  1. Dont bank on what a rep tells you anymore than you trust your dog for financial advice on the stock market. Its coming, but 30 days might not be something to hang a hat on.
  2. I found a couple of the more rural northern CT sites broadcasting LTE. These sites had microwave dishes on them. When I saw LTE go live on the site in the middle of the cow field, on top of a big hill in Somers, I figured I would go check a few other sites that I knew had microwave on them, since the one in Somers has 2 microwave dishes the size of a pick up truck. Sure enough they were now sending LTE too. I would expect a few more LTE acceptances soon. Things are moving at a nice pace. Now, if they would just get the towers in Windsor Locks going, the entire heart of the area north of Hartford will be rocking and rolling.
  3. Thanks for the info. Hartford has a non test SID, but north of Hartford had been the testing one. Looks like they took the whole cluster north of Hartford down. I re flashed my PRL just to be sure I wasnt missing it, but, since it was the test SID before, hopefully it means they are going to turn it on permanently soon. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  4. I beg the differ when it comes to sprint. Your house is a drop in the ocean to them financially. Your work is most likely a drop in a lake to them financially. These fiber contracts are worth upwards of 1-2000 bucks per month. Sprint should of built in penalties into the bidding of fiber service. They should of had commitment dates set and other expectations to ensure the work got done. If there was only 1 backhaul company available in an area, I can give them the benefit of the doubt, but many places there are many more options than just one. Sometimes there are as many as 4-5. If Sprint held their feet to the fire, it would get done. Sprint could always slide their money to another provider. Sometimes, you get what you pay for, and now Sprint is behind the 8 ball. 5. They already are. Rob Gronkowski and 2 other NFL players have seperate commericals of their "break up" letters with Sprint. Check the tmobile youtube page. All 3 are leaving Sprint (if they even had sprint before who knows) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  6. Still getting 800 in Hartford? Looks like they shut it off north of Hartford
  7. Thank you for the refresher. Now I remembered that. When can I get an S5 and pawn off my S3 again?
  8. Ok so I did some testing in my own house on my S3. I am getting a -19 to -21 signal change between 800 voice and 1900 LTE. I had to go into the basement, since I am so close to the tower, but I was able to get nearly identical readings.
  9. What do you mean it does not idle voice and data? his phones/devices listing reads previously the S3 on his s4gru profile, so if he saved tapatalk signature with his settings and loaded on new device, it would still say that. For a while my ipad said that until I updated it, because I carried over the settings. I am not saying this is 800 LTE. But without further information from him, his signal level doesnt jive with what I saw in the same spot last night on my S3. If he is on the 6th floor, near a window, thats a lot different than if he says I am in the ER, where I checked my signal last night. Is 800 using the same Provider 310120 id? What about band 41 ID?
  10. I am legitimately curious if that is 1900 LTE. I barely had LTE at the doors last night. The hospital is so big that being on a different side than I was could be the exact reason why, but my 800 was same sector and nearly same signal strength (I was -67). If you do the rough conversion of db to RSRP, -69 = -89 (and he has -90), damn close. could it be??? doubtful...but...you never know
  11. Where are you actually in the hospital? I had great 800 there last night, but in the back half of the ER I didnt have LTE at all. With you having a Nexus 5, and great LTE, makes me wonder if there is more than 800 voice going on.....Can you look at the engineering screen to see LTE connection info?
  12. Another cell phone tower incident. This time in West Virginia. Tower collapsed killing two contractors while they were reinforcing it. During rescue efforts, a secondary collapse killed a fire fighter. Rest in peace brother. http://www.firefightersworldwide.com/2014/02/wv-lodd/ http://www.wboy.com/story/24608973/two-dead-three
  13. You know, I was dumb. Its still the testing SID, I just didnt realize it. So no surprise stock PRL doesnt pick it up yet. Wallingford is in Southern CT market, which makes sense as to why you picked it up, its farther along than Northern CT Market in terms of 800 voice.
