  1. I often fantasize about what life would be like if Sprint had bought Alltel. But for selfish reasons. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  2. Missouri market. It's in the third round and is beginning now. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  3. I just posted like 14 or so the other day. Where you've been? Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  4. I almost got a VZW Z10. However, it was too small when I held it. I would like something around 4.5" screen, and then I'd be on board. I have big meaty paws. Something smaller than my EVO from 3 years ago just doesn't sound appealing to me. Heck, even the Nexus 4 feels like a small device nowadays, but something I can live with. 5. The first site was accepted in Central Hartford yesterday. So your suspicions are correct. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  6. I had an episode with whiny kids last night that made me nearly do a Chevy Chase scene after he found at Wally World was closed. I nearly lost it. My wife looked at me and said, "Clark!" Although, Beverly D'Angelo now looks a lot better than I remember the older I get. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  7. S4GRU Members: I will be on vacation starting tomorrow morning, through Monday, April 15th. I will be on the road, in and out of coverage. I will be very slow to respond to posts, PM's and emails directed to me. I will likely work in triage mode, only tackling the most urgent or easiest to answer. If you have any issues while I am gone, please contact a Moderator. Here is a link to our staff: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1250-s4gru-staff/ A PM is the best way to reach them. You can always use the report function regarding a post. We plan on keeping the updates going even while I'm gone. I will be signing in late in the evenings, and some of our staff will be helping too. I will also be able to upgrade donators on the road. There may be a delay at times when I drive out of service. But rest assured it will be taken care of when I get back into coverage. I appreciate your patience during this time. Please also let other members know if you see them comment that I haven't responded to them, etc. Thank you to all of you. Without you, there would be no S4GRU and I would be a lonely wireless nerd in a virtual corner all my myself. And many thanks to our dedicated all-volunteer Staff, who tirelessly effort with no pay. I really need this break. At least, that's what my wife has told me to say as she has a gun to my head. Robert
  8. Spring is not almost over. It just started a few weeks ago. Spring is over at the end of June. Over 2 months from now. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

  10. Nothing like the smell of a fresh ban in the morning. Sheesh. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  11. You were upgraded to the Sponsor level. If it is asking you for a password, you are probably trying to access from Tapatalk. There is a bug in Tapatalk that causes that. Try signing in through a browser on a computer. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  12. Crest played their best card. If Clearwire doesn't want to merge with Sprint, now it has an out. But the Crest deal does not solve Clearwire's problems. It just buys it more time. Crest wants to sell its shares for a premium, and feels this loan has no risk. Because they believe no matter what, CLWR will be sold in the next 12-18 months and their loan will get paid back. And they will gain the increase in share price in the sale they desire. I just hope CLWR rejects Crest financing and this can just move on and the drama stops. Sprint just needs to meet or beat Crest's terms and move on. I have to think there are a lot of people at CLWR who do not want to merge with Sprint, though. This could be tempting. 13. That's over by the Barking Frog, one of my favorite restaurants. I recommend the Grand Marnier Prawns. Emmmm.... Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  14. Locations of Network Vision upgraded sites are shown in the S4GRU Sponsor section. We show maps of all Sprint sites and all NV complete sites there. For more information about how to become a sponsor, visit this link: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  15. Confirmed. These are new Samsung cabinets. Please post this in the In Progress thread (or at least a link) and I will add this site to the maps. Good find! Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  17. They need the density. That's for sure. Especially in a place like Central Boston. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  18. It is a loan. It's just not a recognized loan product that is managed by Federal regulation. It's no different than if the mob gives you money, but you have to guarantee paying them back through "services" in the future. You're paying it back, and over a period. We can call it anything we want. We can call it a loan, we can call it a subsidy, we can call it extortion, it doesn't matter. But it's nothing resembling a rental. Customers agree to pay the subsidized price back through services through the duration of a contract, in place of paying full price. It has a real and tangible value. They are not renting anything. It's their phone. They can even sell it before the end of the contract and someone else can pay them and activate it. But they are still on the hook "paying back" that subsidy until the end of their contract. Or pay the ETF, which again, pays the subsidy off. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  20. That is the best latency I have ever seen on LTE before. The best I've ever had on Sprint LTE is high 30's, and that's uncommon. Most of my results were 50-60ms. And I've never had a VZW LTE 750 ping less than 60ms. In fact, I commonly get around 100ms on VZW. And can be over 200ms on a hotspot. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  21. No new info. You may need to go to T-Mobile if they meet your needs and provide coverage where you go. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  22. As of this morning, still nothing accepted in this market. But I'm watching. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  23. Yes, support the Kings. But also, support S4GRU! http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  24. I was hoping someone would come along. This thread has been dead for awhile. I was wondering if all the Sprint folks fled Memphis. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  25. I have all of these devices. Based on my experiences, these are the order of RF Performance: LG Optimus G Samsung Galaxy S3 Motorola Photon Q HTC EVO LTE For the most part, the GS3 and Optimus G have very similar signal strengths. But where the LG is better is at very low signal strengths. The LG seemed to be able to cling on to weak signals better and was more usable between -104dBm and -108dBm, where the GS3 would drop. But this was not all good news. Sometimes the LG would cling to very unusable signals like between -110dBm and -118dBm RSSI. And this would prevent you from roaming, getting stuck on a native signal that couldn't be used. If the signal is too weak, it's better to roam in my opinion. They all allow roaming and international roaming to be disabled, as best as I can recall off the top of my head. The Motorola Photon Q is pretty buggy and not as stellar of a radio performer as the prior OG Photon was. Robert
