  1. Gotcha. I apologize, I didn't realize you were there and knew for certain the Nextel equipment was off the tower. Sigh. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  2. Just because someone isn't aware Nextel isn't an active network doesn't make them stupid. Anymore than you being unaware state statute 17-240 was replaced with 18-240A, or something of the sort. Don't be arrogant. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  3. It's a 7 Meg used test, when on LTE sensorly uses like 30, my guess is just a bad test. What was the result immediately after that one? My guess is real. Where did you take this test? Should be easy enough for someone to see on the sensorly map. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  4. A radio tower used for emergency communications as well as cellular collapsed in last nights storm in North Adams Mass. Pretty wild. Each link has some different pictures. http://www.iberkshires.com/story/46132/North-County-Communications-Affected-by-Radio-Tower-Collapse.html http://wwlp.com/2014/03/30/massive-communications-failure-in-north-adams/ http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2014/03/north_adams_restores_emergency.html
  5. Tuesday will decide my upgrade fate. Its going to be the M8 or S5. I am still pretty torn, seeing some official specs will make me finally decide. I am leaning M8. Personally, I loved the original EVO, it was one of the best phones I ever owned. That being said, the S3 has been too. Anxious for Tuesday.
  6. I think this is a very logical, well thought out theory, and probably is 100% right. http://www.wired.com/autopia/2014/03/mh370-electrical-fire/
  7. When the plane went to 45k feet everyone would of died if the oxygen masks had already used up their supplies (chemical generation of oxygen), where the pilot(s) are on bottled oxygen which will last much longer. By the time they hit land again, they were probably already dead/unconscious. That's my opinion based on what "facts" have been released. Either way, I am going to say, if it were possible for someone to communicate they would of. During 9-11, 13 years ago, they communicated, certainly if they could of, they would of. 8. I was at Trinity College tonight for a while, and still, I cant pick up 800 on the standard PRL to save my life on my S3. I even went roaming. When I flashed the premiere sponsor prl, I got 800 right away. I dont get it either.
  9. Robert, I absolutely love your optimism in laying out what they must and should do. That type of initiative would save Sprint and I think really make it take a firm jump twords long term success. I think TMobile is so overly optimistic that its scary. They came out to promise success to a bunch of people with no contracts. Its going to go 1 of 2 ways. Success and they become #3 and Sprint is in trouble or, they bankrupt themselves and DT sells off their spectrum to the remainders. Can they do that?
  10. I have two jobs. One is a government job as state worker in public safety. No executives are ever fired in this sector, so I will move forward. My second job is with a national company that specializes in revenue management and public safety software solutions. We do not see executive turn over frequently, and when we have, it was all a shuffle to better streamline the company. We have never once moved people just to "mix it up" In fact, when some were let go in the past, it came out to the rank and file about how the change was going to be positive. I have never seen a mix up of top leaders in any company "just because" There is one reason a for profit company changes its leaders, and the reason is they think the change will result in better outcomes that bring in more money. Period. I think Roberts post said it best. I am not happy a guy lost his job and suffers any effects from it. On the flip side, if a guy has to downsize his multi million dollar house to a million dollar house, I have a hard time loosing sleep over that. How many people below him lost a job because of his decisions? Those are the victims. They are the ones that suffer. Not the top tier executive. I am for every person making what they are worth and a company will pay them. If the Sprint tech leaders make 10 million a year, I could care less, If the product is there and the service is great, I actually think they deserve crazy pay if they deliver. Now, the company needs to look bigger and bolder, and maybe the guys leaving aren't the root cause fault of the poor past network, but, they took "no" for an answer one too many times for their bosses liking. Does anyone out there think letting these guys go was a bad move by Sprint? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  11. My sincere apologies as I did not proof read my post before I sent it. The edit option of Tapatalk is painful. :-P Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  12. I am not advocating a celebration of someone loosing their job. I also am not advocating sympathy for a millionaire loosing their job. Bottom line is the buck stops somewhere. If they excelled at their job, they would still have it. I am sure Son didn't push them out to simply shake things up and see what happens. They must of been very sure this will cause a positive change. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  13. Yea sorry, but no. If you choose to live that life style, you prepare for it long term and save some of that money. Executives like this will get another job, him needing carry over money shouldn't be an issue. You make 500k a year and loose your job, I have no sympathy for any financial struggle you want to claim. Guess you are transferring to state college kid or getting loans like the rest of us. Sell your yacht, your beamer, whatever. No sympathy here if they have to sell a 20k square foot house and go down to a 10k. Boohoo. Like I said, if they were worth that money and fell on the sword, they will get another lucrative job elsewhere. Plus I don't think anyone will contest and say network vision couldn't of been handled better in many ways. Just my two cents of opinion. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  14. Fantastic update tonight. Check it out when you guys get a chance. Anyone find Band 41 yet? Anyone want to send me their Nexus 5 so I can go find it for you?
  15. I am in north central CT near the state line, and there was infact a major outage, I could only pick up 1x and it was on a site about 8 miles from me, barely could make a call. Fixed a few hours later. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  16. Here in CT I think 800 has the best call quality not just of Sprint, but all carriers. I can certainly tell when I am on 800 vs 1900 for voice. Not sure where your plethora of data is besides a few people here and there, but I think that's expected, since no way 100 percent of people will agree the sky is blue. 17. Thanks for adding valuable insight. You won the Internet. Congrats! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  18. So, what would be awesome, if someone could maybe summarize framily, what is fact, what is rumor, hiccups, findings, etc. I have 5 lines on my account, 3 are just about done contract. I have 2 family members on their own account, 1 is up 1 isn't. Can we all make a framily? I really want to read this whole thread, but between the bitching and moaning I am turned off by it. Really, I just want to know what the hell it is and what to expect. My local store is always jam packed, so the more I know going into it the faster I can get in and out. If someone wants to PM me, awesome. No bitching please. Over it. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  19. Consider making a donation to keep this site alive, and you will be able to see exactly which towers have had work completed on, and to what level, such as LTE. You will get a much better picture of your area, and you will see it continue to grow over the coming weeks/months until it is completed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  20. I would guess that it was done this way in the past to try to at least garner a direction on 911 calls. Thats just a assumption. With GPS now it should be much less of a concern. One would think that they would broadcast the tower, but then again, having it offset makes it very easy to know what sector you are a truly on, and even know for sure which panels you are using when you aren't head on to one, but in between 2. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  21. The LTE acceptances have been flying lately. If you arent a sponsor and you live in CT (not just the northern market), now is a great time to make a small donation and see whats really going on. Anyone find any Band 41 yet? Student, I am looking at you
  22. While Sprint has made strides to stop that "sprint sucks" reputation, it still hasnt stopped it, and without a firm kick in the rear, they arent going to stop it for at least another 6 months. They really need to accellerate everything at this point. If a backhaul carrier cant lay it in 90 days, they need to fire them, put up microwave, and get another backhaul provider in. A backhaul provider loosing even 100 cell sites will sting their revenue streams enough to get them to shape up or ship out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  23. Exactly. They can't afford not too. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  24. I'm confident that if there are 2 versions of the S5 Sprint will have both, or the better of them. They aren't going to be able to afford having a inferior model to their rivals. If they don't have the premier version (if that exists) it will be a huge disappointment. Like carrying the iPhone 5C and not the 5S. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