  14. Cool. I am trying to find out if anyone gets 800mhz around here with an S3 on 25017. So far, I cant find anyone. Other phones with 25017 seem to get on it though. Interesting. I get it fine too with a modded PRL. Its definitely live all over the place. You cant miss it if you have a device using it, or a PRL calling for it
  15. The green does not indicate any other LTE bands being lit up. That means CDMA 800 Voice was accepted. That doesnt mean that it isnt a triband site, but at this point and time, its extremely unlikely. To see the Band 26 and Band 41 information, you need to become a premier sponsor. With those bands live, it would be a "tri-band tower" as you phrased it. Also note, there is no guarantee Robert gets acceptance reports on any of the towers in a timely manner, so yes, they could be live, and even the premier section doesnt know it, or know which ones, but again, extremely unlikely you have towers with Bands 25, 26 and 41 live.

  17. We all know the network was neglected. We know it's overloaded. Yes, it should be farther along. But it isn't. If you can't function until it is fixed, grab another carrier. You can always come back. Do what is best for your needs right now. It will be better, LTE will be widespread soon. But, if soon doesn't work for you, try another carrier and see if it fits your needs. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  18. Enabled the 0.5x scales and I definitely can feel that "pop" even more. Good idea. Still very solid. Hell of a job.
  19. I'm gonna say, nice job. Been running since last night, install was flawless. I havent found a single hiccup, the phone is twice as fast, and battery seems to be holding better. Thanks! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  20. I am kind of curious about the backhaul isnt at the tower yet line of reasoning. I am sure this has been said somewhere else, but I cant think of it right now. Arent ATT and Verizon using fiber backhauls? Tmobile in some places as well? If a tower is serving up LTE from all other major carriers, and NV is done, where exactly is that backhaul tie in stuck? I would think that 90% of the work is getting the actual line to the tower. The backhaul providers arent running single lines per carrier are they? I know of a site in Rhode Island on Route 101, just in from the Connecticut line. They buried a massive fiber optic line on this road 3 years ago, and you can follow it all the way to Providence from the hills of CT. But the tower that is literally 500 feet from it, with nothing in between, isnt LTE yet. I just dont know enough about it to know if thats reasonable or not (yes its NV 3g Accepted) I still think even with the sluggishness Sprint is going to fare ok long term. Short term might be a big disaster and shake up. Yes, eventually this will all iron out. But if you loose 2 million subs in the process that you didnt need to loose, it makes it that much harder to gain ground. I want nothing more than to hold a triband device, in the middle of a building, showing how good my phone works, with the Sprint logo on it. I have faith in Sprint, and I want to show that faith for them. Just give me the power guys!! Ill have my S5 order in as soon as it goes on sale (assuming Triband of course)
  21. Are they getting it on standard PRL? I have 2 other S3's on my account besides mine, and they dont get 800, I get it with the premiere sponsor PRL. If I do a PRL update and go to stock, I go back to 1900 voice.
  22. I think Robert hit the nail on the head. Network Vision has taken too long for where it is currently at. Period. They have the cash, put it to use. If a market has the spectrum open, and 1900 LTE is in place, its unacceptable for 800 LTE to not be up and running. Its also unacceptable how long it has taken to get backhaul to many places, and clearly more short term solutions should of been employed, such as microwave. If you go to the second biggest airport in New England and cant use your phone for voice or data, you have a problem. Its 2014. Shit or get off the pot.
  23. They must be out playing with those nice remote downtilt controls on towers. I am on 800 voice everywhere for the last week, and my 2 normal spots, I was noticing I was running signal -65 and -58 (give or take a few ticks). Today, in both those spots, without moving the phone, I saw the signals change drastically a few times, and a little while later change back in the other direction (went down to -45 up to -80 basically on both). Then, it leveled off at about -49 on the one originally -58 and -52 on the one that was -65. So my guess is they are really fine tuning the 800 coverage. Pretty cool to see it happen like that. I cant believe how good the 800 voice is. I remember when I had Nextel in this area it was absolutely awesome. Its even better now on Sprint 800. Happy to see those old airwaves back in use. Maybe this also explains why my head feels hot and I have a weird tingly headache?
  24. I'll be happy to help you test, just tell me when to download it. Just watching football today on the couch. I had installed the first round but went back to the root stock from xda after I saw a few of the same glitches already mentioned. Sent from my Galaxy S3
