Sprint is not actually doing the work. They hired AlcatelLucent, who then has hired sub-contractors to do the actual work. There are many reasons that work could have started late in your market, and I know it's going slow, but with time and patient, you will see results soon. AlcatelLucent has been further behind in Network Vision work in general as well.

There are many reasons. It could be issues at the switch, the towers in your area. I don't believe that work has started in your market yet, but it's possible I may be wrong.

Spank! That's just funny. Another variation could be SoftSprint. ( I think someone mentioned it earlier in the post, but not sure.)

I'm heading out to the 110/105 area for the weekend of the 27th and the weekend of the 3rd, so I will map what I can. Going home to Nevada for SEMA.

Boost and Virgin should see major benefits from this. If Network Vision is completed faster, Sprint could then start offering LTE on prepaid sooner.

Thoughts on bailing Sprint for Verizon San Diego?
MacinJosh replied to snowtrooper1966's topic in General Topics
I have used all 4 and Sprint far exceeds in voice quality. For my areas at&t comes in 2nd, Verizon comes in 3rd, and T-Mobile comes in 5th. Yes, I said 5th, because T-Mobile in Pahrump was total crap. MetroPCS was better, but they are 4th because they offer native service in Pahrump, but won't activate service if you don't have a Las Vegas address. -
And I'm too busy working so I can buy a new and better phone for me. Click here to see it.

I like the idea of this merger, however, I hope that they don't try to convert Sprint's existing CDMA network over to GSM as they already use. Plus I hope they keep Network Vision the same and don't make any serious modifications to it. Ok modifications include speeding up deployment of Network Vision work, and of course, hiring the necessary people to make the work finish faster. But anything too drastic could destroy Sprint in the end, (ie. eliminating unlimited data).

Plus there was the Optimus Elite, even though it's only 3G.

The Optimus G has a nice sized camera, and comes with 32GB built in storage & 2GB RAM. Move over GS III, there's a new top dog in town. http://newsroom.sprint.com/news/lg-optimus-g-fact-sheet.htm With the release of these 4 devices & the Galaxy Note II, Sprint now has 13 of the 15 LTE devices they promised for 2012.

If you want to consider DT owning 75% of NewCo as exiting the US market. Even though it's a reverse merger, it's still favoring DT in almost every-way.

Reasons people choose iOS instead of Android
MacinJosh replied to MacinJosh's topic in Apple/iPhone/iOS
That's like me with Windows. The first computer I learned how to use was a Macintosh. Then my mom bought an IBM PS/1 (I think the PS stood for "Piece of S***"). It was harder to figure out Windows 3.1, and I was just annoyed by it. The only thing that was cool on it was the After Dark Screensaver collection. (I used to watch Marbles every single night.) Then when my grandparents bought a Mac, I settled right back into one so easily. They loved theirs so much, my grandpa went and spent somewhere between $2,000 and $3,000 for my mom to have one too. I customized that machine every way I could. It was great. During the 90's and most of the 2000's I had to use a PC for school because Microsoft Office for System 7 (At that time it was just Word & Excel) just wasn't cutting it for my schoolwork, and we couldn't afford a new Mac, so I bought a custom PC. But I still hated Windows because to me it wasn't as user friendly as all my Macs were growing up. But now I still need Windows for school, so I just use Parallels or VM Ware Fusion. -
I always wondered why there was a limitation to conference calling on CDMA, not that I used it much on at&t.
