  1. I am back up in Los Alamos and eHRPD is working. Don't know if it's just on in Los Alamos, and not down in Espanola/Pojoaque, or if it is just a coincidence in timing. Robert

  4. Knoxville is supposed to be at least in a prelaunch phase of LTE deployed before the end of the year according to the latest from Sprint. We shall see. Robert
  5. The trimode USB devices was supposed to be released back on September 18th originally. It's behind schedule. Robert
  6. Just so everyone else is clear, the 4G core is not at the site. Sprint has over two dozen 4G cores around the country. Each site is connected to the 4G cores via backhaul. At the 4G core the data is processed and goes off the Sprint network out into the internet backbone to go wherever in the world your data packets are destined to go to . Robert
  7. eHRPD improves pings in most instances, because the LTE core is faster to process data packets than the MSC, and also the routing to the internet backbone is improved. Robert
  8. eHRPD will only result in faster speeds over EVDO when the Sprint MSC is slowing down the data (which is pretty uncommon). Otherwise, if eHRPD is faster, it is a coincidence, not comparing apples to apples (like time of day) or you were on different sites and unaware. See this write up: http://s4gru.com/ind...dpost__p__52976 Robert
  9. LTE performance is very signal strength dependent, no matter which LTE carrier you are using. If you have a strong Sprint LTE signal, peak speeds of 25-37Mbps are common. Moderate signals will produce 10-15 Mbps, and weaker LTE signals will still produce 2-10Mbps. Robert
  10. Your guess is good as mine. But my guess is testing. I think they turned it on in several markets last week to see how it was working. Then turned it off when they concluded the testing. But I do not know for certain, Robert
  11. We had the same thing happen here in New Mexico this morning. This is common for eHRPD to come and go after it shows up in markets. Robert
  12. eHRPD is gone this morning in ABQ market. Back to EVDO-A. Sounds like this occurred in a lot of markets this morning. Robert via Samsung Galaxy S-III 32GB using Forum Runner
  13. It is not unusual in unlaunched markets for eHRPD to come and go. It will be back. Robert via Samsung Galaxy S-III 32GB using Forum Runner

  17. It's still just guessing. But I'm feeling good about the end of the month. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  18. eHRPD in and of itself will not produce faster speeds. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1819-what-is-ehrpd/page__view__findpost__p__52976 Robert
  19. You may have to cycle through airplane mode for it to appear. Also verify that you are in CDMA/LTE mode. It will not work in CDMA only mode. Robert
  20. All the same reason that I listed in the post above yours can still be in play with an urban site just 5 blocks away. But indoor coverage is no guarantee of service, because some types of construction effect signal more than others. Robert
  21. eHRPD is only available to LTE capable devices. Pre-LTE devices will only show EVDO for 3G. Robert
