  1. That's good. In my email it says Google will not charge your card until shipping. So maybe it is going out today or tomorrow? Robert
  2. No, my home internet service maxes around 100Mbps. So that is the maximum throughput I will be able to achieve in ideal situations on an 802.11ac WiFi network. Robert
  3. Now I need to upgrade my home WiFi, so I can get that 100Mbps speeds on my new Nexus 5. Yeehaw! Robert
  4. Mine says Pending. However an authorization already hit my card. Robert EDIT: I was mistaken. That was a different authorization for almost the same amount. DOH!
  5. Shipments leave on 11/5, then it should be there within 2 days. 11/7 most likely. Robert
  6. I ordered, and then went back and read the info. I didn't want to miss out on the first wave of devices. I bought the Nexus 4 that way too. And people who waited just a few more minutes had to wait days to be able to order again. Robert
  7. You can use it on AT&T. I will use it on Sprint initially, but will move it over to my AT&T line when I leave Sprint service in the next month. Ahh, portability. What we always wanted! Robert
  8. I think we know why Verizon isn't on with the Nexus 5 now. They probably wouldn't agree to sell it unlocked in the Google Play store. Robert
  9. Here is the Sprint PR: http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/sprint-to-launch-nexus-5-by-lg-smartphone-on-nov-8-14999-with-sprint-unlimited-data-guarantee-for-life.htm?view_id=8028
  10. I just bought a 16GB white one! Robert
  11. No. DO Advanced in and of itself does not increase speeds beyond 3.1Mbps per carrier. It's being used for network management. However, you can use carrier bonding with DO Advanced and get faster 3G speeds. But this is a step backwards at this point. Because Sprint would have to add a lot of EVDO carriers, and then get a device ecosystem that can support it. Since Sprint is already putting out LTE on three bands that will completely overlay 3G coverage, it would be redundant and a waste of money and time. When LTE 800 is deployed, people pretty much will stop falling back to 3G. And the higher speeds 3G would never go live at a site earlier than LTE, it would be at the same time. So it would not help anything. And it would reduce the amount of spectrum Sprint could use for LTE. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

I already have a Verizon line and an AT&T line. So if I go with Verizon as our primary service, I would still likely buy a Nexus 5 for my AT&T line. If I go with AT&T as my primary service, I will likely get a BlackBerry Z30 for my Verizon line. Robert

I don't think she wants the G2. We will be buying new phones on a new carrier probably on Black Friday. I said she can have the first pick, and I would take second, my son and daughter 3rd and 4th. The only rule is, is that no one can double up on the same device. I want four different devices for my testing use. I still haven't decided between Verizon and AT&T. I'm quite distraught to have to leave Sprint now just as Triband devices hit the street. Robert

My wife dropped her LGOG in the toilet. She is devastated. Mostly because she now is using an LG Viper to tie her over. Robert

Backhaul is a site by site issue. Extremely variable. The ones already live are the easier ones. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  17. I too have had a few 39Mbps speed tests. Even one hit 40Mbps in Waco. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  18. It means they are going to focus build out of Band 41 with carrier aggregation and 8xMIMO in the Top 100 cities first. Band 41 is going to be deployed nationwide. However, the upgraded elements of Band 41 build out is going to require a lot of infrastructure upgrade. Sites are going to need much more backhaul then they currently are receiving. This is going to be a massive undertaking. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  19. Pics from an every day user would run the gamut from less than 1Mbps to 38Mbps. It depends on when, where, what device, signal strength and signal quality. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

Network Vision is already 68% complete. Network Vision is the upgrading the equipment at each site to NV standards. This is NV1.0. This will complete in roughly 9 months. And LTE 1900 (Band 25) will be added to each NV1.0 site when the appropriate backhaul is ready. NV2.0 is adding Band 26 (LTE 800) and Band 41 (TD-LTE 2600) to every NV site. That work is just now starting for Band 26, and will not start for Band 41 until next year. So these new Bands are not slippage, they are just another phase to NV that brings even more to the network. NV2.0 is separate and added later to the plan. It's not a failure. 21. Nope. All I did was root, then install DigiROM. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  22. Yes. And this is good news. One TD-LTE 20MHz carrier has 1.5 times the capacity of one 750MHz LTE 10MHz carrier. So here is the math, comparing one VZW LTE carrier with maximum coverage, one Sprint TD-LTE carrier on 12 sites would have 18 times the capacity, for half the customers. Whoa! Even if you add the second AWS carrier on Verizon, Sprint still has more for half the customers when you add three TD-LTE Sprint carriers, plus add LTE 800 & 1900. Sprint's capacity would be more than five fold greater than Verizon for half the customers. The numbers look really good compared to AT&T too. Now it's all about execution. And now it is in Matayoshi Son's hands. So we know it will happen. And the devices are starting to come out now. Happy days ahead! Except for me here in the Northern Prairies.
