Well I've also noticed I'm ALWAYS on 800 unless I leave the area which still makes it look like the setting are all the same around here. Its a rarity to see 1900

I don't like that it doesn't record the dbm of lte on the speedtest. Its the dbm of the cdma connection... minor but irriating because I still have to open signal check pro.

I Don't qoute me on this but I think with android 4.3+ signal bars show lte. So with sprint using 1900 mhz for lte mostly at this point your just bound to have a weaker 4g signal then 3g. Sad fact of 4g, better speeds means less coverage.

It all depends on where you live and your closest tower. If you donate we have maps that will give you all the answers you wish lol

She loves it though and holds onto lte like a beast. Didn't really play with it but had 4g at her house which my s3 never gets it. And the 4g was even useable.

My mom got this monster on saturday. Damn that thing is big. Rep also talked her into a 50 $ galaxy tab, I don't understand the point but apparently she thinks its a good idea lol. (She also has an Ipad with hotspot plan on her phone. So its rather confusing)

Airplane mode doesn't do it. Your phone "remembers" where it was and scans there first. Only way is prl update only way to make it start at the top of the prl list.

Your just not picking up what I'm putting down. 800 lte is said to have a little of an advantage over 1900 evdo. I mean in fringe areas where sprint is lacking spectrum for 5x5 lte and 1x. Put up 800 lte so we can have a little more data in fringe areas where we couldn't use data before because 1x sucks. But still make voice calls fine on roaming. Now you get it?

I have a few questions I don't know if they have been answered elsewhere but just some questions. I know the new hotspots have lte priorities set up 1900 lte as first, I would have thought it would go band 41, 25, 26. Just for the most use on the biggest pipe les congestion right? (This is an opinnion don't know if it holds turn). But do you think the newer triband phones will be set like this? I could see the hotspots maybe have 1900 first because maybe when in development clear was still the owner of 2600 so sprint didn't wanna pay them all the time. At wat dbm do you think a triband device should switch bands? I would guess 105-115? Because anything really after -110 is sometimes hit or miss with speeds I've noticed(I have the s3)

I thought that in some areas sprint didn't have all smr... which would mean either 3x3 lte and 1 1x carrier or just a 5x5 lte network. which people said perviously sprint has chosen to use it all for lte. Which I could see with all the voice roaming sprint already has in place. I could see in the short term, sprint only doing lte because we already have voice in many areas where its only 1x data cuz of roaming.

But that's the thing, they were talking about where sprint is spectrum lacking, so the resources aren't already in place coverage wise. So I was wonderin if sprints plan in those areas is to just flip on smr lte and leave some voice traffic on roaming. Because like mentioned above no one talks on the phone anymore lol.

I live in rapids. All towers are 4g active only very few spots in town I lose 4g. Works great to avg 10 down bout 5 up everywhere. Ull enjoy comin lol. 800 is also almost everywhere lol.

Do you guys think they are going 4g only with 800 smr in some parts of the country because they already have such extensive 1x roaming? So if they develop 800 4g in those markets for data and just leave voice roaming?

She has done this for 2 years straight with 3g... why would it change with 4g. The only thing I could see is her using it more so needing a bigger plan.

She pays for the hotspot, she uses it at her cabin like I said. Usually for a weekend everyother week. It works for her, she rarely breaks 1gb a month. Edit: and she really only has it to have it, if she wants to use her labtop for facebook, or wat. And why jump to illegal tethering.

Okay I have a couple questions for anyone that has actually played with this phone in a store. Okay so my mom has an upgrade she wanted the note 3, but since she uses hotspot for internet at her cabin and is at very fringe signal area ( to use netflix on it her OG evo must be outside lol). I told her she should wait for triband even tho it may never get to her right away, but 800 lte would work great for her. So for my questions, How is the screen? 720 p on a 6.3 inch screen is kinda crappy but the og evo had about the same ppi which she doesn't complain about the sharpness of the display. So just curious for the average user going from a og evo to the mega see a difference? Processing speed, she doesnt game or anythin to extensive but I don't want her to get a laggy peice of crap, I have the s3 and I have no problems, so if its on par with that it would be great. Final question, has ANYONE heard any sort of dates? For preorders or anything? Thank you guys sorry for all the questions!

There is also cellcom "verizon rural" ... but I have yet to find 1 person on cellcom. Only met 2 with verizon ( verizon isn't available for our zip have to have a different area code to start service last time I checked)

If they did I'd be forced to leave sprint I think... :/

They maybe a roaming partner idk... but I live in the heartland of their service area and I always roam on us cellular. So not to worried. I feel bad for a lot of people around here though unless att goes crazy with coverage... sad to say but if att does convert all towers they'll be a big player here. I'm the only sprint sub I know around here the others are cut in half betweebn element and us. Sad sad day for small carriers.

My city wisconsin rapids i even though town is 100 percent complete all towers are upgraded (granted there are only 4 lol). Just hasn't been launched til nowish.
