  1. It depends on how far you live from an 800 site, how that site is deployed and the type of building you're in. However, in most metro areas, Sprint current existing sites should be sufficient that with 800 completely deployed that most people will not need Airaves anymore. Around Waco, where 800 is pretty much fully deployed, I had 3-5 bars of voice coverage everywhere I went, indoors and outdoors using 800MHz. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  4. I put it at 50% chance that the site just ends up 3G accepted. AlcaLu will not start firing up LTE in the Tucson/Yuma market until they have many sites to bring online. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  5. I should be in the office when it occurs, so I should be able to get right on the issues. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  6. In my area Tmo has decent rural EDGE coverage with good spacing. The problem around here is not the frequency used in rural areas, it is that it is EDGE only. Although in Santa Fe and ABQ, Tmo does need more density or lower frequency. Tmo is unusable indoors around here more than a half mile from the site. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  7. Nope. I think they pay a tonnage rate if memory recalls, and not a per user per minute or per MB rate. Robert
  8. I'm a visual thinker. I'm going to have nightmares about this simple quote. Robert
  9. On my Note 2 it says, "Not supported. Unfortunately, Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile network." It only gives me the option of OK. When I select OK, it closes the app. In the case of the Note 2, it is more than just the unsupported device message. I've seen that before on rooted devices and just ignore it. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Google Wallet version from the play store, and it was unsuccessful and still gave me the "Not supported" window. Robert
  10. MVNO's pay for their growth on the network. The amount of fees collected is more than enough to pay for the capex to support them. Sprint just needs to make sure they allocate the money correctly. And besides, under Softbank, there will be no network deterioration. Only further bolstering. MVNO's cause me no concern. Another thing to remember about MVNO's, they cost Sprint no money in customer service or other costs. They just wholesale deliver a service to someone else. It's pure revenue coming in. And there really are not a whole lot of MVNO customers to impact the network if you think about it. Also, the average MVNO customer uses less minutes and data per month, are not unlimited data and do not incur roaming costs for Sprint. I see many people who deride Sprint picking up one million MVNO customers as a bad thing, but cheer when Sprint picks up one million new post paid customers. Those one million new Sprint customers are a far more burden to the network than the average MVNO. But in reality, Sprint must grow. They must grow all their customer outlets, Sprint post paid, prepaid brands, MVNO's...everything. They need to take customers from the duopoly. And all these new customers are going to put increased demand on the network. And Sprint must prepare for them. We cannot protect the network from new subscribers because we fear degradation. If Sprint does not grow, it will eventually go out of business. Softbank gets it. And they have the money to keep the network robust while adding subscribers. Robert
  11. Tmo needs the 600, no doubt. But there is no date for this auction. It may be as soon as next year, maybe not. There will be complexities for banding/clearing existing uses, development of network hardware/device ecosystem. It's going to be four years or so before there is a network deployed and devices to be able to use it. This is not an imminent solution coming for Tmo. It will be one and a half or two complete contract cycles. A long time for someone to try out another carrier like Sprint or Verizon. Robert
  12. That's because it's the time slot that limits it to 1.5Mbps. TDD technology. So within a short period of one time slot, it's possible to exceed the 1.5Mbps. But within a few seconds across several time slots, it will settle in and not exceed the 1.5Mbps. Robert
  13. I was just thinking we may lose the Forum Runner and Tapatalk extensions too. They may lose functionality after the upgrade. So be prepared for that, and I will try to bring it back online as soon as possible. Robert
  14. I don't have any clue how to CSS. I can just do HTML. I use IP Board Visual Editor for skin customization. Robert
  15. We have a CVS here in town. It has never worked for me on three different devices. Robert
  16. The order does not go by Sprint's preference. The order will be determined by which sites are zoning approval/permitting and new upgraded backhaul ready. It will be all over the place. But one by one they will get converted. Robert
  17. I stopped using my Moto Pho Q. The signal bugs drove me bonkers. And I don't even live in an LTE area. I constantly would lose data connections, go to gray. Since I have multiple devices and can use any one, the Q's bugs just didn't cut it for me. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
