  1. First, I want to thank twospirits (aka Dave) for putting this together and sharing it with me, and now I will use this awesome table he built and keep adding devices to it. For those of you who can't see the embedded table (Tapatalk & Forum Runner users), please click this link to access the table: Sprint LTE Devices Listed below are devices that have not been released, most likely will not be, or devices that have LTE Band 25 support for roaming on Sprint LTE. Unreleased: (3) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet Franklin Wireless R772 HotSpot Modem (No WiMax support) Huawei H882L 'Marina' (SVLTE) Devices that received cross support for LTE on PCS G Block: (6) Motorola Electrify M (US Cellular) Coolpad 801E (Appears to be slated for MetroPCS) Samsung SCH-R830C (Appears to be slated for Cricket Wireless) Samsung SCH-R970C (Appears to be slated for Cricket Wireless) Samsung SCH-R960 (Has support for LTE on Band classes 2, 4, 5, 12, 17, & 25) BandRich BandLuxe P530 (EVDO/LTE Router)
  2. My LG Xenon from at&t in 2009 was a decent phone except for the slowdown in the touchscreen response. Unfortunately, LG never fixed it. It was the first LG phone I owned. The 2nd one I got was the LG Neon, and let a friend of a friend use it. He never had any trouble with it. Then I got the Viper and after 2, I won't go back to an LG ever again. Sometimes my 1x signal is as high as 30dBm weaker than my EVDO signal. In Bakersfield yesterday, 1x peaked at almost 30dBm weaker.
  3. In other related news, the LG Lucid, Verizon's version of the 840, is getting ICS starting Friday. Maybe that means the Viper will soon get it's official ICS upgrade! http://www.androidcentral.com/lg-lucid-gets-ics-upgrade
  4. It started as a comment about the lack of 1x distinguishing on the Viper like the Photon Q, and how the Photon Q at least has more support for custom ROMs. From there, it kinda just continued on.

    LG Optimus G

Originally they said at CES that they would release ICS not long after the phone was released. So yes they are behind, but at least they aren't leaving it in the dust like Motorola just did with the Photon 4G.
  6. The reason your plan "changes", is because of the provisioning services on the account level that they have to set on your account for LTE. Some computer code differences between WiMax & LTE. The price will stay the same, though. It's weird.
  7. Did anyone notice that he used a Sprint GS3?

    That's a massive phone!

Apparently, this whole LG Nexus thing is pushing LG to start being more supportive of their phones. They are testing and releasing source code for the Viper and ICS. See my post here. Hopefully they will start stay up with the other big phone manufacturers in terms of support and upgrades finally.
  10. Rumors on the LG Viper Android Central forums stated possible problems with Sprint bloatware. I can believe it if it's true.
  11. After waiting all summer and only having the ZVD update for the Viper, which added the QuickMemo feature, it appears that LG is really testing ICS 4.0.4. So far there have been 3 builds, all of them have been 4.0.4. Not sure why they haven't released a complete version yet, but hopefully soon. The Viper had lots of potential for a mid-range device, but the neglect from LG has really done great damage.
  12. Strangely enough, the guys over at Android Central have found that LG is releasing source code for ICS on the Viper. Sounds like most of them are having a hard time building from source. WAIT! http://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensource.jsp Type in LGLS840 in the model name and select Mobile Phone in the category, and there are 3 ICS source code files!
  13. I had that problem with my EVO Shift and when I rooted and put a custom ROM, I was so happy. Now with the Viper, I've been stuck with the 3G icon all the time , so I feel your pain. At least the Photon Q will have custom ROMs before the Viper it seems.
  14. My brain is starting to ache from all this networking talk. I'm taking my Network + class in preparation for my Network Pro Certification and my Network + Certification. I'm cramming a whole class into a week cause it's due on Friday. So that might explain my confusion. Thanks for the clarification digiblur.
  15. It's very possible that this is what is happening, lol.
  16. Is the authentication system that messed up? I know years ago I tried to put an at&t sim card in a Nextel blackberry to see what would happen, and surprisingly the phone wasn't carrier locked (not like they needed that or anything). Unfortunately I couldn't try the other way around since I didn't have an unlocked at&t phone at the time.
  17. For those that have phones that have Sector ID's in the form of 32-character sizes, have you seen any letter ever shown above f? Because strangely enough, the Sector ID sure looks like an IPv6 address in terms of size and hexadecimal characters.
  18. That wouldn't make the phone work, would it?
