Yes, and we enjoyed reading it again -- since you quoted the entire lengthy post. AJ

That seems to be a non SVLTE, single radio issue. When your handset keeps using data -- as smartphones are prone to do -- it will linger longer on eHRPD/EV-DO. An active data session will hand down to eHRPD/EV-DO but not the other direction. AJ

It is not that simple. Coordination among firmware, baseband, RF front end, and antennas seems to be something of a black art. AJ

I think you recognize your own problem. AJ -
Yep, my home screen shortcut disappeared again today. With every update, I have to long press SignalCheck Pro in the app drawer and drag the shortcut back to the desired spot on the home screen. AJ

SoftBank is lighting a fire under Sprint

Yeah, that is "interesting" because disseminating the rumor serves Moffett's anti Sprint purposes. AJ -

"GinaDee," you have not been around very long, so you do not know the backstory. Robert and others previously countered Joan's diatribes, inaccuracies, and wishful thinking in the comments to her articles. She may know investing, but she does not know spectrum. And when it comes to Sprint, she is incorrigible. Thus, we no longer give her credence or acknowledgement. Would you like to join her? AJ -

Yeah, I know Robert. But who is this "Robbert"? Is he like Tom Crooze? AJ -

See: Craig Moffett. Some people just pursue vendettas against Sprint. AJ -

Joan has to be pushing age 70 by now. Too much vibration might disintegrate her into dust. AJ -

Latest signs of Blackberry's exit from relevance

As BlackBerry inevitably gets eaten away, Google should jokingly name an upcoming Android version "Blackberry Cobbler" AJ -

The international boundary runs through the middle of Lake Erie. That provides an added degree of protection through distance based attenuation, since there are effectively no wireless operations for 15-20 miles on either side of the border. It works in Cleveland, but it will not help Detroit and Buffalo. AJ

Tim is right. This non Nexus 5 discussion is veering toward the guardrails. We already have plenty of "unlimited" data and tethering on topic, albeit contentious debate elsewhere. If you like, we can move these posts to one of those threads. But they cannot stay here. AJ

SoftBank is lighting a fire under Sprint

I am reflecting the reality of the situation. Managers do not care what salesman know. They care that salesman move product -- be it cars or cellphones. AJ -

No, it is not. And that is why career salesman shift jobs from selling cars to insurance to mortgages to electronics. Sales is sales. And in many instances, the more knowledgeable and informative the salesman is, the more indecisive the consumer becomes in the face of a more complex choice. AJ -
T-Mobile LTE & Network Discussion
WiWavelength replied to CriticalityEvent's topic in General Topics
Well, New York was another special case. Prior to the AT&TWS merger, Cingular had no native presence in the New York metro. T-Mobile had the same problem in California. It was really quite embarrassing for national operators Cingular and T-Mobile to be absent from New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, and/or San Francisco. So, they struck a network sharing agreement. In essence, Cingular got to use the T-Mobile network and sell service in New York, while T-Mobile got to do likewise in California. I suspect that is your recollection. Then, the network sharing agreement was terminated as part of the Cingular-AT&TWS merger -- with T-Mobile buying the somewhat redundant Cingular network in California. AJ- 4,425 replies

Mike, this may be a beta tester issue, but it seems lately that we are receiving a new version nearly every day. I do not want to hamper your workflow, but I would prefer that you release a new beta only about once a week, as I have to restart SignalCheck Pro and recreate the home screen shortcut each time. It is just a minor annoyance, though one that gets repetitive. AJ
