  2. The DeKalb area sites are complete with NV upgrades. They are just waiting on their microwave backhaul links to be established. I'm surprised its not done yet. Robert via Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  3. I have no idea. All I can say is that NV work is running about 3 months behind schedule at this point. Since work was supposed to start in December in MKE market, we should get started no later than the end of March. I did speak to a Samsung Engineer about a month ago who said that all the remaining Samsung markets will be under way in the Spring at the latest. He said Samsung's biggest issue is not backhaul, equipment or permitting but rather enough competent bodies to do the work. Also, Samsung has a little higher standard than many American companies and has already fired a few subcontractors. He said they fired one company in Washington already for not fulfilling the terms of the contract. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  4. Maybe. Best way to find out is to go check it out. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  5. I'm just getting up to speed on the whole thread. Some really good advice given. I have nothing to add, really. But I love how the one Sprint CSR says you have to have a Sprint signal in order to use an Airave. That's rich! Painful ignorance. Of course no Sprint signal is needed for an Airave, that's the point of it! Although I do wonder if there is an issue with the GPS. I remember reading about something similar once where the last light would not turn green. The customer was finally able to get ahold of an Airave specialist who was able to determine the GPS kept locking onto the same coordinates in Kazakhstan or some place. They deemed the unit was faulty, sent a new one and never had any further issue. Getting ahold of a Sprint employee who handles Airaves day in and day out is your only hope, it appears. They will be able to tell what the issue is or determine a faulty unit. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  6. Data speed upgrades on a legacy site mean additional T1 lines. Depending on the specific issues at your site, it may not be enough to improve data. In some cases, a Network Vision upgrade is going to be the only thing that helps. Welcome to the limelight, no longer lurking in the shadows of S4GRU! Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  7. The rollout in JAX has been less than fast, no doubt. But work is still very active. They just seem to be having acceptance issues that seem to plague some markets. Sometimes you have an over aggressive inspector who gets unreasonable, sometimes you have a problematic Contractor that just can't seem to get it right. Either way, should improve in the next few weeks. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  8. I don't think speed or ping are an issue. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  10. Both are working for Ericsson on the Sprint deployment. Network Vision permits typically say something like, "replace 6 or 9 antennas with 3 antennas and new cabinets" or something similar. Tmo permits usually just say add 3 antennas. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  11. I have just posted a huge acceptance update for the DFW market. Largest ever. Some 3G, LTE and 800MHz sites. Sponsors can check out some additional details here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/577-network-vision-site-map-dfw-austin-and-west-texas/page__view__findpost__p__103612 Robert
  12. Did you try both sites that have been accepted? Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

  14. My friend uses an Airave 2.5 on a 3MB down/684kbps up on his Windstream DSL line with pings in 300ms range and has no problems. His 3G data is limited to 600k up, but otherwise no issues. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  15. It is in the Sponsor section. Any donation amount makes you a Sponsor. The Premier Sponsor is yet another level that can be obtained by reaching a total of $100 or more and gives you access to even more content beyond that. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  16. Over in the Sponsor section, I have posted about two LTE sites that were accepted yesterday in the Miami/West Palm market. 18. On a new site in an unlaunched market, absolutely nothing. This has happened a lot. Can be related to ongoing work at the site. Could be related to backhaul provisioning. But it most likely is related to the LTE core which is brand new and still probably being configured. Also, that ping time is very high for LTE. Robert
  19. Some more accepted sites in the Norfolk market yesterday. More details and maps in the Sponsor section: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/621-network-vision-site-map-dc-baltimore-delaware-richmond-norfolk-southern-virginia-markets/page__view__findpost__p__103552 Robert
  20. Alcatel Lucent starts deploying markets with 3G first and then starts bringing online LTE over the same sites a few months later. Your market should be starting up LTE soon, since San Diego is starting to go live now. I'm guessing in the next week or two. Robert via Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  21. There was a large update to the Sponsor maps of Orange County accepted Network Vision sites today. More info and maps available in the Sponsor section: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/635-network-vision-site-map-la-metro-orange-county-north-la-markets/page__view__findpost__p__103526 Robert
  22. I just updated the Sponsor maps with ten more Delaware market sites (all 3G) that were accepted this week. Maps: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/517-nv-sites-complete/ Robert
