  1. The LTE network cannot be struggling under load yet. However, there is a lot still going on. The network is still in an unlaunched state in the LA market. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  2. If you are in an area with a strong enough signal, you should only have to toggle once. Just turn on airplane mode, count to 4, turn off airplane mode. If your LTE signal is worse than -110 RSRP, sometimes it may take more than one to connect or not at all. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  3. I too am stumped on the one tower in Cleveland comment. I'm always the last to know. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  4. I would have put money on a Norfolk market start before now. I would have lost money. Bummer. But at least it sounds like it is starting soon now. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  5. I also have a VZW LTE hotspot, a VZW work phone and a T-Mobile Nexus 4. Those other networks are imperfect too and have lots of issues. Hand offs on VZW LTE can be harsh, especially to 3G. In my testing in Wichita Falls over Thanksgiving, Sprint LTE outperformed both VZW LTE and Tmo HSPA+ in every way except in the few scattered locations that Sprint hasn't upgraded. The handoffs on Sprint LTE are much smoother. There are advantages to deploying later. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  6. People are understandably frustrated with the current condition of the legacy network. For me, it's the people who know it's in the process of being fixed, will take more than a year to do so and decided to renew their contracts and purchase new devices and now start whining and yelling all over again because it didn't change in another month. And then throw the, "Why hasn't my market started? Surely Dubuque is more important than Muncie. Everyone knows it!" Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

    Hello S4G

I worked as a grocery bagger as a teenager at a Millers grocery store in Hawthorne. Memories... Robert
  9. No. It is unknown whether they will in the future, but it is unlikely. They do not want an Airave to have much more coverage than they already do, because it will just cause more interference issues. Robert
  10. The number of sites accepted only tells part of the story. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of sites that work is currently under way. Robert
  11. I don't know if it is so much our site, as it is human nature. And our site is a mesmerizing display of human nature...for better or worse. Robert
  12. This is not accurate. You are mixing work starting and market launch. Work is under way now. More signals will start to come live in the next few weeks. So it will not be at least 6 months for a partial deployment. In six months from now, they will have already launched the market as well. Robert
  13. Sounds good. Just repeating the concerns of a Sprint executive. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk

    LG Optimus G

I was able to confirm this past weekend that the LG Viper does indeed show LTE signal strength in the indicator while doing testing in Wichita Falls. I was next to a Sprint site that the Viper was connected to 1x with a RSSI of -80, but connected to a weak distant 4G LTE site with a -114dBm and it showed zero bars. When it increased to -107dBm, it went up to one bar. I assume, after all, that the LG Optimus G will also show LTE just like the Viper. The Viper must have received this capability in the ICS update. I was not able to do this exact same thing back on Labor Day when testing in Waco with the Viper. It would show the 1x signal strength. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  16. I was able to confirm that the LG Viper does show the 4G LTE signal strength now that it has ICS update. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  17. We have our first LTE sites in Minnesota in the update this week. Stay tuned. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk

    Hello S4G

Welcome to S4GRU. I lived in Putnam County for 7 years. I have a lot of family in the area. Went to Interlachen High School. My parents live between Melrose and Johnson at Cowpen Lake. I have two sisters who live in Keystone. I know the area well. Thanks for stopping in and introducing yourself. Hope to see you around the Forums. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  19. Like a champ. Equal to the GS3 in most ways. The GS3 will hold on to a slightly weaker unusable signal before getting dropped. Around -118dBm RSRP. But the Note 2 is the best Android phone at acquiring a LTE signal on its own. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  20. I love this pic. I usually use it every Winter. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  21. I believe that Sprint does not have any Motorola DAS systems, so this may not be an issue. But I do not know for certain. Although I have heard of hand off issues with DAS systems before, but never learned any contributing specifics. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  22. This thread discusses a one quarter delay, not one year. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  23. I disagree. Sprint is deploying in almost all large markets first. However, there are some smaller communities within those large markets that may have things ready. Should they have workers sit in those markets doing nothing until more worthy sites are ready? No way. Keep those guys working on anything and everything ready. Because Sprint is converting every single site in the country. So if a site is ready to convert, they need to jump on it. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
