  1. You are not a Premier Sponsor, so you cannot see that page. To find out about S4GRU Sponsorship, you can visit this link: http://s4gru.com/ind...come-a-sponsor/ Robert
  2. That method does not necessarily identify a tower that you are definitely connected to. And the GPS data that is broadcast from towers that your phone uses are not necessarily accurate. That data is shown in apps like CDMA Field Test and NetMonitor, but are not always accurate. However, they are more accurate than Open Signal, which is very poor in site locating accuracy. Robert
  3. We have Puerto Rico schedules in our Premier Sponsor section of our site. Robert
  4. It is not an exclusive list by any stretch of the imagination. It is the attempt of Sprint Marketing people picking out cities on a map looking at schedules. Robert
  5. We have been reporting that Minnesota market wouldn't launch until Spring 2013: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/212-network-visionlte-deployment-running-list/ I interpret this to be communities where Sprint will have a launchable amount of coverage before the end of the year. So I am not surprised at all that no Minnesota cities are on this list. Robert
  6. Yes, but Puerto Rico started months ago and Seattle has not even started yet. They still may announce Seattle some time this Fall, but it will not likely launch with any service before the end of the year. This new list from Sprint basically is their guess of communities that will have enough LTE service complete by the end of the year that they feel like they can promote it. Robert
  7. Don't read too much into this list. It is not exclusive. It's just an attempt by Sprint marketing gurus to look ahead in the schedule and determine which communities will have enough coverage to allow LTE to be used before December 31st. The people who made the list may have thought Mishawaka was too minor to actually note in the list, there may be only one tower anticipated complete in Mishawaka at that time, or its possible that Mishawaka misses the December 31st deadline for this list and falls in January. No matter what, Mishawaka is going to get deployment with the entire Ft. Wayne/South Bend market. And since the deployment is more a site by site deployment than a city by city deployment, the details of this list are not very meaningful. Robert, S4GRU.com
  8. I was overjoyed to see that list. If that isn't the biggest confirmation of our data, ever? I just remember all the arguments/discussions about so and so knows this market is actually starting early and that one. I specifically got a lot of flack about the South Bay/San Jose market. I held firm that the market isn't starting early and this was only related on some pre-deployment just for Apple. Robert
  9. The information contained in the Press Release today was no surprise at all. So Sprint hasn't changed anything in their deployment plans for the upcoming iPhone announcement this week. However, I do believe that the timing of the LTE cities PR today was directly related to the new iPhone. I don't think that is a coincidence at all. Robert
  10. I believe deployment will continue this Fall as planned. However, it likely did not meet the launch deadline of December that they probably used to make this list. Robert, S4GRU.com
  11. Topic closed. This thread has run its course. Robert
  12. I understand everyone's frustrations. However, S4GRU is more about knowledge. Venting is for other sites. Robert
  13. I didn't read this Press Release to mean that there will not be any blocking whatsoever. I still think they will block LTE at sites and in some whole markets when it makes sense to them. However, there will be signals that will come and go during testing. Kind of like what we are seeing in Boston now. I think this is what they are referring to. But I'm not going to read too much into this. Robert
  14. I'm always amazed how many of you think that deploying in each market is an equal proposition. Some markets can deploy faster than others, some have backhaul that will take longer than others. There are many more factors than Sprint just picking winners and losers when it comes to markets. As for SF Bay, this market was supposed to start much sooner. However there have been lots of delays in getting that market started. It is not as if Sprint decided to delay the market. Mostly it is because of Northern California bureaucracy. Robert
  15. Yeah, it is odd. It may not be all inclusive. San Francisco has already started deployment in the past few weeks. Robert
  16. Don't be ridiculous. Those cities are in the Raleigh/Durham market. They will not actively avoid one major city in the market. Either Raleigh/Durham was accidentally omitted in the list, that area has delayed backhaul, or they used a date like December 31st in their database, and RDU was just beyond (like Jan 1 or early January, etc.). Sprint is not intentionally avoiding Raleigh. The deployment is being handled by Subcontractors, and they want to get as much work done as possible as soon as possible. There is no targeted effort to avoid Raleigh. It's preposterous. Robert
  17. Since we know the market is going ahead, but Raleigh seems to be behind, it makes me think it's backhaul related. Who is the ILEC in Raleigh? Robert
  18. I scooped all of you: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-321-sprint-marketing-releases-a-4g-lte-city-list-where-work-is-under-way/ I was on it this morning! Robert
  19. Several of these cities are in the Raleigh market. Meaning that the Raleigh area will be start receiving upgrades at the same time. However, Raleigh has many more sites and will take more time to complete than Fayetteville, Wilson, Goldsboro, etc. I think they are just showing cities that will launch before the end of the year, and my guess is Raleigh/Durham will not be active until a date in January, just missing the PR cut off. Robert
