bull... It even took me an hour to get on the damn wizzer! Lol but from a cell phone point of view I was very impressed. From last year it's like night and day.
  16. At six flags today and data is usable for once! B26 is doing it's job! Still running at about 3 mbs but that is just fine with me!
  17. I have to strongly agree with you on the lte reception on the s3 it whoops my one max on b25. Like 10dBm difference... Lol but b26 makes it so worth it.
  18. Well I have a tri band device and I know in the up I get evdo in ishberming mi.
  19. Well I'm kinda loving nv my mom's house was a dead zone dropped calls no data. Barely could txt. Now I have lte there with b26. Only at about 3 mbs but from unusable evdo even outside her house to lte inside is a blessing. Even in the inner part of the house you can get usable 3g and 1x 800 cleared up the dropped calls. I understand hers is probably best case scenario but it really is awesome wat nv does in some instances.
  20. Okay I have a one max and I've had a problem lately where my phone after it drops b26 it will cling to a dead evdo connection with sometimes -118 dBm will be completely unusable for anything when there is a -90 dBm 1x 800 connection that would at least allow slow web browsing... And this only really happens when I drop off b26 that has been optimized I would guess because lte works farther out the evdo... Just an observation seeing if anyone else has this problem. One thing I must say is that b26 is awesome.
  21. This is the screen I get when I tap Idk it won't go away besides for a reset then about an hour or 2 later it's back
  22. Okay I just got a replacement one max not to long ago cuz my camera was going crazy... I'm having this weird issue where a notification pops up about "smith" is disabled tap to open and then it pops up a weird window... I can't find anything on Google o.o
  23. Probably going to six flags this weekend does anyone know how data is there? Last year every time I went I had issues...
