So I came across this permit:

https://aca.stlouisco.com/CitizenAccess/Cap/CapDetail.aspx?Module=PublicWorks&TabName=PublicWorks&capID1=12BLD&capID2=00000&capID3=00691&agencyCode=SLC&IsToShowInspection=

Project Description:   ADD (1) ANTENNA ON AN EXISTING TOWER FOR SPRINT

Looking at a map of the location: https://www.google.com/maps/preview#!q=700+Rudder+Rd%2C+Fenton%2C+MO+63026&data=!1m4!1m3!1d2617!2d-90.4530743!3d38.538849!2m1!1e3!4m11!1m10!4m8!1m3!1d24983!2d-90.4807209!3d38.490554!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!17b1&fid=7

I see a tower there but I don't believe that one even has Sprint equipment on it currently (based off other maps).  Any idea what's up with that?  Sounds like they are trying to fix a gap in coverage but I wasn't aware of any in that area...and also thought they weren't really adding new tower locations right now.

I played around with Google's street view and I can see a short cell tower pole with some antennas on the top.  None of the pics are very good since you have to look over buildings to see it but there is a small tower there.  I'm gonna see if I can figure out who owns or uses that tower currently.

Edit:

Here's some tower info on it.

Appears to have Nextel and Clearwire equipment:

Thats what I was going to say Nextel because it is not a Sprint site. I remember seeing that permit but ignored it because it was from march 2012

Right. Bandwidth and spectrum is unlimited in St Louis. Sorry for the misunderstanding for the special market. I will let you guys continue your journey on the the small yellow motor coach.

Monkey not have his banana today? I was under the impression that Sprint provided unlimited data to anyone willing to pay for it. I guess that also means you can complain about someone else's usage they're paying for :) I'm sure everyone here understands there's not an unlimited amount of spectrum.

Bandwidth not used at any point in time, is just as wasted as doing pointless bandwidth checks.

If someone used 600 megs pointlessly, but no one else used or needed those particular 600 megs at those particular times, then it does not matter one iota.

Site near 141/44 behind McDonald's....up on the hill where Wet Willy's used to be.

Couldn't really see any of the equipment at the base but I snapped a couple pics of the top.  If anything looks new, I can always go back to investigate further.

Woops I thought the sign on the gate had it listed but it says some other info instead.  I removed it from my other post, thanks.

When they added the Cottleville accepted site to the sponsors map for some reason they removed the inprogress one I reported.

Fear not Cottleville will soon have 2 accepted sites and the purple plague in St Charles county will continue.

I hardly even pay attention to the complete map anymore when it comes to in progress....our map will tell you more about it. I still post in progress sites in the in progress thread but anyways motherhead is listed as RRU up in the map.

So I'm fed up with the issues with the Evo 4G LTE what would be the best recommendation for the replacement?

I was going between those three or even the note 2. Looking for the best price usually Best Buy (at least Crestwood) will match online and Amazon has the One 99.99 upgrade

Note 2, the deathstar of cell phones.

wondering if that's meant as a good thing or bad thing... I feel confidence that the One was mentioned a few times considering the Evo has horrible signal issues

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
